i'm already happy with myself because i'm in a 5 year book slump and last year i read a grand total of 1 book, while this year so far i've read 2 and a half books in 9 days. progress is progress. hope you (and everyone reading this) have a good reading year and a good year in general too :)
I was in a 4 year reading slump because of uni, but last year i made sure to make time to read at least half an hour per day or a few times a week and i read 9 books!! I made a resolution to reat 20 books 😁
There’s something about Colleen Hoover that when I see the books I run in the opposite direction, they give me the ick without ever reading a single one, idk why.
Lol same! I just don't know what turns me off of the books when I haven't even read a single one from her. I love romance in any kind and I probably just neet to give her a chance but everytime I come across her books, it's just NOPE BYE
This was wonderful! I felt the exact same way about The Picture of Dorian Grey. Also, I had just reread Rebecca before I tried to read Verity and got about 20 pages in before I DNF’d. I therefore loved your comment on “respect yourself and read Rebecca instead.” That was my first and last Colleen Hoover experience.😂
Lmfaooo I will never get over your colleen Hoover reviews because you’re so right 😭 you read some really good ones last year but definitely some doozies thanks for taking one for the team. You’ve saved me so much money lol
So happy I found your channel. You led me to Daisy Jones and The Six which became my favorite book of all time, and now I hope the show does the books justice when it comes out
even though we don't always have the same taste in books, i love watching ur videos. ur book reviews always feel so raw, open, and honest. hope you have a good 2023 (:
Thank you for the Yona of the dawn appreciation. Even though the manga is fairly popular for a shoujo I still feel like it’s a tad underrated. Can’t wait to see you delve more into the upcoming volumes. Also can’t wait for your chain of thorns review when it comes out.
This was such a fun way to wrap up all the books you read! I had already been planning to read Babel this year, but your review/experiment for it sealed the deal for me, and it was incredible. I was devastated, and it’s my new favourite book of all time
I'm honestly interested in anything you might upload, aside from books. Food, cooking, vlogs, shopping, music aka Taylor lol , or anything else! I love you and I can't wait for the things you have planned! 💟💟
I read 'The Starless Sea' by Erin Morgenstern last year only because of you. Such high praise from you made me really curious about it even though I didn't like fantasy much. It's my favourite book of the year now and I am so glad I read it. It's one of the most poetic and enchanting books I've ever read. It literally reads like a fairytale. Thank you for the wonderful recommendation.
That was my first book in 2022 because of Hannah! You might consider reading "the girl who fell beneath the sea" by axie Oh. Even though the books are very different, they both hold such a deep love for the concept of what a story is and were my top 2 books of 2022. It's fantasy fiction, with some historical aspects and is based on Korean classic novel
started using your reading journal for 2023 & i'm just so so happy with it! it's definitely gonna motivate me to read more, it's just so beautiful & i love writing down all my bookish thoughts
i’m so glad i found your channel last year, i hadn’t read a book in so long and your videos gave me so much motivation!! looking forward to what u upload this year 🫶
every time i logged into youtube for the past week and a half i was begging to get this notification! I am cozy with candles and tea reading to see this video 💘
Also if you want more manga recommendations I would recommend you, Natsume's book of friends. Such an unique story that makes me feel emotions I didn't know I had, in a range so beautiful thinking about it makes me so emotional. It's the story about an orphan able to see which others usually don't see, creatures and spirits called yokai, who settles down in his grandmothers hometown. There he learns that he has inherited from her her book of friends which has the power to control yokai, and decides with a cat as his bodyguard to give back the names to the yokai, in the process getting to know his grandmother by their memories. It's also a story about threading the human and supernatural world, trying to find one place in the world where you belong. QQ Sweeper/Queens Quality. The author once said she wanted to write the darkest shojo, and I can totally see that happening here. It's an very unique shojo fantasy story about a cursed girl and a boy, and cleaning. The story begins with QQ Sweeper which has 3 volumes then continues with Queens Quality where the story is taken to a new direction so I don't want to spoil to much. My love story!! This is one of the cutest romance stories ever. It's about a big man whos never experienced love, and he has a super popular friend. One day he rescues a girl and they start going out. It's really cute and so worth it if you just want fluff, romance, and humor! Noragami. I feel like this one has a vibe somewhat similar to AkaYona even though they don't have much in common, I guess it's the familiar emotional type of similarity? Anyways it's the story about a girl who saves a boy from getting run over, but in the process splits her soul from her body. Apparently the boy is no normal boy but a god, though not your well known god that you worship but one who has to work like crazy in order not to be forgotten and then disappear. It's quite heavy on lore and stuff, but it's totally worth it, such an amazing story. I think I wanted to share more but I tried too hard to explain these series well though I'm not very good at it. I hope you will like them if you decide to check them out!
