my smoke fluid is fogjuice that you can buy for 5 dollar per liter, its the stuff that gets dumped into the smokemachines in the clubs and disco.
glycerine is also possible but its way thicker than fogjuice and harder for the wool in the coil to absorb, so burning is more risky.
my best results came to use a mix of 50%glycerine-50%fogjuice

So if I were to make two of these, attach the outputs via parallel connector to a single pipe, replace the switches with MOSFETs and an Arduino controller, I could have one on for one minute then off while the other turns on. Basically halving the duty cycle and allowing it to be on constantly.
Vape shop employee here. I'd recommend against this, if you want a constant flow, I'd recommend buying an actual fog machine that's made to be run for long periods of time. On the inside of the tank there's cotton, as he showed in the video. If you run it for more than a few seconds, it will burn the cotton, potentially setting it on fire if you leave it too long. It smells terrible, and could be dangerous. As he says, these are meant for vaping, and using it as a constant fog machine is not a great idea :P

Which is not a reason to take down the video - people who want to DIY will DIY anyway, and people who prefer buying something premade that's known to work, will buy it.
@@ThiefMaster the videos are back i think. Which probably hurts his business because the price alone is 5x the amount of the bare minimum you need to build one on your own. You can get the vape pen housing and coil for 3 bucks at a vape store (canadian dollars) or a tank and coil like he uses in this video for 15 bucks. The motors are cheap af on ebay, but you can order from amazon since pandemic is slowing things down. Wire is cheap, shrink wrap is cheap, chances are you're using this with a limiter switch to turn it on, those are dirt cheap on amazon and ebay. Honestly the pen design is prolly 25 bucks tops and this design is 40 bucks tops if u know where to look. No need to charge 100+ euros

Great tutorial! I wish I had seen this before I built my own system. I ended up using a 2 litre bottle as an air tank with a small 12vdc mac valve. It does the trick for short bursts but I have to pump up the air tank frequently with a small bike tire pump. Definitely going to invest in some air pumps next time around.

It's probably worth mentioning that the power leads you are using are only connected to TWO of the batteries. That was a bad surprise for me when I tried to connect a radio-controlled switch which has 12V relays on its PCB...
Also, if you plan on building this: soldering the wires to the fire button is a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS since the connectors you need to solder it to are TINY. No reason against building this of course, just something to keep in mind - this part is most likely make you curse the most while building it.

What was your total cost?
This looks just like what I have been looking for for a Cosplay project I'm working on. How long will this run before the batteries run down? My project has capacity for a couple car batteries (size & weight), but I want something that could run for hours at a time. I can also have a big juice container to fill the unit to keep it going. Just wondering if I should go with these batteries or get something with more endurance.

Hey Wayne! Not sure if you recall my question about feeding the smoke thru a manifold set up for a junkrat wig. This set up may just give it the push it needs. However, i waa hoping to run it off cell phone battery charge banks- faster to switch out batteries and charge thru the day. I think your old video used a similar set up. Would those have the power to run this much tech off it? Id also like to run a similar rig for the smoldering coal lights for the hair tips, if i can ever get the resistor issue sorted out. I have them running, but to use a flash module, they need resistors, and i suck at the math for those.

I'm trying to make a Dalek gun with a co2 fogger & looking for other methods than a co2 fire extinguisher. What do you think of an air compressor & a vape fogger device? The compressed air makes the force wile the fogger makes the smoke. I need an opinion, you think it would work?

I have a question about the mini switch! I you want to add lights with the mini switch but it only has three points of connection, would you put the positives together and the negatives seperate or do you add both wires on one hook or what do you do? Thanks!

