I love your differentiation: reaction is the thermometer that reads the room, response is thermostat that sets the room. Sets the temperature.

Crystal this video is so good!
It is taking my breath away, I grew up in a home that was reactionary.
I was a teenager who was reactionary, a young mother and wife who was reactionary, and it has taken me to get in my latter 50s to finally make a turn.
My latter will be greater and it is never too late to change for the better.
I thank God for you your ministry and your messages!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I too am in my early 50's .... and the words you spoke were a mirror of my life. My mother was a single parent who did her best to care for her children. I know she wasn't aware, and that is ok. it has taken me until now to feel and know that I can actually change my behavior, I have Crystal to thank for that. This message for me was so powerful.

This message was for me. I will admit I'm guilty of "retreating" in the form of ghosting because of my own issues and fear of being hurt. In return I hurt someone I care about. Thank God I was able to amend the situation. I was able to leave the situation and uplift someone I respect and have love for. Thank you Lord!🙏🏿

This was excellent! I’ve always had a hard time expressing myself because it’s not something I learned to do throughout my youth. It caused me to sit back and not offer my views, opinions and set boundaries. But then I’d explode when I did try to express myself.
I’ve made a commitment to be more expressive and to do it in a way that is not destructive. I do have a very hard time not giving the same energy I get back though. I went through something recently where I was not gentle with my tone because I felt I was being spoken to unkindly. As you said, I want to own and know who I am. I want to be able to stay in MY element despite the circumstances.
This truly blessed me and let’s know it’s what God wants me to work on. He’s pressing me with these difficult situations so I can overcome them and speak life and encouragement even when I’m not receiving that.
Anyone reading this I pray for your journey and please pray for mine. ❤️

I LOVED the part about responding vs reacting even with good things. Last week my boss sent me an email and it said “thoughts?” With an email chain attached. I immediately reacted - going into overdrive the whole night to find the right answer. The next day, when speaking with an expert on the topic, I realize I missed a critical piece of info & it changed what was needed. If I’d responded with a QUESTION instead of reacting, I could’ve saved myself a night of restlessness.
    This was GOOD!!!!

This is so good. I needed this currently in the season that I am in. I've asked God to help me in a few areas in my life and I can physically and spiritually recognize when the devil is trying to knock me off my game in those specific areas. I'm learning to respond and not react at work and at home. I try to train my mind to remember that we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but with principalities. So like Ms. Crystal said, a lot of times what you want to react to, has nothing to do with you. And when I take a breath and not react but respond in the correct way, it makes me feel like I have won against the enemy.
Thanks for this ms crystal. I needed this right now.

You have no idea how much this video has helped me. I had a "situation" today where I was very insulted, offended, hurt and angered. My immediate response was to cut some people off, which is what I usually do. I just cut people off and don't look at it from their perspective. But I know God wanted me to hear this because I need to be more mature and less emotional. Thank you so very much. 🙏🏽

This was a timely message for today. Yesterday I received a text message out of the blue from a friend that I hadn't heard from in months. I love her dearly however conversations always center around getting married and weight. True to form -Keeping she opens with, “ hey girl, you married yet?” I reacted and said hello, I am complete❤️❤️❤️. How have you been?”
To which she replied, “what does that mean?” I have YET to respond. What I wanted to text was: WHY DOES EVERY CONVERSATION BEGIN WITH AN INQUIRY OF MY RELATIONSHIP STATUS??? (btw, she is twice divorced, and single). I don't feel that would have left her whole😔. So grateful that I did not take it further. I appreciate this discussion.🙌🏾

Baby girl don't worry about that question. I'm not marry I don't have children but I have God. Some people think that because I am not married I'm not happy. To be honest I love living alone you don't know the peace it brings. I'm praying to God to please remove those people who are not good and that cause affliction out of my life. Marriage is not for everyone, I had a dream a couple of months ago that God told me I want you to separate for me. I understood what he meant. God bless and get saved 🙏

I really LOVE THIS!! In September, my daughter ask me in regards to something she received from my mother that had issues. I called my mother and told her about the issue. Because of this, my mother was upset by my daughter's concern and I REACTED-because of my mindframe and mindset. I was so upset, an argument incurred with me and my daughter and I had to go to my mother's to calm down. I looked at the situation as though "it is enough that you, your father, your stepmother and his side of the family don't like me but now you are pinning me and my mother against each other?" Now when she needed help, I was there whereas her father didn't want nothing to do with her for 29 years. I REACTED instead of RESPONDED. Thanksgiving was the last time I've heard from her because she felt she could get the love and respect from her dad and his family and totally blocked all communication with me and my mother. What hurts the most- the argument between me and my daughter was viewed and heard by 5 of my 6 grandchildren. Reaction is quick but carries a heavy weight emotionally and there are regrets. Responses carry a profound impact into the situation.