I got your reading journal and I loving so far it was the last one I find at my barns and noble. Hope you have a good week so far and keep up the amazing videos.
I hope 2023 is a great reading year for you!! My goal this year is 105 books which is a lot more than my total of 12 books last year but I’m pretty confident that I can complete it. I’ve already read 3 books this year which is honestly crazy.
Hey! Hannah you are my favourite youtuber and I love to read books so so much you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 500K Subscribers very very soon!❤️✨☺️
Spot on with beautiful world where are you. I preordered it and was so excited and then didn’t even end up finishing it. I thought I was the only person who didn’t like it!
Oh my gosh, I wish every book suggestion video was this succinct! I have been trying to find a booktuber that has reliably similar tastes to mine so I dont waste money on popular books that I end up hating. I think I found that person in you 💚 so thank you for what you do!
I wanted to use a reading journal for 2023 and I knew immediately I wanted to use yours! I love it and I will be adding some of the books you mentioned in this video to the TBR section ☺️🩵
because you love the night circus (my favourite book) and you talked so highly about yona of the dawn in your previous manga video, that's what prompted me to watch the anime (bc i trusted your taste) and then i became OBSESSED and read the ENTIRE manga series in 2022 and now i'm completely almost up to date haha! i read 81 books in 2022 which is huge for me since i've been in a reading slump for like 7 years (didn't read much all throughout high school). but out of 81 books, 39 were just all of the yona of the dawn volumes so.... yeah. :') thanks for introducing me to the series and the manga continues to get so so much better from where you've left off! :D
Our reading taste is so similar, so I love getting recs from your channel and even tips on what to avoid. Because sometimes the concept of a book sounds good but the execution is so disappointing that you feel you’ve wasted your time
Just wanted to say that I took so many of your recommendations this past year and we have such similar reading tastes! I read Starless Sea, Yona of the Dawn, the Astonishing Color of After, and Dorian Gray. I absolutely loved all of them! So many new favorites thanks to you! I can’t wait to read more of your recommendations. ❤️❤️
Hannah !!!!! Oh my gosh I’m so happy you uploaded 😊😊 girl I’m so pumped for a new reading 📖 year 😁 I agree with you on the books that were not a fun time I unfortunately had a lot more books I didn’t like last year but who knows this year will be better all good vibes ✌🏻also I’m excited for of your videos you are extremely lovely with a very beautiful soul ❤
Beartown, or Björnstad as it's called in Swedish, is amazing. I read it for the first time when I was 15 and it just hit so close to home. I reread it a year later, after I was SA'd myself and wow, that was hard. I really recommend the second book in the series, it's great. However, unfortunately I did not enjoy the third one. I finished it, but it was not as good as the first two books IMO. I do hope you continue with the series though. Interesting to hear your thoughts and opinions.
I love your short to the point commentary ! I hope you have a lovely reading year! I read Sorcery of thorns based on your recommendation and loved it. xx need to read the novella.
Would you be up to read Heaven official’s blessing? It’s a Chinese BL and it’s almost done releasing the books. The plot is a bit confusing but it’s great when you start to get everything and the characters are super well written.
love this as a succinct way to look back on a year of books!! I read What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher in October and it clutched my beating heart for the rest of the year
This was VERY lovely! Loved the way you did this video this year, very percise and to the point and that made it chef's kiss content. Also CONGRATS on the 87 BOOKS as well!!!! VERY excited for more of you and your content this year! Sending love and hugs (if you want them!!!)
i'm already happy with myself because i'm in a 5 year book slump and last year i read a grand total of 1 book, while this year so far i've read 2 and a half books in 9 days. progress is progress. hope you (and everyone reading this) have a good reading year and a good year in general too :)
ahhh that’s so great!! i hope you continue having a great reading year as well ♥️
Yesss I love this for you!!
That's so awesome, I'm happy for you 😊 🥳
You too.
I was in a 4 year reading slump because of uni, but last year i made sure to make time to read at least half an hour per day or a few times a week and i read 9 books!! I made a resolution to reat 20 books 😁
The moment u realize eveything u read was just based on hannah's recommendations

I thought it would be a movie?
@@lilifilm_227 yeah I was surprised too, but they announced it as a mini series. I heard Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo will be a movie though
At this point I can have a whole bookshelf dedicated to all the books I read/will read because you recommended it/gave it a good review 😂
🥰💖
That such a sweet comment ❤
The reviewing of every book of the year in one sentence is actually something I saw Jack Edward's do last year!
Many people have done it ❤
tristan reads classics also did it recently, for classics (obvi!)
and I believe all book ytbers should do that
Hannah's soft-spoken sweet-voiced sass is what i live for
I am honored to say we read so many of the same books 😭😭😭🫶🏻
