Ame lo de " Fake natural make up" en Corea haha 😂 es una realidad y desde mí punto de vista lo que más destaco es que los latinos no tenemos problemas al describir aspectos no tan positivos de nuestra cultura. Por el contrario he visto otros videos similares y a los coreanos les cuesta bastante hablar del lado "no tan lindo" de su país / cultura 😅 y mucho más cuando otro se lo dice....

tbh something I realize after the Korean culture is that here in Brazil we don't use the word "cute" for adults. But not like a conscious thing, It's like the concept of this word is different from Korea, it don't actually exists.
It's used mainly for children and pets. Even so is a word not frequently used. People change this for other adjectives. For example, if a girl see a boy doing something that seems cute she probably will say "he's beautiful" or "he's funny" or "he is like a kid". It's interesting. As I'm used with the korean concept of cute now, I sometimes call people and things cute. But still sounds like a conscious thing I do ^^
the word for cute in brazilian Portuguese is "fofo" (male) and "fofa" (female)

I'm from Panama and it kinda saddens me that no Panamanian women were shown in the pictures. The one with the gloves is Miss USA who won Miss Universe last year and the other one is an Ecuadorian girl who won a reality show. I am aware we do not have this worldwide known female personalities. However, I wish you would have gone for a least previous Miss Universe participants as there are plenty of choices from all races to showcase how diverse we are.
I understood the context about the Dominican woman's doubts, it's understandable, since the media sells stereotypes to the world, basically when foreigners come out of their own bubble, it is surprising that most Brazilians are white, not black and that anyone, even Asians may be common in Brazil. I say more, adding the plurality of skin and people in Brazil, our passport has become one of the most sought after on the black market in the world

Es interesante saber cómo la belleza de una país está muy relacionada con el estatus de esa persona tanto a lo largo de la historia como en la actualidad. Especialmente, me parece muy curioso el estándar de belleza que existe en República Dominicana, debido a que lo largo de la historia desde la llegada desde los colonos españoles, la piel blanca reflejaba un mayor poder económico y político (un mayor estatus social), lo que habría contribuído en que a día de hoy esté muy presente la idea de ver una persona "blanca" como más atractiva, por el hecho de que teóricamente va a proporcionarte una vida más "cómoda" y "próspera". Algo me imagino muy parecido a otros países como Sudáfrica que, a pesar de estar mucho más alejado geográficamente, habría tenido algo en común en ese sentido.

El ser humano ha sobrevivido a lo largo de millones de años por una serie de circunstancias y comportamientos. Su comportamiento tan selectivo probablemente se deba justamente a que le ha permitido sobrevivir. LA gente tiende generalmente a buscar lo que considera que es mejor para ella y, por tanto, si la gente de piel más clara tiene la característica a nivel general de ser más rica y tener una vida más confortable, eso va a hacer que la gente sienta mayor atracción hacia ese tipo de personas.
En el pasado el estereotipo de belleza eran las personas gordas, por el hecho de que si te casabas con una persona más delgada, probablemente tenías más facilidad de morirte de hambre.
En la actualidad, yo creo que es igual. Si en el entorno donde vives la gente de piel más blanca tiene mayor probabilidad de supervivencia o mejor calidad de vida, la gente va a querer que su pareja sea de ese color de piel más claro. En un país o región donde las personas más "blancas" y las más "morenas" tienen la misma igualdad de oportunidades, la gente no tiene un estereotipo de belleza específico.

No creo que eso sea "machismo" o "embrismo" siempre y cuando esa persona esté agusto con lo que hace y pueda cambiar sus roles indistintamente o ser tratado como le gustaría.

