That shows talent that they can sound like this after all these years. Speed was excellent and instruments were all in tune. Voices were … well, pretty damn good, no matter what their age. A real treat, thanks.
Nice to see these original members still playing their music. Paul Revere and the Raiders music brings back many fond memories from the late sixties. 😍
You went to school with him?Well,You should know!! I have always enjoyed this song and you can do it Very Very Well!! Everyone take care and I am Glad Fang was and still is kind! It’s not right to be a show off and act snobby short way up Fast way down and your true will remember you and how you treated them! Much wiser to be with God and Jesus!
On 4/13/2022, Who's still listening to this song and to Paul Revere & The Raiders? In 1966-69 I was in Elementary School and will still be listening, I'm 66 Yrs old. This was one of my favorite groups because they looked cool in their outfits from the 1700's.
I’m 72 , we lived in the best of times. I was lucky enough to be born in the haight. Got to see all the greats. --thanks bill graham for all the great shows.
Used to watch “ Where the action is” their own TV show!!!! I also saw Paul Revere & the Raiders in Reno in 1990 and Paul Revere signed one of his junk rock T-shirts for me I still have it vacuum sealed. Good job fellas!!!!! Lots of great old times!!!👍👍👍
Way back in 1976 I was working part- time at Disneyland and Phil had a group called the" Friendship Train" that played at the Tomorrowland Terrace. I used to go watch them every chance I could and I think his sister was also in the group at that time. He continues to be a great ambassador for the Raiders and and all the epic music that came out of the 60's !!
Phil Volk came into my gift shop in Key West and we sang Kicks together. What a nice guy he is. His daughter was so sweet too. I was thrilled to meet them💚
At 14 yrs. old, I saw this band in '65 at the Long Beach Arena in California, a daytime show that ended way before dark. The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, Paul Revere and the Raiders, a few other acts on the bill also.. The Raiders, far and away, had the best stage presence. Dancing the pony while playing, super long curly cords to their amps so when they turned sideways they could make them wave up and down while playing, just a great stage act. They played perfectly... it was a great show. Of course the Stones were the Top Bill. First time I saw any of these acts live. I think the tickets were around $4.....LOL
I met Jim in Walla Walla when he was with the Viceroys. We were a jr HS rock band The Satellites. They came to listen to us when they were heading back to Seattle after their gig at the recommendation of Al Lentz the booking agent. Good guys. They gave us encouragement to keep at it. Jim, I'm still playing at 73 years old. Fond memories.
I saw Paul Revere & Raiders live way back when with Freddy Weller played with them; he didn’t use a twelve-string, GREAT to hear the twelve string here.
Glad to see "fang" alive as i heard he passed a few years ago..thanks for posting this very good..Im a big Raiders fan from wayback then..they dominated A.M. radio for a time and hit after hit..helped me growing up in a rural area far from the maddening crowds of people where I wanted to be but..radio was my touch stone for being part of it all but the electricity and magic of that time was felt and i can't understand why the 60's is neglected as this is where the music today grew from..even rap was done by Lennon way back and I still can feel it when hearing music like this and Im pretty old but...yeah yeah yeah..thanks to all those bands as many has passed over even Freddie of the dreamer's..so many
Sadly, the first one to pass away was Smitty, then Drake, then Paul. Mark and Phil are still standing from the original group. I love their music; always have, always will.
Sadly, Phil lost his beloved Tina, a year ago. The Volk family has always been close, & were fantastic when they performed together. My friends & I were blessed to have been able to attend many, of the "Where The Action Is" tapings. The Raiders were always kind & gracious. Spoke with Paul & Phil the most, & they couldn't have nicer. Tina was a complete sweetheart, & we were thrilled when she & Phil got together. It was so refreshing to be on the "Action" sets, & find everyone to be as friendly as they appeared on TV. 🎶Sure miss that show, it's great music, & genuinely good, wholesome fun🎶
I first saw Paul Revere and the Raiders in 1964 my first R&R concert in Huntsville Alabama. I went with my two older sisters, I was eleven years old and was their $-*block!! Lol
This is great....I was SO in love with Phil...he kept me out of a lot of trouble as a teen... No real boy could hold a candle to Phil... he looks and sounds great... SO GOOD TO SEE JIM VALLEY!
They were friends long before the Raiders. They perfected those moves as teenagers and it just became natural to them. To the rest of us, no way. Dancing, singing AND playing in rhythm is off the charts hard.
(ok to click on 'leave' when that pops up....just goes to the site for the shows)...Happy Together Tour 2022 featuring The Turtles, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, The Association, The Buckinghams, The Vogues, and The Cowsills etc
I got to see the Raiders playing down in the creek at the Renaissance Pleasure Fair in Agoura in about 1969 when I was just a tyke. Then, about 30 years later, Mark Lindsay played at our local Concerts in the Park where he told a great story about that show. I don't know, it kind of made me feel special, as I was probably the only one there who saw him the first time!
And don't forget that Phil "Fang" Volk was able to forgive Paul Revere for a nasty lawsuit which postponed (by more than a year) the launch of Fang's post-Raiders group "The Brotherhood". There was long-term damage to Fang's career.
I just saw George Thorogood open for John Fogerty, and at the end of Thorogood's set, he flipped his guitar over to reveal "Fang" on the reverse side...a pretty cool tribute, I'd say.
How come Mark didn't join you guys here?? That would have been GREAT!! I've seen you guys in concert at least 3 times including Spokane at the old Coliseum and the concerts were always great!!
I believe that "Kicks" was the FIRST anti drug song too...they were the bom! No wait, it may be "Mother's little helper" from the Stones, I don't remember which came first. Both AWESOME songs. I'm SOOOOOO thankful that we lived in this era of music 🎵! It will never be as it was!
@@valerieteti1755 hey, it's cool, thanks. Mark does like my comments on FB and the Paul Revere and the Raiders Instagram account. Once he even responded to me. At the end, one said, " That was written by a couple rock and rollers!" "Mark Lindsay and Keith Allison." Phil Volk left the Raiders in 1967, and has spent the rest of his life playing up the fact that he was a Raider for 2 years. Should have stayed with the group, but he and Drake and Smitty thought they were gonna be stars with their own band. Harpo at least had a successful career doing children's music.

