- Lemon Curd
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 80g (2.8 oz) unsalted butter
- 160g (5.6 oz) sugar
- Juice and zest of 2 lemons
Method
1. Start by adding the eggs and egg yolks to a saucepan and whisk until well combined.
2. Add the butter, sugar, lemon juice, and zest into the pot with the eggs, placing it over medium heat.
3. Stir the mixture constantly. Continue to cook until the butter melts and the sauce starts to thicken, becoming glossy and smooth.
4. Transfer the curd into clean glass jars, allowing it to cool to room temperature before securing the lids.
5. Once cooled and the lids are on, the lemon curd can be stored in the fridge, where it will last for up to a month.

Didnt realise it was so easy. Thx man. Defo wanna try this now
Same. ✌🏽
You Zoomers are just subhuman. I could show you a plate of rice and you'd think it's a miracle
Wow! So simple! I always thought it was complicated.
It's super easy except I only use egg yolks and I put the butter in once the curds starts to thicken. I literally just made lemon cheesecake with lemon curd as the topping. It's super lemony but so good.
Try it with oranges 😋
Lemon curd on a toast with cream cheese is like eating lemon cheesecake on toast 🤤
I’ve never tried this, but I will now. I love cheesecake! Thanks!
@@m.theresa1385the instant pot cheese cake is super easy to make .. you got to try it.. it takes 34 minutes to cook it comes out super creamy .. I’ve made them several times in the IP and I’ll probably not bake another one in the oven .. I bet Andy’s lemon curd would be delicious on a cheesecake..
Holy shit. Making this tomorrow 😂
@@DekarNLyou’re welcome in advance 🙂
@@m.theresa1385you’re welcome 😊
I just really love the little smile of that stirring spoon lol.
Oh goodness you're here too? I hope your day is as bright and sunny as a lemon
I like that you called a spatula a stirring spoon, lmao
My guy that toast sounded like it would hurt the roof of your mouth 😂
I felt it that in my teeth. No thanks
I was looking for this comment😂 I know it was all absolute fire, but my mouth felt that crunch haha
Every time he does toast it's thick cut and sounds like chewing gravel. My man has strong teeth.
@@jenniferthorne1 yea definitely looks great 😃 just would hurt my fragile gums haha, but I have sensitive gums to begin with, that's why I can't eat corn chips or Doritos even though I love them 🤣
@@genericuserid7283391 haha teeth and gums, that sounds like it would shred my gums to pieces haha
Straight up, if I got that as a gift I would be over the moon. You couldn't buy me something better
I haven’t tried this ever in my life. But somehow I just know it tastes absolutely delicious. Lol
It does!
Try a smear on a blueberry muffin, not too much! It's so good. Clotted cream is amazing as well!
@@f.miller9522I strongly refute the “Not too much” part! 😂
@@hangarratAmen to this! Slather it on there, it's the good stuff 😂👍
Oh you have to! If you love any and all lemon desserts, you’ll love lemon curd
Vanille extract makes it even better
Does it take away from the lemon at all?
@@liviloo87 no
do you add it before or after the heat?
I love using lemon curd for my lemon meringue pies! I love trying different kinds of lemon curd so I’ll definitely be trying yours. It’s looks incredible
Still waiting on the Cantonese family style dinner for Heun Wah please chef!
I hope your dream Comes true
This guy NEEDS his order filled . Noone is that patient and has asked for so long
I really like to add some orange zest and juice into my lemon meraingue pies
@@user-zi1kr4kd1v I couldn’t do it without you guys keeping me going 🫡
@@shadxwrblx I hope so too! Thank you for the support 😊
You’re absolutely right, it IS easy to make - I’ve made it before - and it IS delicious! The only problem I have with lemon curd, I can’t resist just eating it with a spoon! SO GOOD!
Everyone's got their thang. I once watched a woman perfectly peel an orange, separate the sections and neatly eat them using only a knife and fork.
@@updownstate
That’s so random lol.
I make a lemon curd as a topping for a lemon cheesecake. It's delicious!!
Used to be my absolute favourite before I tried passion fruit curd 🤤
Ooh! I love passion fruit!
I didn't even know that was a thing...but now I've gotta have it!
Mind almost blown, maybe, …
Lilikoi butter. Super popular here in Hawaii 🤤
Thanks, Andy ❤ Times are tough and Santa needs all the help she can get. God bless you 😇❤
I'm currently without an oven, living in a hotel... But I have a stove top. We can't bake a pie this year, but this will do wonderfully for a dessert for Christmas. Thank you for sharing!
Are you ok? It's just temporary accommodation, yeah?
@@dipitickner1927 we're doing the best we can. Its been over a year now, but the housing shortage is real here. Hard to get a place when they want you to make 3x the amount of rent a month (average cost of a two bedroom is around $1200 USD/mo here) and my husbands employer cut their hours with another cut in the next few weeks. Rentals don't count my contractor delivery job as income (but a mortgage company will) here, and sadly our student loans disqualify us for a home loan. So we got caught in the extended hotel trap. We pay $413/wk but... And I laugh in frustration... Rental properties don't count in the fact that if we can afford $1600+/mo we can afford to pay them rent. Heavy sighs. I am grateful for the roof over our heads. Its better than being on the street. My son also lives with us and has health issues that prevent him from working, and a lot of my time is spent taking him to and from drs and specialist appointments. Hence why I don't have a real job. A real job won't let me have time off in short notice or even long term notice, not with the amount of appointments my son has.. He's trying to get on disability but its going to take awhile. He should be approved, but the government likes to take awhile to decide such things. I have an air fryer, a stove top, and a crock pot. Did you know you can make ribs in a crockpot? They're not as good as being on a grill or broiled in an oven. But they're edible. I'm going to try and do a Hawaiian Ham in the crockpot for Thanksgiving. If it works, we will try it again for Christmas. If we had the extra money I'd get an airfryer oven so I can make a pie. I have the fresh (now frozen) pumpkin just need the oven. All and all as frustrating as it is, we are still blessed. We are considering a move to a different state where we might be able to make more, and this particular state has better health care providers and has some really good health practitioners that are familiar with my son's health issues. Mainly Fibromyalgia and Hashimotos Disease. He's going to be going to be subjected even more testing as they think he has chronic fatigue syndrome but they have to rule out all the other possibilities of his fatigue first. The fibro has been the most difficult for him as he's in constant pain. He sleeps a lot to counteract being awake and being in pain. He's only 24 and is facing a life time of agonizing pain. I worry about him, he's depressed and anxious a lot too. We're just doing the best we can. Its all we can do, and I know this won't be forever. Just seems that way sometimes. I like watching Andy because he gives me ideas of new and different things to cook for my son and husband. Keeps my mind off the stress. I'm the happiest when I am cooking.
Christmas is pretty far away. Maybe you can get an apartment by then mate
@@TonyMarselle I really hope so!
I'm going to try this and if I'm successful I'll make a bunch for gifting. Thankyou !🙏
great idea
I wonder about shipping. How can you make sure something like this gets to the recipient without damage?
@@BrendaCreatesBest bet would be to hand deliver it.

- 160g (5.6 oz) sugar
- Juice and zest of 2 lemons
What are the mesurments?
I’m from Ireland and I grew up eating lemon curd. But I never found it in America so I made my own for over 40 years. A little while ago in one of those international stores I found lemon curd the brand I used to eat as a child. As they say you can never go back because it didn’t taste very good at all so I continue to make my own.
Perfect 👍
I felt the roof of my mouth cry with that bite.
It is “absolutely delicious”! 😋
(Can be made on the stovetop or even in microwave too!)
