To open the pattern link, click on “more” after the video Title. This will open a Description box to the right of the video (if it’s not expanded) but it will only show part of the window, so click on “more” in that Description window again. Then click on the pattern link & open it using a browser (not DropBox). Then very IMPORTANT, a page will open up (a DropBox ad) but do NOT click on anything, instead SCROLL TO BOTTOM of screen & click on hidden “go to website”. This will open the pattern doc. Hit DOWNLOAD button at right top of screen and print.😍👍
This is a fabulous idea. Now we need to figure out how to sew and not cut the thread to begin. This way we can sew endlessly till our project is done. That would be a huge blessing. Thanks for the tutorial and pattern. These will be awesome too sew for a craft fair too. Now I need to go find my supplies and get busy. Thanks again, Babs near Tombstone AZ
TFS. This is really cute! Idea: if you make your yo-yo circles 1/2” larger, you can turn over 1/4” as you baste the edges and that will give you a beautiful finished edge that you won’t need to worry abt it fraying. This is how they used to make yo-yo quilts back in the olden days. 😊🧵🪡
I love your videos, I love how you move fast and have your samples all ready to go. It's a pleasure to watch. Thank you your free pattern too. I can't wait to make these rolls and boxes. YOUR THE BEST!!!
Hello Christy, I just found you and SO glad I did! Great tutorial and thank you for sharing! I love what you do and will definitely be a follower! Thank you, Gloria
Thank God, I found you… I skipped through a few of your videos and can hardly wait to have time to binge watch everything! I’m going to pretend like you are my creative friend.… I’ve needed one for years! If I ever think again, that I have too many things going at once, I’m going to remember you, so as to not be too hard on myself. L O L I’m going to re-watch your video of your sewing room about 10 more times. Fascinatingly, creative and inspiring. I am a new subscriber as of today. You deserve more subscribers and views. what in the world is wrong with UA-cam? I have searched so many times for some advanced appliqué videos, and all that comes up is something for beginner children.
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, you made my day.😍👍. I have 100 things I want to create & share, my idea folder is bursting, but was slowed down the last two years with Covid then cancer. All healed now & raring to keep creating! I already have a prototype cut out I designed for the next surprise. I will be doing some more Applique shorts & videos after that. Keep in touch kindred sistah.❤️❤️❤️
I made one for my large hand quilting thread. I need to make another one. I'd like to use some of my Hexiform or such like. My first one didn't have enough body. I like your suggestions. I used the metal lids of oranje juice gave a good structure to the sides. This is a good project todo some slow stitching. I wanted to say earlier that Guterman spools pop up and you will find a hidden core to store needles(why didn't I know that before). I've only been sewing for 65 yrs. You could also put three small spools in one of these(adjust size). We often prepare several needles at a time because -that helps to maintain the flow of your handwork. The other thing I've done is prepare bobbins in black, white and grey. I store them in an Altoid (I so enjoy these while on the go)tin with a magnet inside. I need to find some plastic-maybe some food container or a cutting board from the dollar store. I think I'll make one out of silk for my silk threads. I enjoyed visiting today. It is only minus 31 AB CAN and grey. I might even put in another piece to hold needles or use a piece of cotton over the needles to help the thread glide when pulling off the spool. I am inspired and this will make a great gift.
Just happened to m Stumble on this video and love this needle and thread holder so much. Thank you for sharing! Where can you find the plastic rounds you use for the center of the yo-yos? I would love to make this. Thank you.
So adorable! Going to give it a whirl! One question though, why thread through several needles at the same time? That part confused me ( I’m fairly new to all things appliqué).
When you are doing the same thread over & over, for example in a large Hawaiian Applique top, when you are in the flow you have to stop & thread a needle. So this is handy to “stay in the groove” faster, ha!☺️
Love love love it. What is the maximum diameter of the spool of thread you can put in this holder. And you should make one for smaller spools. I have more smaller spool due to variety of colors I really love this.
A couple of questions: You featured floor lamps in your room tour, do you have links to those lamps and you mentioned painting on your quilt: what paints did you use?
I don’t know how to put in a link in these messages, I’m not very techy! But the floor lamps are from Amazon, Daylight Company Slimline LED floor lamp. The fabric paints are Jacquard textile paints (jacquard products.com), also sold on Amazon.👍

They are sweet, but I thought the whole idea is so you always have thread loaded, then you say I was going to show you how to sew on the round edges, (which is the bit I was waiting for) but then you say, I don't have any thread loaded, 🤔🤦♀️ Weird. 🤷♀️
My apologies, I appreciate your feedback! I try my best to prepare before recording. Sometimes I make mistakes. I’m not a professional video maker or techie, I’m new at this whole UA-cam thing so please be patient with me.😍
@scrap-aliciousapplique1081 I didn't mean to be mean. It was just a bit disappointing to get to the bit I would want to learn. It's fine. Sorry if I seemed harsh. We all start somewhere. I'm not sure I could even make a youtube video 😁🤗🌈🌾

Use Karen Buckley Applique Plastic sheets or use plastic milk jugs. 😍👍
@@scrap-aliciousapplique1081 thank you!
Is the plastic to simply use as a template or is it to remain to reinforce the sides?
@@michelelaube8794 To remain inside for reinforcement/stability/shape.😍👍👍
@@michelelaube8794 The plastic disk is left inside the large yo-yo s.

Oops! My large spool is 1-⅝” diameter.😍👍
Without it not being big enough to fill the space
Found you today. Oh my, the thread holders are so stinking cute. Great tutorial, thank you for the free pattern, very generous of you.❤️🥰

Any brand of 1200 yard spool😍👍
Where do you get the plastic to put in the yo-yos?
I order Karen Buckley Applique plastic off Amazon👍 The floor lamps are from Amazon too… Daylight Company Slimline LED floor lamp.👍
Thank you so much for this free pattern! It looks really neat! 😊❤😊
