Really gotta utilize using charge to get away from morter fire or when you are in broadside range of the ship. Also, brace is your best friend. Just charge to keep your distance and morter, fire side cannons and repeat, if you do end up in close range. Ram the hell out of it towards the front, and turn your ass towards the front of it afterwards and burn it to cinders with the fire barrels. THAT is OP as fuck if you can lay them barrels on it for a good minute.
James Bigby try to avoid the mortars and use the waves as cover. Then if one of the other two ships late at the battle comes charging at you to avenge it's sister ship, lay down some burning oil and dish out heavy shot.
I'm there right now, the final battle left on ACR on PS3 in the bedroom, but somehow I defeated these ships on Remastered version on PS4 in the living rm. It's actually wearing me out on the 5th try. I end up defeating the Storm with little life left to defeat the two that follow. Hopefully a couple more times is all that's needed. 30 mortars should be default load. If frozen turkeys can take down a jet,, then that's what we need.
This ship battle was genuinely frustrating for me when I first faced it. Even with all the upgrades you can manage, you have to ensure that you NEVER get anywhere near the ship's sides, otherwise you're so screwed And if that wasn't enough the goddamn ship ends up getting two equally powerful ships for backup, and if one of the two sinks, the other becomes viciously aggressive and will try to ram into you to shave off an intense amount of health El Impoluto was tough, but you had the benefit of being able to board the ship and kill everyone inside with some careful planning, meaning you can technically cheese that one ship fight But you can't cheese this. From start to finish, you have to rely on your sheer guts, wit and outright bravery and need for recklessness in order to destroy this threat of the sea, and damn was it ever so satisfying
Nah it's cheesable. When the fight starts immediately ram charge and then you should be able to avoid the spawn mortar volley. Then veer left and hope to get ahead of the ship. At this point, just stay in front of it and absolutely drench it with fire barrel sauce. You can get it 50-75% dead and then also line up a few good opening broadsides from there. At this point the other ships will come in, but you still have a lot of supporting ships running interference and you can tank damage. You can probably finish off Storm Fortress with a couple mortars as it gets away. Welcome the other ships to hit you, then just drench them with fire sauce again from the rear quarters of the ship as you turn and give them a good broadside and they go down really fast.
@@lakecityransom easier said than done, the turns the ship makes make it impossible to try and stay in front unless you distance yourself from the ship but at that point the fire oil would be ineffective and those gunboats usually die way before you can use them as a distraction, either by the first ship or by the fact that they are too fucking close to you that they end up being a nuisance and ruin your ship even more since they make you halt

@@Pingwinho I have a few you might find useful. #1 Constantly use the icebreaker ram. Make sure your ship’s side is always facing the back of the storm fortress as to not give it a chance of firing at you. If they’re starting to rotate fast, either come to a complete stop or use the ram again. You don’t want to turn towards it because you want to keep as much distance as possible to avoid the broadside cannons. When you’re at a safe enough distance and angle that’s when you use every single mortar you have on it because that’s its number one weakness. Once you get it to its broken state and you have over half health left, that’s pretty much a checkmate if you play your cards right. #3 Bracing is your best friend. Even if you’re getting hit by even the tiniest and most insignificant thing or just feeling generally unsafe, always brace. You want to keep as much health as you possibly can as to not risk defeat. If you get too far away, you won’t be able to hit it with mortar fire and it’ll eventually be coming straight towards you. It’s important to remain in between both those distances to get the best chance of survival using tip #1. #5 Use the waves to your advantage. Keeping a lot of distance between you and the storm fortress can make waves almost serve as your shield especially if you got a little too close. Just make sure you keep yourself aware of which side the storm fortress is facing and also its location. #6 Use fire barrels and front cannons only if absolutely necessary. It takes a load of practice, but once you memorize the pattern you’ll pretty much be set for good. Even I have a few slip ups here and there but that’s just because it’s just not the same exact movements each time you have to do. It’s all randomized and just really depends on how you take in that information to your defense. I’m also sorry for making it seem like I was only here to brag about it. I had just wanted to share my personal experience with this battle over the years I’ve been playing this game. I hope these help as they did for me to whoever that wants to use these strategies.
I just met her. I know it's tooo late but you know, for me Ubisoft should rename "Epic Legendary Ship" to "Fucking unbeatable shit" How the hell can she kill me in just 2-3 min?
You make it look really easy man! It took me 10 tries until I finally quit so I searched on UA-cam for some techniques then I found that oil technique, I took me one try to get it done. Anyways just sharing, I love your videos man you're so pro in any games that you play most especially the AC series, keep up the good work!
