Buoy Bowls is North Carolina's first acai bowl food truck and was started in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area by local entrepreneur, Derek Sharpe. Derek was born and raised in Apex, NC but moved to Wrightsville Beach, NC after graduating high school. Moving back to Apex in 2015 with his family opened the doors for Derek to pursue his passion for acai, leave the corporate world for good and start Buoy Bowls, aka The Purple Truck.