Nice to see these original members still playing their music. Paul Revere and the Raiders music brings back many fond memories from the late sixties. 😍
PR & The Raiders was definitely one of my favorite bands. I had started with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
Priceless! One of the most entertaining bands of the 60's....thank you!
Phil Volk was one of the really nice guys back in High School; it is so nice that he still hasn't changed.
You went to school with him?Well,You should know!! I have always enjoyed this song and you can do it Very Very Well!! Everyone take care and I am Glad Fang was and still is kind! Kicks came out in 1966 so 56 years ago. They were on the tail end of the British Invasion music scene.
When it came to pure rock n roll, there was no better than the Raiders. Sounds as good today as way back then!
Me!
I am still listening to their music at age 73.
Nothing stops Father Time/seems like only yesterday they were in their early 20's on Where the Action Is !!!###
You got that right! My friend. Can we please go back now? It WAS just yesterday, I swear it! Lol
The Raiders got me through the storm plagued waters of my teen years....at 71 I still can't get enough of the "Riff".....
I am 69 and loved Where The Action Is and come home change clothes and in watching tv and dancing I learned how to dance at home watching them!
Yea the riff is still fantastic to this day.
Wow! I remember his smile, he was my fave of the raiders. Saw them in person in 65!!
Brought a smile to may face, Fang forever.
I thought this was gonna be sad, but they NAILED IT..!!!! Bring back the 1960's - BEST generation for music.!!!
They're all great musicians. No surprise they nailed it!
Man that brings back a lot of great memories and I just hit 73 Thank you

Can't remember the year, but my brother took me and sister to the Paul Revere and Raiders welcome back. Portland , Oregon.
The Raiders are the most underrated band of all time!
Could say the same for the Kinks.
I grew up with Paul Revere and the Raiders and loved them! Fang you were and are the baddest of the bads! God Bless you in every area of your life!💖
Still got those trademark Raider moves! Love it! Hope they come to the East Coast one day!