I remember when I played with my brother to fight all the bosses, we played in turns and I was the one who won the fight, but now it's just a memory with my brother.......
Possible one of the most challenging and fastest man o war's I've faced, utilize the charge as much as possible and mortars and close shot will be your friend if you manage a good angle and hit
Took me three try’s before I got annoyed and looked up this video. I didn’t even watch the video. I just read the comments and saw how annoyed everyone else was. Did it again one more time and did it! It takes a lot of patience but you guys can do it, I promise
I beat it on my third try because I remembered that you have to get close to the Storm Fortress to do a lot of damage to her quickly. You just have to learn how to maneuver to stay away from her broadside shots.
Ace Gameplay I like the image but. One problem The jackdaw is an assasin ship it would’ve fought against shay, but not just that. It was a pirate ship. The man o wars would have probably been his allies
It would be great if an error of the animus make you cooperate with the Jackdaw, maybe the memory files of Edward and Shay mixed up and...boom! the Jackdaw appeared for help. I could write a fanfic about this idea 🤩
The key to win this mission is to CHARGE, CHARGE & CHARGE...I lost almost ten times before I learnt that i gotta use the charge feature wisely & dodge shots,.. once I realized that I beat the Storm Fortress with 2 health bars remaining 🔥🔥🔥...
Took me 5 attempts during my recent play-through and finally beat it for the first time, I’ve never felt a more truer frustration and then satisfaction from beating this challenge
I really wish you could captain all of these legendary ships. Because holy hell, all of these ships were hard to beat. Especially this one. It would be interesting to see the Storm Fortress fight the Gerfaut.
Thanks bro.. it works on my first try after watching this. The key is instead of do "breach", do "RAM" to avoid their canons. Its like cheating, you take much less damage while ramming.
Best tips I can give for this battle is to brace any time it fires on you, have the Morrigan maxed out, and use burning oil because that stuff does insane damage.
I still remembered how was so difficult to beat this final legendary ship even though you already have maximum upgrade on your ship. You also have a strategy to beat this legendary ship
I remember.... the nightmares, the nights without sleep, The sacrifices I've made, And now, I look at the 100% game completed bar and wonder, was it worth it? but I suppose only fate will tell me that
When i beat it the first time, i took atleast 10 minutes by being really careful and dodging the broadsides at all costs, i took atleast 10 attempts to do so, and the first i had really shitty upgrades. It felt like i conquered the world when i finally saw that colossus of a ship going down for once.
How come this game is still better than Skull and Bones which took 11 years to make and cost millions more?? Only Ubisoft can pull off this level of BS.....
I beat all the legendary ships with little difficulty but when the other 2 ships showed up in this battle I had wasted all my mortars so I just insta died
I remember going full John Paul Jones during this fight. By the time I took down the SF’s health to hard any left, and then defeated the backup ships, I had just the smallest sliver of health left. There was no way I was risking a broadside at distance, so I rammed into the ship and unloaded all my heavy shot into it.
I'm glad I fought this ship before I finished the video or else I would have known of the two ships that appear when the storm fortress is almost dead, I was in awe when that happened
Thanks for this video man you have helped me a lot, i did like 20 fails before i watched this video and with your help i made it in just one!! Hope you make more videos Of how to complete this difficoult videos!!😉👍🏻
Im currently playing through black flag again and I remembered this was the ONLY ship out of black flag and rogue I never beat when I was younger, i had all the upgrades but just couldnt beat it, I might have to play through rogue again now that Im older and avenge myself.😂
I just played this mission. It’s really about using ram to maneuver bracing to conserve health using the mortar for far and heavy shot up close. Try to maneuver your boat towards their rear. Also the last two ships decided they wanted to drive away from me at 760m away. It got to the point where I hit the arena limit and one of theme was out side it b
Well, it certainly was the hardest in the series, but i managed to beat it first try with a little bit over half hp by maneuvering the Morrigan away from broadside at all times.
Man this fight is insane, not only the Storm Fortress is a absolute monster, after sinking it two more legendary ships show up, like are you kidding me? This is completely madness.
the legendary ship battles should have been this hard, normal ship battles are easy, except if you get cornered by multiple men'o'war, but they should've put more really challenging battles in
Ayone still playing this? I thought this ship was impossible to beat. Well I got very lucky though, I beat it at my seventh try. The Storm Fortress is the hardest one. The other two sucks, just use charge then use broad cannons.
