An acre can be very productive, especially if done well (not like mine!!!) Variety through the Spring Summer and Fall will add to nutrition of larvae. It is also immensely satisfying.
All that mares tail get in there an weed it out quickly. They produce like 500k seeds per plant. In the coming years you will have nothing but mares tail if you don’t jump on it. Sadly it doesn’t respond to round up. Have to hand weed it. Looked like yours is about to or already setting seed. Good luck with the job. A grass herbicide would be helpful as well. I know I’m not sharing anything you do not already know.
Feed with flowers and not Formic Pro!!!!! Finally, someone talking with sense. I stand with you.
Thanks
Love your flower garden
Wish I had the equipment to do it properly! I have another acre I could plant but its rough ground.
Wow is that the hurricane working it’s way up?
No thats been and gone, but we got 3.5" from just this low.
What seed mix did you use? Did you buy one specifically or mix your own?
Wildflower mixes from Johnnys sellect seeds and Great Basin Seeds
If I plan an acre will that be enough for the bees to mess with or will it be a waste of time