I don't think the preference for long hair has to do with status I think it's probably about it signifying femininity because in almost all cultures men tend to have short hair and women tend to have long hair regardless of being poor or rich.
I cringe at the aegyo done in Korea, but I'm sure aegyo is prevalent in other countries also. It's not on display as much as in Korea. For example, watch the movie Clueless in the scenes when Alicia Silverstone talks to her father or even her step brother. There's a lot of aegyo in those interactions. And I'm sure anyone who has been in a relationship has seen aegyo from their partner.
In india only sometimes but mostly we don't use aegyos too it's too cringe😂😂😂 i don't know why korean people like it... it's good for dramas but if someone talk like that to me in real i will have weird expression... Dongmin, I live in Florida very close to WDW which a lot of the people who work there are different nationalities, so I see women from all over the world. There are many beautiful women from every country you can think of, but I must say I think the South Korean women are not only very stylish but very conscientious about how they look. The Dominican girl said that they would make fun of her for her hairstyles as a little girl but if you actually grew up in the DR, literally every girl wore those same hairstyles lol. Toda vez eles colocam modelos como padrão de beleza brasileira 😑 definitivamente esse é o padrão imposto pela mídia e que antigamente quase toda brasileira queria ser (alta, magérrima e de cabelo liso), mas acho que a realidade atual é outra a maioria dos brasileiros tem como padrão de beleza corpos atléticos/tonificados com aparência de saudáveis (não que as modelos não tenham cara de saudável 😅) e tbm ter uma bunda bonita.

Nos EUA (e suponho que na Europa tb), ficou comum chamar os latino-europeus de sul-europeus (Southern Europeans), enquanto aqui na América dividimos entre latino-americanos e americanos, ou norte-americanos, às vezes.
Como não se usa a terminologia latino para os europeus no dia-a-dia, toda vez que a palavra latino é usada fica claro que se trata de latino-americanos.

Pq francês vem do latim e é considerado "chique" assim como, o italiano. Talvez isso (posso estar errada) foi por causa das colonizações, como europeus colonizaram as américas nos deixaram com a fama de " inferiores".

As a brazilian who's a huge fan of kawaii fashion and the "cutsie vibe", it really bothers me how I'm frequently judged by people here as if I were trying to "infantilize" myself by wearing cute fashion and makeup. Meanwhile, 13 old girls dressing up as 22 yr olds in clubbing attire is completely normal. Its frustrating considering a lot of our "hypersexual" culture stems from gringo perceptions of us. It's almost like we buy into that narrative at times.
People should be allowed to wear what they want. In cute clothes or sexy clothes, a grown woman is still a woman, and a child is still a child. Simple as that.

It may be out of context i am from india and we don't actually have any beauty standards 😂😂😂 it depends on the person which type of man or woman you like because it's such a mix country we have people who literally looks so black also we have brown tone people and very very fair people or potato skin colour people depends on which side of india are you living South of india people mostly have tanned black skin, because the state is near oceans and it's hot,in north india people have more like fair very fair skin tone,in Northeast india people looks different from rest of indians some looks like japanese,chinese,koreans,or from thailand etc. So rest of indians feel hard to recognise them when they visit other states of india they think they're from different country northeast is more of like mixed people from each and every country in one small state...before we used to have beauty standards too like fair skin but as we developed now no one even cares if the skin is dark, brown or fair but mostly people hate man with makeups it's a big no but still some people are starting to accept....but generally women don't prefer guy with makeup here 😂...even many women don't prefer makeup for themselves we believe in more like natural beauty we roam naturally without being the need to think that people will stare us without makeup

Same I was confused ( Dominican here ) I mean most of our food in the Caribbean is very similar but I as a Dominican, although we make Mofongo; I know that it's known to be a Puerto Rican dish. I was surprised that she didn't say Mangu.

What I see is that many Latinos tend to talk as if all of Latin America were the same, curves, tanned skin and all that is the beauty stereotype of Caribbean countries and for example in the south the standard of beauty is pale skin, thinness, etc. Which is completely different from the rest, but Latinos who travel abroad perpetuate these stereotypes that we are curvy, tanned, dance well and blah blah blah