I mean it's a good idea, but if the Morrigan was a legendary ship, there would be no challenge. It would be boring. Trust me, from other pirate games, if you reach the top level ship, everything gets boring real quick
That thing took out a small fleet alone without support, and only lost because it fought the main character. If it's a real slug out battle with proper support, that thing would be nigh unstoppable
Bro I got ac rogue remastered Xbox one disk in 2018 and did the whole story all forts except one gang one and all legendary ships except this and defeated it legit like 10 mins ago my inner child is now at peace
Here's the problem with this Legendary Battle, (This is the same problem I've had with all the Assassin's Creed games from 3 and on) the battles aren't really hard, just really cheap, I won't say unfair but it does teeter on that line. Like in this battle, it pretty much breaks gameplay mechanics just to make it more difficult, that's not making things hard that's just cheaply stacking the deck in a way where it appears hard, but clearly Ubisoft didn't know how to make it difficult but not easy. This has been a problem since 3, they dumbed down the controls and mechanics, then here and there throw in a gameplay breaking moment and say the game is harder, clearly they don't know how to implement actually difficulty progression, actually making the game hard while sticking to their own rules.
It makes total sense an epic legendary battle with gunboats.

I know it's tooo late but you know, for me Ubisoft should rename "Epic Legendary Ship" to "Fucking unbeatable shit"
How the hell can she kill me in just 2-3 min?
Xenter avoid broadsides
Xenter You just suck
You have to suffer, and learn to be better at naval-battle unfortunately.
@@fosterrico5546 yeah that's true
Because you a noob
Yeah, this took me several tries to beat it.
Whoever made it so that this big ass ship is incredibly agile deserves a slap
Finally beat it after about 15 tries. Sometimes you just have to get lucky it seems.
Game forces you to work for your own luck
I made it after 5 tryes and ofc i make my own luck ^_^
I beat it on my third try because I remembered that you have to get close to the Storm Fortress to do a lot of damage to her quickly. You just have to learn how to maneuver to stay away from her broadside shots.
i beat it in my first, i make my own luck.
@@harrypathak3935 Congrats! I made this post 4 years ago. Man does time fly.
My plan was a hit and run tactic. Hit the Storm Fortress with a few mortar shots then use the ram charge to get away from the ship
Hit and run is definitely the best tactic for this one
Saw thousands of gameplays on UA-cam but never seen one with such clever and strategic gameplay
this ship reminds me of the jackdaw's sails they give you in the game
Even though the jackdaw was sunken long ago before rogue id really wish the jackdaw could have helped us in this Epic Legendary Battle.
Ace Gameplay I like the image but. One problem
The jackdaw is an assasin ship it would’ve fought against shay, but not just that. It was a pirate ship. The man o wars would have probably been his allies
It would be too op, the Jackdaw would sink the Stom Fortress with one hit ;)
_NarutoRunner_ the jackdaw would lose to the morrigan so probably not.
@@carlosgalindo1431 yes thag is true
jackdaw fight with morrigan would make more sense
It would be great if an error of the animus make you cooperate with the Jackdaw, maybe the memory files of Edward and Shay mixed up and...boom! the Jackdaw appeared for help. I could write a fanfic about this idea 🤩
Jackdaw was part of the Assassins ship no?
They would fight rather than cooperating
I've played all dark souls games, but man.... I cried like a little kid...
2:55 beautiful ship
I thought I was doing good until 2 more ships appeared 😂
Se a Ubisoft tivesse colocado Fragatas ao 0:06, teria ficado bem mais impressionante, tipo "nossa, o navio afundou duas fragatas com só duas rajadas".
Took me 5 attempts during my recent play-through and finally beat it for the first time, I’ve never felt a more truer frustration and then satisfaction from beating this challenge
Bro this was awesome thumbs up👍👍👍
I really wish you could captain all of these legendary ships. Because holy hell, all of these ships were hard to beat. Especially this one. It would be interesting to see the Storm Fortress fight the Gerfaut.
Finally managed to beat him and his two buddies. I will now name my canoe Storm Fortress in honour of this victory.
Epic Ed
Everyone: finally I beat it after 15 tries. But the funny think was I beat it at the first try with not fully upgraded ship I think it was luck.
Well,you make your own luck
haha yea me too w
Smol cute gunbots, vs 3 use bloody Man O War
Not even lying when I say this was one of the hardest boss battles for me ever.
Thanks bro.. it works on my first try after watching this. The key is instead of do "breach", do "RAM" to avoid their canons. Its like cheating, you take much less damage while ramming.
