Weirdly enough, I actually requested this! Thank you for starting the series! I can't afford horses or to make trips like these (Yet), but I am absolutely fascinated by the lifestyle. Thank you for such an informative video, and thank you for all of your advice!
Wise and down to earth. He has such good insight if you ask me. A solid balanced , honest, foundation as a person, provide a solid basic to build on in every aspect in your life 🌈🍀
Nothing wrong with your 1911. I carried one for a few years, but ultimately chose a 9mm for my needs. Good tools: buy once, cry once. Better to get something reliable for when you really need it, even if it costs more. Thanks for sharing your philosophy on things, Dewayne.
Good information Dewayne. I've carried a Colt 1911 Series 80 for over 25 years, Very interested in the cooking utensils you pack in. I've been on hunting trips where it seemed they brought the whole restaurant kitchen with them. When my brother and I hunted in the Coeur d'Alene area our utensils were minimal: a 6" cast iron fry pan, coffee pot, the grate from the top of a two burner Coleman stove, two pie tins, two coffee cups, two sets of knife/fork/spoons (the interlocking kind) and our Buck 110's. Course, we were only out for 3-4 days at a time.
Good load out video.. my jeans of choice nowadays are round house mainly because they’re sourced & made in the good old USA.. still have some wranglers I ride in but trying to support companies here at home
I really appreciated this, and I look forward to more. I know its a lot of work, but imagine all the people on the other end of the screen you're making an impact on! Tremendous.
A .45acp 1911 is an awesome choice. And there is very little that a 45-70 can't take down. Might not be enough for T-Rex, but, they're kinda scarce LOL
Looking forward to the next video. I know last year you were using a canvas cutter. If you roll them tight enough, you can run 2 of them NorthSouth on top of hard panniers, they work great.
I’m glad to know that I’m not the only guy who buys lever guns unexpectedly. I’m going to have to have the location of the shop in Nebraska - you never know when I’ll need another lever gun. By the way - the Model 1886 I picked up in Sheridan shoots like a dream.
Great video, always enjoy, when your discussing gear. I have a JM also & like 1911's too boot. Looking forward to rest of setup. Partagas Heritage Toro to enjoy this video.
Well I'm glad you got another 45/70 I knew about the Remington fiasco , I'm glad Ruger took the rings on that so that gun isn't lost looks like a dandy>>> Ruger introduced a 44 special flat top revolver I believe in 2009 discontinued now if you ever get a chance to obtain one I highly recommend it , mine is a shooter 240 Grain Hard cast cranked up a bit . This man John August Taffin , or Elmer Keith will tell ya everything you want to know about 44 special or 44 Magnum and about 6 guns in general. That's a free tidbit back at ya. Thanks for the Video sounds like an adventure .
Hi Dwayne.Thank you for your videos.I enjoy them . I looked for the Russian rive in Idaho in google earth .It doesnt show up in Idaho.I like to look at the places you utube guys talk about. Thanks . From western WVa
Hi Dewayne! Thanks for this video about you tack! Would you mind letting us know in the description where you purchased your tack from? Thanks! Appreciate you!
I love marlins, levers are one of the only guns we're allowed in England, I've shot .357 .44 and the government one time, hope to own one one day, the nice blacked out ones from marlin, or the blued steel one
Have a great time on your pack trip and thank you for a great video. Your point on Ruger is well made. I had a Ruger Mark II with a wood stock in 7MM Rem Mag that would shoot 160 Partitions at almost 3000 fps into 3/4 groups. I gave it to my step son since I have a Model 700 Classic that shoots almost way. If I might ask, is your 45 a Colt or a Kimber?
I also have a stainless steel canteen wrapped in leather but it leaves a bad taste in the water from the metal do you have any ideas how to get rid of that?
I love watching your videos, you are so knowledgeable, are you going to video tape your trip out there ? It would be nice, if not, i hope you have an awesome safe trip 💜💙
Hey mister, let's talk about that 45 holster, retention, spare mag, rifle ammo and carrying spare rifle ammo... just more content but definately Iam curious how you roll.
Hello, one of your first subscrbers here, number 6, to be exact. Question: Is that a mule saddle or can you use horse saddle for Riba with right padding? Best wishes for your trip
The saddle is not built specifically for a mule, but it fits her well. There are dedicated mule saddles, but it’s often not necessary. I ride it on her with just the normal 1" wool pad I use for almost everything else. Thanks for being around all this time! It means a lot
love this guy
We all do
Yes, we do.
Same!!

Dwayne be living my dream life.
I love this man he has amazing talent and Tips for living our best lives. Oh and a cool ass beard.
As soon as I was chomping at the bit concerning your rifle; you answered the question immediately. Very nice rifle and thanks Dewayne!

Thanks for sharing Dwayne. Nice rig and tack. Not to mention the lever gun!
Love that lever action u got, stainless steel is amazing. more advice videos please, or the cooking was interesting too.

