- On Sunday 11 September 2022, 60 Rifle Guilds from Flanders, the Netherlands and Germany will show their best side in a parade through the historic center of Mechelen. Mechelse Reuzen, vendeliers Pirrewitt and the Opsinjoorgooiers also Flemish guild dances, fencing demonstrations, flag waving and drumming by militia groups from Belgium and the Netherlands. In the courtyard of the town hall, the Kolveniers demonstrate aerial carbine shooting at the recumbent seesaw, while crossbowmen shoot bullseye on target. The lacemakers of the Etterjefke lace club show their skills in making the Mechelen ice ground (a specific kind of Malines lacework in the form of a small hexagonal trellis, which was one of the most difficult to make).
