He's an enghanche / trequartista, a type of players which rare and tough to find in modern football nowadays.
That type of player are being phased out of the game. Pace and power is being prioritised over technique and skill, in the Premiership at least. Disappointing to see as players like Riquelme, Bergkamp, Cazorla were my favourites when growing up.
The last true number 10
They’re playing at your local Sunday league
What a play Riquelme was. When I was younger I remember when Brazilian teams used to play with Boca Juniors in Copa Libertadores and some of them definitely pissed the pants, the guy used to destroy many Brazilian teams, he is what we call “carrasco”.

Riquelme Analysis. Good.
One step closer to analyze the man who appears with the number 5 on your picture.
The man who had magnets on his boots was Riquelme's idol
Thanks for this golden video. Coming from a riquelme fan
Another top player , also shouldn't have been subbed against Germany in that quarter final game in 2006.
And Messi should have played. Messi and Riquelme with all the others, that was a team...
Rare to see Makelele be in trouble like that...
Amazing player. Football is too athletic and robotic now, the game has gone backwards. It has lost the creative and artistic element. When Messi retires there is noone left.
so true ...
even the so called creative players nowadays not excite me tbh ..
That's false. There are still lots of creative players after Messi leaves: Mainly, the elegant and press-resistant deep-lying playmakers (Thiago Alcantara, Toni Kroos, Verratti, Frankie De Jong, etc.), the no. 8/10 hybrids (De Bruyne, Luis Alberto, Coutinho, ) etc. Also, new generation of artists and showmen will also appear. Just wait and see.
Messi isn’t that creative if anything Neymar is the most creative player in the world nobody can match is level of imagination and invention messi is predictable
Amazing analysys! Greets from Colombia
Really good video keep up the good work ! A video of Maradona in napoli would be great to watch with your breakdown.

Delgado was a great player, key part of that great Boca team.
¡Buenísimo! Aún siendo hincha de River Plate yo disfrute esta victoria. Saludos

Redondo was an incredibly elegant 5, one of the best.
He played styles really too cool and pretty amazing 😘😘
Great work as always! Can you do something similar to some "artist" like totti, del piero, or some players in past?
Soy de Boca, y empece a seguir mas al equipo cuando llego Roman, cambio mi vision de futbol. No hay ni habra otro como el, el romantico del futbol, el "Torero"

Well does it matter though?
Cant believe how little views your videos have. Yb is evil.
What an amazing performance from Riquelme , stuff of legends...that pass to Palermo is pure perfection !
His ball retention quality is world class. He also had the vision and the passing quality. He embodies so well the archetype of a number 10 back in the days. Wonder if a player like him could perform in todays football.
As always, Piotr never disapoint in giving us quality content.
Thanks a lot for the comment!
Why did he never have a top flight career for the biggest European teams ?
@@Oakland510 I the 2005 or 2006 season he was elected by foreigner in La Liga, within Ronaldinho, Deco, Zidane, etc
People underestimate what he achieved in Villareal
A modern player with the closest resemblance to Riquelmes style is Paulo Ganso from Brazil. He had a brief, albeit unfruitful stint in Europe. He became a player who relied on none else than technical quality and vision after various injuries from his younger years. Some might know him, he was amongst the highest rated youngsters in South America at one point (with the likes of Neymar).
@@Oakland510 he could go to man united but he choose return to boca
El maestro, the orquestrator, the quarterback of the team. Long live the best number 10! Great video piotr!
Amazing analysis of an amazing player! I would also really love if you can make a Fernando Redondo analysis, I will be the happiest man If i see that 😅
Black boots. Smooth play.
Old school Roman.
Truly an argentinian talent. It was a shame when Maradona took him off. He did unsterstood Messi's talent and played so well with him.
Finally a video with my greatest idol in football. :D :D The last 10
There's a reason he's widely regarded as the greatest ever number 10.
The only way to get the ball from him was to foul him or wait for his retirement.
and the last number 10
This is right. I agreed absolutely
Riquelme isn’t widely regarded as the best number 10 are you kidding me? There’s guys like Zidane zico platini laudrup that are easily ahead of him and many more. Riquelme was exceptional tho
My favourite player of all time. I can only think of a few players/teams that had just one star that everyone depended on = Heliocentrism
Riquelme > Figo
Wilson Linda Jones Timothy Martinez Shirley
Thomas Christopher Robinson Amy Jones Deborah
GOOD VIDEO
Davis Jennifer Wilson Helen Miller Brian
The greatest attaching midfielder in the world
He perfectly mastered how to use his body.
That roberto Carlos goal was amazing too. Not why we’re here but shout outs to him.
A Mago Valdivia Analysis would be great!
