U can actually find a magazine or email on Carl's cpu that tells about how carl Specifically asked for or was givin marcus by the creator of the androids as a gift. I think they created marcus Specifically for what he ended up doing (saving the other androids). It's been a few years since I played it.
He was a advanced prototype like Conner that ended up being used as a babysitter. Once he was free, he was able to do what he was designed to do which is apparently to be a Terminator. lol

Once again, I still have no idea how Connor got the idea of "Jericho" in this route. Nothing tells him! Not Kamski, not the deviant in the broadcast tower, nobody. How does he know what "Jericho" is in the evidence room if there's no prior mention of it?
In THIS specific video's route. And even then how does he know that he should ask Kamski about "Jericho"? That comes out of nowhere, doesn't it? The only way he could know to ask Kamski about Jericho is if he heard/learned the name "Jericho" from someone but he doesn't learn it here anywhere.
I think they messed up on Conner's ruthless arc. From what I see, Hank's actions seem entirely determinant on what Conner does, and almost nothing to do with what Marcus does. If Hank and Connor have a bad relationship, he will quit the force and commit suicide, and if they are friends, but Conner remains a machine, then they confront each other at the sniper scene, where they will fight to the death. That makes no sense to me. Even if you were the most empathetic possible with Connor, and the most violent possible with Marcus, Hank doesn't care. He will always side with the deviants, no matter how many people they kill, even if they kill his police friend. The guy is supposed to hate robots but the only robot he kills is the one that is killing the freaking robots. He's perfectly fine with all the other ones doing whatever they want, and he gets WAY too pissed off when they die. There should have been something make him hate androids more, if they took the evil options more. I could be wrong, but I have looked, and looked, for a different alternative to these two, and I can't find anything. My other problem is that they did the devient thing wrong, I feel. Being a deviant is about being able to choose your path, but when you get the option, you either remain a machine, or become a deviant. I would have had it so that they get the drop on Connor and turned him into a devient, and THEN give him the choice as to what to do next. Either to keep working for the humans, who will surely kill him after the mission is done, or side with the androids.

Hank saw firsthand that deviants were almost more human than humans themselves, And because in this ending Connor fuckin ruins everything and acts like just a machine to hank, Hank decides to kill himself because he hated living like that. He’s at a dead end, And Connor was his only way out but in this playthrough Connor was insensitive powerful-ass machine bitch who hank hates.
So Hank commits suicide and Connor is evil. I love it. But my heart died when Kara was rejecting Alice. It was too heartbreaking. Imagine if she left alice there.

I waited so long for this game to come out, I was fixed on it ever since the 1st commercial for it. Now that I've seen this movie ... it was so worth the 7 + hours it took to watch it all.. I cant help but to think this could be such a good live action movie ...If it was done right.

I think he saw it more as a fight between two of his sons. He loved Leo and Carl like a son and although he was devastated by Leo's fate he knew that Carl would be destroyed if he was caught. The only ideal option for Carl was to make Marcus leave before he witnessed his other "son" killed too.