Yes I Saw them Disneland in 76
His wife, Tina, was a dancer on Where the Action Is.
Love these guys, saw them in '67.

They were a GREAT band. This is a wonderful tribute. Bot for it Fang and Harpo.
I’ve always loved the way Phil and Jim danced in unison when they played ❤️

Talk about a responsible, hardworking, wonderful person... that's Phil Volk
Fang! The Raiders were such a fun group, Fang is magnetic or something. He moves a crowd!
They were great live. Costumes and the signature step moves. Back when it was recorded in mono and stereo vinyl. Wichita KS.
Thanks for the memories.
Great to see these guys.
Aloha Phil!... Miss ya buddy... You worked with us at kono Hawaii... Santa ana CA. God bless brother!...🤙🎤🎸🎼🎵🎹

I saw the originals back at the Illinois State Fair when they were at their peak. Maybe '67? Super fun. Sam the Sham was the opener...Wooly Bully!!!!!

Mark is like 80 years old now and lives in Maine has a little farm back there
I took gauze tape and spelled out FANG on the back of my bass in the 60's
It’s cool that they got Brian May to play with them.
That is cool…Remnants of the Raiders. Saw the original band in 66 and it was a musical highlight of my youth.
What a treat!

Very nice to see a part of the Raiders again singing and sounding great , my first 45rpm was " Just like me "{ !!
Gawd I remember going to dances where band called The Viceroys played, guitar players was Jim Valley, before PR and The Raiders
Met Jim Valley in Mumbai around 2012. Wonderful guy!
I’m surprised Harpo performed. He was only with Raiders a year and left with somewhat hard feelings. Guess he was able to take the high road.
And don't forget that Phil "Fang" Volk was able to forgive Paul Revere for a nasty lawsuit which postponed (by more than a year) the launch of Fang's post-Raiders group "The Brotherhood". There was long-term damage to Fang's career.
I think the problem was with Mark and Paul...NOT Phil..
Jim..Phil and Smitty all left around the same time
Still sounding great!
My favorite song by the raiders, followed by just like me, and stepping out.
Man those guys are "OLD" ........ I watched them 55 years ago 😋
Everyone gets old if they live long lol. Just be glad we had the best music. Young people are discovering our music and most love it.
I like it, but they really miss Mark.
Ya think?!🤣🤣
He is doing his own thing but still as good looking and still the showman.
Mark really sold this song. girls went wild for him and ponytail
Mark Lindsay was a dreamboat and gentle..
And his voice! But Fang was always a sweet, fun guy.
Fang forever!!
I just saw George Thorogood open for John Fogerty, and at the end of Thorogood's set, he flipped his guitar over to reveal "Fang" on the reverse side...a pretty cool tribute, I'd say.
I'm so glad I stumbled across this.
Wonderful.

Flip guitar use to say FANG on it🤣🤣🤣I remember!!
Still does--check out 1:30
Phil is still the crazy one

I've always dug how the bass is mixed up front on the original recording.
These ol’timers remind me of some of the High Bands of the 60’s playing rural Maine....
I would love to see them with Mark as well.
when he called that guy 'Tommy Tutone' was that the 876 5309 Jenny guy
yes...Tommy also lives in portland Oregon
@@mikeskill lol, i got the 876 5309 45rpm somewhere
Bit of Trivia: Phil Volk aka Fang's sister used to sing backups to Johnnie Mathis.
On record or live?
I kept waiting for him to turn around his guitar to show the name FANG on the back of it. 🎸
Listen to the end of this tune then play Sting's Fields of Gold. You hear how much this record influenced him.
Terry Milcher the Raiders Manager was Diris Days son.
Like the doors trying to carry on without Jim. You saw what happened tjere
still got it
Phil accepted my friend request, on Facebook.
After a year, I withdrew my request from Mark's page.
I’m sorry 😞

You can hear why he wasn't the lead singer.
Why is 75% of the video showing the ceiling?
because not everyone knows how to shoot video properly.

Phenominal!!!, but what's with the Goof with the scarf on his face on the right side? Ohhhh. Tommy TuTone!
I'd like to see them reunite with Mark Lindsey
Where is Mark?
