How is the ECS Tuning radiator performing -after 6 years of use?- Any leaks? Any galvanic corrosion where the fan temperature switch threads into the radiator? The female threads on the radiator are aluminum. The male threads on the fan temp switch are brass. Dissimilar metals mated together have a tendency to cause corrosion.
#RedondoBeach2 I purchased this item this year. ECS Tuning released the performance supercharger cooling system on July 19, 2021 so I don't know what are you referring to regarding the six years of use. 🤔 However, I do not have any issues so far. As mentioned in my video the only caveat is that you have to fabricate your own brackets as the ones supplied did not work for the B8.5 SQ5. Maybe if I had an B8.5 S4 to measure the frame then I could have cut and welded the brackets to utilize them as intended. This item is for the supercharger, so it does not have a temp switch, so if you are looking for an engine radiator then CSF 7091 or ECS#434649 is what you need. 😎 Maybe down the line I will also do a CSF radiator to enhance the cooling of this vehicle and then maybe I'll have an update in the near future.
@@vhurtado85 I apologize for mistakenly thinking this was a much older video. I'll have a look at CSF. Thank you for making the video, it's helpful to me and other's doing DIY repairs and upgrades.
@@vhurtado85 Hey, although the video is new, if you don't mind me asking, I'm still interested in your perspective on my original question regarding potential for galvanic corrosion. Do you think corrosion could be a problem as a result of dissimilar metals (aluminum threads in an aftermarket radiator and brass threads on a coolant temperature fan switch) when mated together in the presence of coolant? The factory radiator appears to have brass threads where the coolant temp sensor (also appears to be brass) threads into the radiator. If you don't have an opinion on it, that's okay too. Maybe I'm overthinking something I don't need to be concerned about.
@@RedondoBeach2 Honestly, I have done Koyo, Mishimoto/Griffin aluminum radiators with the brass sensor for classic cars, imports or domestic and haven't found that to be an issue. Both metals seem to be corrosive resistant in their respective properties. You should be good! Are you inquiring about this as you are trying to install this on an SQ5. I've read good reviews for CSF for this line up. I had a Mishimoto radiator on my MK4 R32 with the brass sensor. The radiator fins failed before I could see the brass/aluminum thread have any fatigue/corrosion signs. Hence, if you are to purchase Mishimoto for you VAG vehicle it's a hit or miss with this company as it was a superb upgrade on a 97 Eclipse GSX I used to own . I currently have two of those radiators on the shelf with the same failure, hence why they don't make them any more for the MK4 chassis.

MotoFantic Install went great! The problem you will find is that you'll need to calibrate it and also match it with your vin through ODIS something that VCDS can't do.
Hi there very nice video did your temps droped significantly or .... and also do u want to sell your black brackets from heatexchanger i lost mine please let me know asap ill pay you for it

Hey! How’s it going? Just wanted to find out if you were able to properly connect your ACC system
Yes! All connected and successfully coded. 👍

what exactly needs to be done with vds or odis

Hi! Yes, I have those brackets if you are interested, and temp is still there but not creeping as fast as the OEM small exchanger.
Yes im very interested in brackets
