I’ve been a boarding foreign student near Shrewsbury since 2013 and we’ve had trips to Telford all the way along. It’s crazy seeing this place developed and brought life into Btw great content, keep it up :)
@Athos Aramis well I took a nice stroll from Southwater all the way down to Ironbridge and it was one of the better walks I had in all of Shropshire, so the place is surely lovely and worth giving a visit. Also, they’ve got Wrekin. And overall people seemed to like it there. Except for some of the younger ones I’d say, but they’re always welcome to move to a big city for a while, just like I’m doing next year myself.
People forget south telford by fuckin Sutton Hill of all places literally has a golf course and four star hotel. That being said, I'm amazed I wasnt mugged through out my time walking back from school on the Silkin way.
lived here for 18 years and my family are from the area and the general consensus is Telford Council will approve any development regardless of environmental issues. it will turn into the rest of the west Midlands soon, an urban sprawl with depressing high streets and lack of green space
this place is disgusting... very satanic feeling with many people with mental problems ... the doctors the nurses the hospital seem as if they have joined the Jimmy SAVEL club
Let's hope they regenerate oakengats as the town center ripped the guts our of it and now its a ahit hole full of take aways charity shops barber shops and about 4 pubs that have managed to survive
Everyone is saying stuff abt Telford but do they really live there no, there are some exciting things here and bc it's a small town there is more communication and a nicer community so yeah-
I fucking hate living here in Telford. I was born in Shrewsbury but moved to Telford as soon as I was born. I lived in Wellington (Specifically an area known as 'The Gas Works), for about 8 years. For those 8 years all I knew was how shit the area was at the time. It was filthy, there were chavs everywhere, and people looked like they belonged on the Jeremy Kyle show. There really wasn't much to do as Telford in general is a rather unknown town to many, mainly because it's quite new compared to the other towns/cities in England. After those 8 years I moved to Leegomary. This was even worse. Just amplify everything I said about the Gas Works by 3x the original amount. I remember once that the council cut down a tree right in front of my old home and didn't move it for a solid 5-6 months. I spent about 7 years living in Leegomary before I finally moved back to the new area of the Gas Works with my dad (the new area in the Gas Works is actually quite nice compared to the old area). Now listen, I'm not shitting on the good people that live in the areas and simply either like living there, or can't afford to live anywhere else. I'm mostly saying that it's the vast majority of people that has made Telford into what I think as "Chav Capital'. Telford is just an eh place to be and I really want to move out to somewhere that I can actually stand living in.
Telford Development Corporation: We need to build low density housing. Also Telford Development Corporation: Builds Woodside. On a serious note, I like the Southwater development and the retail and commercial development going on, except for the bus station - that is so crap. What I’m not a fan of is the ridiculously expensive, cramped housing that’s being built everywhere nowadays
My bro used to live there, that was pretty eventful for him. And I got to experience first hand, the relentless deterioration of the cub scouting group. They got a great barbers on court street though.
Just realised that this vid was posted only months ago. I'm assuming this was filmed over a year ago considering Covid's impact on the hospitality and retail sectors. Southwater is surely boarded up right now?
Alas Telford is not the same when I was younger we had super Saturday it was massive, great fun for all it went soon after tdc left. Telford and Wrekin council are so corrupt it’s unbelievable!!!! If ya wanna come to the county pls take care as your entering patch work and pot hole county.
The filming of this is great and the effort put into the video is really good. However... Telford is awful. There are only really chain shops here and at the moment people should be shopping local
I have lived in Telford before it was ever called Telford . Telford development and now Telford and Wrekin council Waste money like it's going out of fasion . lots of iceing to make it look good but no cake underneath .£250m on a shopping center but the homless still sleep on the street .
Telford is just a meh place to be in my opinion. From my experience, everything is just the same. There's really no exciting events going on, the only remotely interesting place to visit is the Royal Air Force Museum, most places just feel dull. It's also not nice to hear that the area you live in is known as the 'Chav Capital' (At least from what I've seen on the urban dictionary 😂). I just can't wait until I'm able to move away from Telford and to go somewhere more...interesting. I'm not sure where yet but I'll figure it out eventually lol
@@user-cs1vz7vr9f It’s still a nice place , that’s what my point was but if it’s boring you then you should go on holidays to other places that are new ( Once it’s safe to do so of course !) .
