Oh wow. We thought this was a light hearted romp like Toy Story. So we watched it with our kids who are 4 and 6. By the time us adults realised this was going to be about loss, our kids were already so riveted by the story that we warily stayed with it.

Im writing this RIGHT after binge watching this short show and my thoughts on Lost Ollie, If Shakespeare wrote Toy Story. This mini series made me cry HARD. The last episode made me fight with my emotions trying to hold back very very painful tears clinching my teeth my nose getting stuffy and gripping on my phone I was watching. This mini series has it all! The twists work as twists should. Where Shakespeare shines is in the third episode when it’s main focus is Zozo and it gets really really Dark. The scene that I’m sure made everyone else feel how I felt was when Billy’s mom can see Ollie and what she whispers to him. Lost Ollie definitely gets a 10/10.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything deep at all. Just thought it was a feel-good Toy Story-esque series that me and my dad could passively watch. But I was

In my personal opinion, this show meant a lot to me. Although I was a bit upset and shocked that zozo was the villain since that one moment when he was like "breathe with me.." made me think "aw this is a wholesome moment" and then later on he's like "okay I'm gonna rip you apart stitch by stitch." But this show was amazing. Especially rosy's character development. At first, she was saying she didn't care and was confused about the reason why she was there. But she is one of my favourite characters. To be honest though, my favourite scene has to be when they're on the train and singing Jolene.

I like to think the different toys represent how Billy sees the situation he is thrown in. Ollie represents wanting to go back to simpler times, back when his mother was alive, and back when everyone was happy. Rosie represents how he probably felt alone after his mother died and abandoned, and Zozo is a bit of a stretch, but I think it represents how he sees his dad reacting to her death maybe?

Now this is what I consider fantastic writing at 1st I felt the dad was kind of being a Dick to Billy but I didn't know why why and it was because he was suffering inside knowing his wife was dying or possibly dying and it was making him hurt and bitter and the story is written so well that it keeps you just where you need to be until pretty much the very end we're even what The Teddy bear was told from the dying mother my mother told to Billy as an adult to his own daughter is Finally revealed it was heartbreaking and made me cry it was such a sweet awesome amazingly beautiful movie that I wish would be shown in art schools and directing schools it's in directing schools and theater for people to understand how to construct and make a beautiful movie that is riveting

Made me legit cry in a way no story has in a long time. What surprised me most though was that I couldn't hate or condemn Zozo, even at the end. An empathy which I did not feel for Lotso. I think it's because while Lotso was filled with hate, Zozo was filled with pain.

if I'm being honest I had a hard time connecting with this series and the pacing was a little awkward, but having lost my mother at a young age Billy's loss was something I could deeply relate to. I absolutely love Rosy though, she was my favorite character and I really wanted to see her get a happy ending. her character design is adorable and cool

I wouldn't personally call being bullied by being called 'a baby' "ready to grow up" - Billy is being pressured to grow up, and, whether or not he's truly ready vs his mourning process doesn't really get addressed. I get that the nature of this show is simplified as it's told through a child's eyes, but it's one thing to lose his parent, another thing to say goodbye to childhood entirely after a couple of people make you feel bad for engaging with something he links so strongly to that parent he's lost. Ollie isn't just a toy, he's an item he personally bonded over with his mother after she made it for him.
