Discovering the Majestic Lion's Mane Mushroom: A Forager's Guide

We decided to take a day trip to Rockport State Park in Concrete, WA. We were foraging and looking for a new wild strain to add to the culture collection, Hericium erinaceus, commonly known as the Lion's Mane mushroom. We found these two on a big old maple tree. It's amazing when you set out looking for a specific type and find it on your trip. This is a great State Park for the day with amazing trails and amenities. This park never disappoints, and we always find quite a variety of fungi.

@@masamunesword Nice , well western WA has a lot of potential for you to find one. More during the Fall time, but yeah great opportunity for sure. Check out the Maples when you see damage or dying trees they sure do seem to like them.👍🍄
