What you call Ahiana restaurant is actually British -time band stand. Until I was in Shimla, 1980 to 82, a military band used to perform here in the evening. Then, it was converted to a restaurant.
Why you haven't included " Shimla Kali Temple"....! It is near-about Mall.... Half KM far away ! The most probably, Simla is named from Goddess Shyamla (Shyama) .....
Hi Amrita, there are many good hotels available all around. However, if you have budget and I would advise Hotel Willow Banks. Very good and luxurious property near lower mall.
It's beautiful at that time..if luck's with you then you'll be able to enjoy snow fall as well. Nights are bone chilling at that time so keep good warm clothes. :)

The title "10 things to do" is quite misleading to say the least, half of your suggestions were restaurants or eateries which are not exactly "things to do", they are "places to eat", things to do should have been, well, actually to do something, such as vistas to see or hiking etc.. other than that, the list is decent but not the best, i must say.
