The river in the folklore of many peoples is the border between the world of the living and the dead. She turns to her deceased parents: she asks for advice and blessings. An orphan girl is faced with a choice - to drown herself, committing the sin of suicide, or still accept the circumstances and "go with the flow". What will she choose? This is decided by the audience together with the performer of this song.
3. The reason why some listeners prefer Diana Ankudinova early performances lies in her subsequent choice of another "school of vocal technique". This choice became the subject of fierce discussions between fans and quite worthy musical figures.

Песня написана по мативам древней легенды о бесприданнице дохристианской Руси. У славян были священные рощи, в виде тотемных деревьев каждого члена семьи. Такое дерево сажали родители, когда рождался ребенок, со временем образовывались целые рощи, считалось, что в них заключается часть души человека. Славяне верили, что жизнь после смерти не исчезает, она меняет форму. А река (вода) выступала в роли свящуещего между мирами (Явь - мир людей, Навь - мир мертвых, Правь - мир богов). Девушка в легенде идет в лес к роду в ту самую священную рощу (к богу Род, он олицетворение первого отца славян и родителей вообще, для славян верховный бог - это родители - РОД, выше Рода только Белый Свет (Ра), отсюда так много русских слов, содержащих в себе это сочетание: радуга - Radyga (буквально изгиб высшего света), радость - Radost' (то, что даётся свыше), даже правительство до 17 века называдось Радой (дано свыше, богиня света). Работа ( Rabota) - буквально усилие, которое нужно приложить для достижения света. И даже название нашей страны произносится RAssia/ у иностранцев O
Rasha (буквально "здесь высший свет,"дана высшим светом", вот так древние верования живут в названии страны. Но вернемся к песне, Девушка просит благословления у Рода на свадьбу, ибо "нету у меня отца, матери, а коней полон двор и гостей полна горница", а благословить некому. Поскольку это языческие верования, переплетённые с пониманием духов во всем, весь мир для славян был живым, даже камень. Диана в песне имитирует звук волчицы в виде воя (волк- тотемное животное у восточных славян, призывающий божества (в данном случае Род, в Явь - мир живых) имитация шелеста живых деревьев, и обряд успокоения реки в конце. Это не просто песня, это обрядовая песня по призыву бога Род в мир живых по старинным приданиям легенды.В конце река уносит Род обратно в Правь (мир богов) и происходит обояд успокоения реки.
Это самый настоящий славянских фолклор восточных славян.

In 2018 Diana first sang this song in the singing competition 'You are super' (she was 14 years old).
This international TV competition is unique in the world and was specially developed for adopted and orphaned children. It is designed not only to give positive emotions to children who do not have a prosperous childhood, but also to hope for changes in their destiny.
Diana entered the competition 'You are Super!' in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to UA-cam and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start studying and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy, as a juror, gave her a small apartment in Moscow. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. Some years ago she said this song was so emotionally draining that she found it difficult to do in concerts. She left it out of a performance, and the audience made a point of asking her to perform "Rechenka" for them. Yet, her way of singing the song is still experimental. She has performed it many times, and some of those shows are available on UA-cam. It is the song she has used at the opening of her stage shows for quite a while. A particular change involves her starting to sing with the stage completely dark. And her interpretation changes, as well. You might want to take a look at the concert she did with a group called D/A, as in her name. It even includes a backup voice. The musicians are terrific. "Rechenka" opened the show in a truly unique fashion. She is an endless ocean of emotional entertainment with a once-in-a-generation voice. Thank you for your fine reaction. 👍
