We just got 7 Rebirth which might be the best JRPG unless you think the J means JaTurned Based Combat and not Japanese.

It is in fact by the time Kai no Kiseki 3 IE Daybreak 3 gets its English dub it will likely BE 2026 too bad by then Japan will still be like 2 to 3 games head in those Trails of games but at least by 2026 I'll be playing both Kuro 3 and this one.

The elemental characters sharing and mixing elements has gotta be inspired by the Djinn from golden sun. You could keep them all the same element on one character or mix and match resulting in new elements and types of magic/psynergy if you experimented e.g water + earth = nature vines, if I remember correct. Looks and sounds cool though!

Hearing similarities to Sea of Stars just concerns me immediately lol. But does look overall neat, the characters immediately look more striking and interesting than Zal and Valere remotely come close to being. I wanna play a JRPG for the story, and a good turn based system that doesn't have it's most interesting mechanics limited to slow building meters.
Visual style is also very neat and immediately reminding me of the best looks of Bravely Default II's looks (the monster designs, not the party member designs.)
Without spoilers, what butted you about Sea of Stars? I was planning on picking it up at some point.
Can't speak for OP, but for me it was the repetition that kicked in pretty early, combined with a lacking narration and characterisation of the protagonists. It's a good game, but was dissapointing for me after all the praise.
Sea of Stars was really bad. Might be my most head scratching example of reviews being insanely off the mark.

@@smackgyver5670 Hmm, that’s unfortunate. What part of it is repetitive? Are there few locations that you backtrack to a lot? A few party members that only have a handful of moves unlocked too early? Cause RPG’s are kinda repetitive in general. Just asking because it might not bother me depending on what aspect is affected.

Sad there’s only been 1 review in the past month or so. It’s clear this is not the channel for me anymore. Genuinely hope all the patrons are happy with the content.
We announced in December that we had to shift to part time in 2024. The podcast and group stream are the main things we're committed to, but everything else is more volunteer, depending on people's schedules. That can definitely change in the future if we get more funding again. -Bloodworth
