      @vhurtado85 21 день тому

      @@LordToxygene Nice! I have the billet adjustable sway bar link and Neuspeed sway bars on the MK4 with KW2. That seems to have improved upon the original design. As for the control arms I have not decided to go fully billet adjustable from Verkline. This may be due to the sway bar rear bushings on my SQ5 and they are severely rusted due to the stuff they put on my roads in the winter that are there, but only hanging by mere luck. Replacement to a sealed version may be better in my area. As for this vehicle, the rust is my concern for those billet spherical rear components that usually these are made from for those front adjustable control arms. 😓 Not to mention PNW roads are not well maintained specifically in the city I attend Uni. I cringe hearing my suspension suffer when I drive in the city having to dodge the obstacles.

    What symptoms did you get when it gave out did your lights go crazy?

    • @vhurtado85
      @vhurtado85 Місяць тому

      @Allblackaura Thanks for checking my channel. Not at all. The car voltage would drop even when running, meaning the car could not stay on. Hence upgrading it. Usually from what I learned regarding lights going crazy is if your ignition switch and steering lock is failing it causes the wipers and headlights to have issues. For example the ballast not kicking on for the projector when you have the car running and select it to be on or when hitting your high beam lever to cause the windshield wipers to kick on and stay on. Lights going crazy could also be a sign of a bad CECM, but hard to diagnose if you don't have VCDS or OBDeleven to identify the symptoms.

    Trying to do this retrofit in my Tiguan, got control module, CANbus, everything but now learning I need color mfd and I’m stuck…. Saw a guy who’s B&W mfd showed the readout but then stopped working when he went to a muffler shop or something. Driving me crazy. Did you retrofit your cluster?

    • @vhurtado85
      @vhurtado85 3 місяці тому

      @Bacob_SteezBurger Welcome to my channel! In this video I'm showcasing the retrofit of a Scirocco cluster to modernize my vehicle. I don't know what year of Tig you have, but instead of searching for a new cluster (as I did), consider using a Color MFA as a potential solution (It will have diagnostic, OPS, TPMS, etc., as compared to going stock or OEM plus), given advancements in technology since I performed this modification and that they finally decided to make it available for the PQ35 platform. Additionally, you'll need a platform like VCDS, OBD eleven, ODIS, or VCP to switch your vehicle from indirect to direct TPMS and ensure proper coding.

    • @Bacon__SteezBurger
      @Bacon__SteezBurger 3 місяці тому

      @@vhurtado85 thanks man! The scirocco cluster retrofit seems to be the move, the write up I found of another facelift mk1 Tiguan doing the direct TPMS retrofit ended up also fitting a scirocco cluster. I’ve looked into the aftermarket 3DcolorMFD lcd units and the customization of them is pretty incredible. The one I found is basically the Audi version software which has alot sharper and deeper color. I talked to a seller and they didn’t know If it supports the direct TPMS readout/Lane guidance but if it does that may be an easier swap. I appreciate the reply man! Love your setup, and love the sQ5 build as well 😍

Check out UA-cam channel D&K Autos for a video detailing a transmission failure, subsequent retrofitting of a different route on the DQ250, and eventual upgrade to a new DQ500. I typically drive under normal conditions, but I remain mindful of weather fluctuations in my area. It's essential to be prepared to prevent the vehicle from entering limp mode. Whether it's about maintaining, enhancing the aesthetics, or improving performance, I know that making the right adjustments can make anything possible. I intend to keep my car and even pass it down to the next generation, as I can't control the actions of other drivers once I'm out on the road. My goal is to make the overall experience more memorable, as that's what truly matters in life. 😎

      @lewisjr08 They haven't failed! Since I initially installed them without any compromise for the buyer, they've held together just as strong as the day I put them in. I didn't install any other parts because the Middle Lower Bar (Product Code: UR-ML4-1196) aka Tunnel brace design on the SQ5 differs from the Q5, and the ECS one is proving to be reliable. To fully grasp the distinctions, you'll need to search online for a comparison between the OEM and Ultra-Racing designs since I'm unable to post pictures here. In terms of performance, you'll notice that the chassis feels more dialed in during twists and turns rather than driving in a linear direction. In addition, my sway bars are from Eurocode. Hi Bryan Negrete. Thanks for checking my channel. You'll have to extend the harness and run it to not interfere with the window mechanism of it going down and up hence running it in conjunction with the original harness. You will also have to use a voltage meter to test which wire goes to what i.e. turn signal or convenience light from the mirror. Color of the wire is not something that I can detail as this varies in model trim for those years. Hope this helps.

      Jackson Stewart, thanks for checking my channel. Unfortunately, I don't think so for the skid, as usually, those changes cause discrepancies where the placement would be due to the increased ground clearance brace. 🤔 However, as for the transfer case skid, you would have to measure the driveshaft drop starting from the transfer case, and you may have some success, so if you have someone that has one on their vehicle you can see what I mean. 😎

      I think you need to change the settings to DAB or BAP in the radio to get it to communicate. (Going off memory) However, you can also do the Color MFD changes like my MK4 R32. I know it supports the Red FIS that comes standard in the MK5. I still like the upgrade I have, but even it you got a white cluster from a Mk6 you can Ali Express and swap to a Digital Cluster for a more modern look with that option. Still don't think it communicates with the radio. So compared to when I originally purchased the 3d Scirocco cluster, technology was limited, now you have many possibilities. Food for thought, if that is something you definitely want. 😎

    • @vhurtado85
      @vhurtado85 Рік тому

      @@unclepeanut8066 Yes! You will have to grind/Dremel a wire route guide channel on the backside of the handle to get it to fit flush. The part that extents out when you pull the door handle is not where you want to do this, the keyhole side. It is the swivel point area that you want to get the wire to go to as this is affixed (This is usually how the door handle is in lieu of the front wheels.) That is the way I remember it being from IPCW and then once you get it to go through the clearance you tape the wire to the back of the handle or heat glue it as to make it a part and affix it and reroute the wire to channel it like you would for the OEM harness to not be compromised by the moving parts. I would add quick connectors to the harness in the case that you need to service the LED or another mechanical part like the lock itself. Just my experience that it is better to overhaul than cut corners and give you a peace of mind long term.