Alexandria Winters run it through a separate circuit/battery as the vapes internal batteries already get drained too much with the airpumps hooked up
LEDs can stay on all day. Wire those up separately for sure so you can stay lit all day.
I'm running mine on a separate battery pack. Simpler system in my case, i want them on and when on flashing in cycle. Not options for other patterns.
Hey man I just made one of these and installed it in my RC Godzilla which now breathes atomic blue fire with the help of this and a blue LED. I want to put a wireless relay for it and my LED. Any idea on which to buy ? Thx man

Still no replacement yet.... only found 75W on a a single cell. I could maybe mock up 3 of these but they are not a cheap units. at 105-175USD per pop for the base modle.
Also the Eleaf melo 300 is DC'd as well.
100-300W for huge vapor production. What I'm also having trouble with Is a lot of the atomizers are listed in ohms so like 75 ohms and converitng to this watt range is not working for me. So far 300-watt panel produces 240 volts, which equals 1.25 Amps is as far as an conversion. T-T
This one looks promising given their track recorder with previous models. I would still need 2 of MicroFogger 5 Pro which makeit it expensive but being able to run 2 lines off of these for 7 min full up time would be nice.

There is also the Smoke Genie cost as much as 2.5 of the MicroFogger 5 Pro. It does run hotter from product testings I've seen on youtube for it so maybe not ideal if you have to house close to your body.

Last is a smaller output fog that can run 3 amomizer at a time. COSCLOUDS 2 I was planning on buying their FOG diffusers either way to feed off of some tubbing.

Looking to put together a couple of these for an upcoming build, but the link for the batteries seems to be dead. I did look up those batteries, and they have a continuous 20A rating, 40A burst, but the RX300 specs call for at least 25A. The only 25A+ batteries I can find are 1500mAh (compared to your 3k). How important is that difference in discharge rating, and do you know of a substitute brand/battery you might recommend if the Listman isn't available? Also, with your 3kmAh batteries, about how long can they go before recharging, and would a 1.5k mAh battery set drain too quick to be practical? Thanks!

Well it can over saturate yeah, it's not corrosive so it won't eat away your coil or anything, what I tend to do if it sputters and bubbles I take the top off and blast the coil with airduster, that sprays away all the excess juice, run it for a bit after to clear it off the remaining stuff and then refill if needed

I got as far as hooking up the first airpump, but the second I put the batteries in and close the door, the whole thing gets so hot that it almost immediately starts nearly burning in a matter of seconds

Yep, I totally screwed something up. So I slept on it for a day and figured it might be the two soldering points for the power supply. I redid that step, cleaned it up and added more heatshrink, that fixed the problem and thankfully I didn't damage any of the circuitry (or burn myself).

Are the batteries rechargeable??
Yea! They're Lithium ion batteries, 18650s to be precise. You can get them at pretty much any vape shop, or online. I'd recommend a vape shop, because they've got the ones that are made for these types of devices.

I don't think this is a bad/stupid question. The coil runs on 300W as max power, that's 40A at 6V. Each battery provides 3.7V, so 2x2 in parallel+series would give you enough voltage. But I'm not sure if putting batteries in parallel is a good idea in general.
What I CAN tell you though is that you have the same ~8V on the two power connectors used for the fans regardless of whether you have 2 or 4 batteries inserted. So either they only use 2 batteries for the electronics and only all 4 to power the coil, or they have 2x2...

Make your own using distilled water and glycerin that way you can control the thickness by adding or thinning the glycerin in your mixes
I have never used or made any cosplay stuff. I do do art. I’m a multimedia artist and use these ideas in numerous of other ways I’m sculpting a yard concrete dragon. He needs some smoke for definition of attitude to match the facial feature.

Hi there.
Nice tutorial, i've build a smoke machine for my own project with this.
If you do this modification on a RX300 or similar you really NEED a fuse in the power-line of your Pump (as near as possible to the 18650).
The RX300 itself has a fuse that will prevent shorts on the 18650, but if your weld on cables, like in this tutorial, it can happen inside your selfmade circuits.
A short will lead to glowing hot cables and or EXPLODING 18650!!!!!!
Adding a fuse is 2 minutes more work and will cost like 2€, but it can prevent heavy burnings and injuries!!!!
a fuse could be added, however a short outside would either happen by exposed wires (never have wires exposed) or the airpumps shortcircuiting (which is unlikely to happen) but hey, safety first so a fuse can be added indeed-