Best tips I can give for this battle is to brace any time it fires on you, have the Morrigan maxed out, and use burning oil because that stuff does insane damage.
if they really wanted to sink it, the HMS Pembroke would be there
I still remembered how was so difficult to beat this final legendary ship even though you already have maximum upgrade on your ship.
Only Ubisoft can pull off this level of BS.....
for every dev you have 10 plump HR ladies that not only suck all the money bad constantly berating the devs what can and can not do
I beat all the legendary ships with little difficulty but when the other 2 ships showed up in this battle I had wasted all my mortars so I just insta died
It took me 3 hours to beat that, i was litterly going to throw my joystick out of the window from happiness when i won lol
That ship just reeked of badassery. I was so happy when I finally sunk that 🤬
Those poor pirates
Dude, I can't do this. I'll have to celebrate your win and move on to the next game. 😂
Those ships were only there to distract the Storm Fortress
Id like to see storm fortress vs el Impoluto
Damn defeating the last ship with fire not something that I could ever accomplish
Now this shit was tough,
No intense music but intense non the less
I spent 5 hours fighting this monster but it was worth it.
Goddamn, you make this look so easy. I get one bar knocked out so quick
Oh shit I see why I couldnt beat "it" 😂 its because theres multiple...shit😅
I just played this mission. It’s really about using ram to maneuver bracing to conserve health using the mortar for far and heavy shot up close. Try to maneuver your boat towards their rear. Also the last two ships decided they wanted to drive away from me at 760m away. It got to the point where I hit the arena limit and one of theme was out side it b
I've never seen a battle like this before but it looks difficult as shit
Never thought that I will ever see a *Sloop o' War* sinking 3 legendary *Man o' Wars* 😂😂😂
After 10 years I managed to do it yesterday. It was a trauma for me in the past.
@balinttorok7025 Lmao yesterday? I just beat it yesterday, too. 😂
the legendary ship battles should have been this hard, normal ship battles are easy, except if you get cornered by multiple men'o'war, but they should've put more really challenging battles in
Me at my first attempt to beat this ship
me: Oh i almost killed it
*Argonaut and Sceptre SPAWNS*
Me: *Surprised pikachu*
LMAO
Ayone still playing this? I thought this ship was impossible to beat. Well I got very lucky though, I beat it at my seventh try. The Storm Fortress is the hardest one. The other two sucks, just use charge then use broad cannons.
My biggest flex that i deafeted it with half of every upgrades
That's impressive
Elden Ring players: We have the hardest boss!
Assassin’s Creed players: Allow us to introduce ourselves.
Even more legendary than el impoluto from black flag
I wish the morrigan could be legendary ship like the storm fortress
I mean it's a good idea, but if the Morrigan was a legendary ship, there would be no challenge. It would be boring. Trust me, from other pirate games, if you reach the top level ship, everything gets boring real quick
Bro your tactic worked for me. Thank you! I actually beat them!!!!
Size of Storm Fortress is not even that of a Man'o'war, it's something even greater level
Its almost insulting they send in 2 more ships when your about to kill the hardest one.
January 5th, 2021, I finally beat this fucking nightmare brothers.
I miss the old times do much 😪
That thing took out a small fleet alone without support, and only lost because it fought the main character. If it's a real slug out battle with proper support, that thing would be nigh unstoppable
Beated the ship in 1st try. I Wish there were more Legendary ship battles. Like 2 on each side of the map would be fine
Jan mihelič Pc have lower difficulty. gg
There are 7 legendary battles in rogue and The North atlantic map has three of them on the map, i don't see the problem dude.
Bro I got ac rogue remastered Xbox one disk in 2018 and did the whole story all forts except one gang one and all legendary ships except this and defeated it legit like 10 mins ago my inner child is now at peace
Super video
Nice video man😉
el impolto in blackflag is a piss when i see that ship,
and i defeated her with almost empty health bar.
thanks...ubi
Here's the problem with this Legendary Battle, (This is the same problem I've had with all the Assassin's Creed games from 3 and on) the battles aren't really hard, just really cheap, I won't say unfair but it does teeter on that line. Like in this battle, it pretty much breaks gameplay mechanics just to make it more difficult, that's not making things hard that's just cheaply stacking the deck in a way where it appears hard, but clearly Ubisoft didn't know how to make it difficult but not easy.
This has been a problem since 3, they dumbed down the controls and mechanics, then here and there throw in a gameplay breaking moment and say the game is harder, clearly they don't know how to implement actually difficulty progression, actually making the game hard while sticking to their own rules.
i wish you can make ships as your allies 😢