I'm really interested in your gun considerations, Dewayne! I'd love to see more videos about firearms in your channel
It'd be good if he displayed good trigger discipline for the noobs.
Dewayne, I love this kind of video………I am looking forward to the next parts.
Really nice addition to your usual format of videos (which I always enjoy). I really enjoyed this too and look forward to the next one! Thanks.

Good! That sure is a beautiful rifle
Carried 1911 for work for 18 years great gun
Always great information! Thanks!!

Be safe and have fun
Thanks for the info on the rifle. I will be better armed to make a good purchase now
I like all your videos but this kind is best. 🤠
Stay safe on your trip brother.
1911 is definitely the gun I imagined Dewayne carrying
I can imagine him holding a Winchester
I imagined a good ol' cattleman revolver lol
I could see him holding a Smith and Wesson Schofield
Ruger Vaquero .45 LC
That was interesting. Well thought out choices
Thx brother D.
Thats a lovely rifle
Love Love Love that ole F250
Great video, always enjoy, when your discussing gear. I have a JM also & like 1911's too boot.

Love the truck! Can’t kill those f250 s. Have one just like her ,same color and all.
This one has the 7.3 and Manuel 5 speed
Amazing packtition ❤
If you have a new saddle made talk to Denny Lowe at Springfield Leather. He is a saddle maker out of Colorado.
I'm going up to Alaska soon
Lol he got the new marlins. They are right up his alley though.
Hi Dwayne.Thank you for your videos.I enjoy them . I looked for the Russian rive in Idaho in google earth .It doesnt show up in Idaho.I like to look at the places you utube guys talk about. Thanks . From western WVa
Short of a societal collapse this information will never be useful to me, but I enjoyed every minute of watching it.
I am a keys double front jeans fan
Nice!
😎🇺🇲🇲🇽🇵🇷 Another GREAT video!Love rifle..
Pretty ‘saddle poor’ and ‘rifle poor’ at the ‘Bay Horse Ranch.’ Have a good trip!
Hi Dewayne! Thanks for this video about you tack! Would you mind letting us know in the description where you purchased your tack from? Thanks! Appreciate you!

Oh man I just built A .450 bushmaster When you pulled out the Marlin I said he better not say 4570😅😅😅 I want a lever gun now😂
Would love to see a video on your favorite books
I have a video on that. Just search back through my past videos, it’s there somewhere. 😊
Great stuff as always, thanks Dewayne. Question for you... if you were to run a scope on your rifle, how would that fit in the scabbard you're using?
I’d take a 1911 about anywhere in the US and feel content with it
THE GOAT 🐐
Can you tell us where you found that stainless leather covered canteen?
I also have a stainless steel canteen wrapped in leather but it leaves a bad taste in the water from the metal do you have any ideas how to get rid of that?
Nice
What’s your reasoning for the mohair cinch? I’ve heard they can be restricting for the animal especially with an exposed d-ring. /genq
I have a Remlin 336 that is actually pretty good but it is uncommon. I would definitely recommend either a JM or Rugar
I hope one day you make a video about your weapons
A bull terrier took on off your trucks for a joy ride. Day 3 of bull terrier shenanigans until Dwayne responds.
Please excuse the laughter, but I can also relate to the issue with the pants and weight on the belt! Welcome to old age and the change with the body.
I love watching your videos, you are so knowledgeable, are you going to video tape your trip out there ? It would be nice, if not, i hope you have an awesome safe trip 💜💙
Donr even ride but I'm watching this anyway
Question: I have an Emmer Brothers 3X hat, can you tell me anything about it. Its the best fitting hat I've ever worn.
What is the brand of canteen? I’m looking for the same kind.
can y'all suggest any books on wrangler pack trip preparation? y'all be safe.
What d you typically carry in the saddle bags?
Is that a Kimber 1911? Looks nice!
What kind of boots are the ones that lace up ????
Schnees
@@DryCreekWranglerSchool thank you DeWayne !!
Dwayne I’m curious what kind of holster is your 1911 in that you are wearing in this video?
Hey mister, let's talk about that 45 holster, retention, spare mag, rifle ammo and carrying spare rifle ammo... just more content but definately Iam curious how you roll.
Is there a reason that the hammer of the gun is cocked throughout?
It’s called "condition one" or "cocked and locked". It is the only safe way to carry a loaded 1911.
Dwayne talking about gear? time to grab a cup of coffee and sit back
How are things?, thank you!very colo edition, )
Could you do one on grief of a spouse please dwayne

I'd love to get into horses but I have no idea how to even start

@@Evan-bc6nbexactly!, if a honest worker, most will bend over backwards to teach you.
I think I'll also be using a hunting shut gun my uncles got
What caliber and make is your 1911? Looks like a nice gun. I’m guessing a .45 because 9mm doesn’t have enough power.
Not sure if it's a pump action hunting 12 gage shot gun like the one I have