I definitely said some “smart” words towards my mom in which I knew I shouldn’t have, as well as my tone. I definitely was holding back my emotions and that resulted in the verbal pain that I caused. As I went to my room I started feeling profoundly convicted and I went on UA-cam for worship music when I came across this video. Auntie Chrystal, these nuggets you shared is helping me. I work in a hospital and I have at times reacted rather than responded. Sometimes I don't have the time I need to respond in the most impactful way for my patient nor my coworkers. I'm still learning how to not allow my emotions to be in the front. Out of frustration I usually react, when I have to repeat the same answer 20 times. However, my shift is 12 hours so I try to stop and think, breathe then let go of my feelings. Consider the other person(s) involved.

Thank you for sharing this insightful tangible ways we can rest and respond. Last week I had a lady in my office space tell me "calm down lil girl"😶😲 in which I reacted by doing absolutely nothing (lawd she Betta thank God for Jesus😁) I responded in awe by saying umm excuse me and walked off. Lord knows I could have went there, but I thank God for his spirit which allowed me not to react and respond as the world 💯

The Holy Spirit has touched on me with this. It was not even an hour ago that I was complaining to a coworker how I am trying my best to go along with work situations without getting upset. How I pray and praise before going to work only to get to work and get tested. I logged on UA-cam and this video was first on the timeline. My first ever seeing a video by you. Divine Order. Thank you for this. I’m now subscribed. God Bless.

I have learned not to react when I’m pissed off, through prayer and Bible reading, it helps but it’s a challenge, you are so right that negative reactions can lead to negative consequences. I stay mindful.

So blessed by this video. Since I was a child, I've grown up in a home that was set on reacting to situations not healthy and negatively. Thank God for his grace and mercy I can now learn how to properly access how to respond to situations the right way. Thank you for uploading this!

Definitely timely. I've been trying to work on responding time this past year, stress certainly makes it harder. Going through my Mama's dementia the last 7 years, now with a stroke and changing over to hospice. I'm the oldest of 5 siblings. It has been a hard journey and now having to really reach deep for strength, compassion and love. It's so hard to know if you're making the right choices in care. Tensions are high and I had 3 melt downs at the hospital. It's also so embarrassing.

Thanks for this Chrystal! I'm very emotional and you can tell when I'm agitated. At work last week, my supervisor made me feel overwhelmed with assignments and I reacted. By the look on my face, she could tell I was agitated and said "cheer up!" I realized later I should have just said ok, smiled and took a deep breath. This message was so timely for me and I'm going to be sure to respond the right way the next time. God bless you!♥️

This was absolutely amazing Chrystal. Thanks for sharing these words of wisdom with us. It's funny how sometimes we know the thigs we should do and still we don't do them....smh Just yesterday I had a situation where I reacted towards my sister with words that weren't filled with love.. sigh. Rather my words were curt, don't-care-ish and filled with sarcasm. The thing is immediately after I reacted I noticed what I said wasn't filled with love and I wished I had responded differently. I wished I could retract my react. Sadly I couldn't, as we all know too well once words are said we can't take them back. I asked myself "KEISHA, WHY ARE YOU LIKE THS??!?! I was like Lord, please teach me how to respond with love more often PLEASE. Then of course the Holy Spirit led me to this message that "somehow appeared" in my feed, made me chuckle quietly when I saw it. *Proverbs 18:21* is a verse I know ohh too well and I use it often. Still yet, at times, I'm way too quick with my words towards others. However, I'm a work in progress. At least I can say with surety that I am intentionally and diligently working and being better with my reactions. I'm working at responding with love more often. Thanks again, this was a blessing indeed.

Thank you for the lesson on how to respond and not react. I have never seen your UA-cam channel before today and I believe it was God directed. Just yesterday I reacted at work instead of responding to the situation. I was immediately ashamed of myself for reacting and the office saw the whole thing. I am usually calm and peaceful but not yesterday and my co-workers were surprised. I wish I had came across your video sooner, however, I’m so glad that I did today! Keep up the great work of God!❤

    Good day Chrystal.
    I just found your channel.
The algorithm angels figured I needed to know you.
I loved every bit of what I heard.
My family and a few friends often tell me I react too fast sometimes with harsh words or with drastic actions. No matter how good my intentions might be .... it doesn’t always look good. And it’s a fact.
There have been instances when I have responded and been proud of that and MANY where I have reacted and didn’t like the outcome.
Sometime get scared and freeze, and end up procrastinating. That too doesn’t take me anywhere.
I must say I have never really thought of life as mastering the art of how to React and Respond. When necessary.
So this video sure puts a lot into perspective for me.
    Thank you.
I liked, I’m subscribing and looking forward to hearing more.
    I’m Larrissa. A Cameroonian 🇨🇲 living in Shanghai- China 🇨🇳 .
    Thank you.

I needed this this this morning…I have ALWAYS reacted and barely respond..my son and I recently have been getting into a lot of arguments..I’m naturally prone to reacting because it gives me results …how ever I see that is not done in love. Not only am I breaking me down I’m breaking my son down..and I don’t want to do that. I was praying over my son and I this morning..and this video came across..thank you so much.
