The discourse around the Quinn game is interesting. I definitely feel like I can grasp what Caedrel and Nemesis are saying about the risk/reward and the state of the game. But I don't feel like Baus got to make his case in its best form. As far as I can tell his belief is that what Quinn actually does throughout the game is purely kill the enemy teams game plan. So that by coming bot he utilizes his damage to push the enemy to reset, if they both have to reset his tempo is always 2-3x faster. Whereas on all the other champions he plays he just utilizes strong wave clear to create a tempo advantage, with Quinn its generally much better to just fight them, because a draw is a hard win. I think maybe he got a little bit too hung up on that mindset at that moment. Because I do think Caedrels point about the wavestate is compelling. No one can legally catch the top wave he creates at that dragon fight. He creates the perfect scenario for a cross map dive even if he himself were to go catch it as he says. Was the right play to drop the standard Quinn movements and play the moment more like a Gragas/Sion? Maybe, idfk, but it's probably a good discussion to come back to later once the psychology of the game isn't fresh. It definitely didn't feel like he was convinced and I don't think the team will convince him until he thinks they understand the premise of sidelane Quinn. I fucking love being able to watch this stuff holy fuck 1:59:05
What Caedrel said is definitely right. They already won the fight in botlane and they can't save their turret in botlane anyways, so it's better for Quinn to probably catch 2 more waves topside before recalling. As Caedrel said either the Darius stays, meaning he basically wastes 20 seconds doing nothing and the teams fight around drake in a position that favors LR or he goes top so LR get free drake and Baus can still recall and sprint top to catch the bouncing wave.
@@LordKeram I'm definitely willing to accept that. But I don't think I fully understand Baus' side of the argument so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt a bit. And I think he probably understands Quinn, especially top Quinn, better than the others. I think the most challenging part of the discourse was getting him to accept that the play might not be optimal as far as Quinn is concerned, but it is probably optimal as far as the overall game is concerned. Like I said, I think he believes that unlike the Champs he otherwise plays, tempo comes from fighting on Quinn, not wave clear. So while this was an opportunity to create tempo through waveclear, in Baus' mind it was better served to go create a different tempo beat by backing and pushing the Darius back to base. I don't know what is objectively right but I'm trying to understand his perspective and why he is so firm in his belief about what happened on that play
@@wyattboutilier7669 I agree that Baus understands Quinn the best out of all of them but this might be a soloq mindset issue. If Baus takes T1 top and Nemesis takes the bot push, Baus can recall and they got full control for drake In soloq Baus cant rely on his team as much so he thinks he needs to create the pressure on bot by zoning darius out and being faster on the reset I love Baus and I know he takes this journey seriously, he will only become more of a demon from these convos than he already is
@@wyattboutilier7669I'm a diamond dog so I don't understand the game as well as baus, but there's no world I can imagine where his play is better. Caedrel's analysis makes perfect sense. It's so natural, harmonious, and has no downsides. It secures a tower + an extra wave for baus, it leaves nem a good lane to walk to after recall, they secure the dragon as 5, and allows them to hard pressure botside 5v4 since someone will be forced to go top on enemy team. Baus' play just feels awkward.
@BryanJordan1 I'm right there with you bud, everything Cadrel says sounds like perfection. The only thing thats clear to me about Baus' side is that he is trying to explain something about Quinn that the others aren't grasping and I think don't grasp by the end. And I think he can tell they don't grasp it which leaves him at the end I think pretty noticeably not feeling comfortable with where the discussion finishes. But I would like to know and understand what he is trying to communicate to them, because I don't think its as mindless as it looks compared to what Caedrel is describing. A big part of what has been fascinating about watching Baus in LR is how long it takes to convince Caedrel/the team that something works. I feel like it took until today to sell Caedrel on Grey Kayn as a response pick. So whatever his point is about Quinn and how he wants it to work from an overarching strategy perspective, I hope he can get that across better at some point.
I have been non stop watching this content! I am loving these longer form videos, nice to watch while I work. Keep it up Nemesis and good luck in Paris!
Scrims are where it’s fine to lose. Rekkles has literally only played one scrim block before this without a coach Give it time. Baus ramped up a ton once he meshed in the team, Rekkles will follow
@@sopopoio1235 even though rekkles is much better support than caedrel, i think the constant shotcalling caedrel did, really helped them. Rekkles seams a bit shy, or not as harsh as caedrel. I hope rekkles steps up, or maybe velja starts shotcalling like caedrel.
Rekkles is an adc player, Caedrel a god tier league analyst. Ofc Rekkles can play his champs better but Caedrel is a lot better in setting up fights & playing the map while being handless. Funny how people expected Rekkles to actually shotcall here

Am I alone in the sentiment that Velja is by far the weakest link on this team. 11:56 in what world does this look good? Neme even says that he wasted ult, and Velja still says its good? Like at 14:05 Neme is clearly asking for assistance, but instead of going mid and relieving him, he goes to his golems? Is he just ignoring neme or unaware that his presence could have saved neme from being dove under tower. I dont think this team will be able to make it far if Velja keeps this performance.
Why do they keep getting aced late game so randomly? Lose of concentration? comp? Like they made amazing comeback game 1 only to get aced randomly and lose game.
My question is why coach is not allowed to be in coms ? How dumb is that ? In other sports coaches are literally next to the players telling them what to do
Probably to avoid cheating e.g. communicating enemy pov. It's also not really useful in esports anyway. In traditional sports many coaches are ex pros who played at the highest level themselves but esports is mostly too young for that to be the case yet. They also evolve much faster than traditional sports and patches change the game more often.
This never works and should never. Because a third party watching everyone would be very broken and changes the game. Besides, the point of the competitive League is playing the standard games at the highest level. In most games, there's no one coaching you what to do.
This is the last scrim before the Redbull event! Enemy Team: Potent Jankos Kaymin Jackspektra Nash!
