Love this band, but Conor's gotta be more of a front man and not just a singer if y'all are really going to get off the ground; and trust me I certainly hope y'all do.
Pretty sure with over 2 million views in of their music videos, they've already gotten off the ground. It's just hard to stay relevant as an alternative rock band in a world where pop is constantly dominating and with many bands solidified as mainstream, most non-mainstream bands either change their sound to adapt to the needs of the majority (All Time Low, Panic At the Disco!, Paramore, Fall Out Boy) or they eventually fall from grace/huge gigs holding on to the sound that made fans fall in love with them in the first place (We The Kings, Mayday Parade, All-American Rejects)
And Connor's vocals are constantly challenged in order to make songs like this, If I Get High and I'm Not Made By Design. Have you tried playing an instrument while belting out really high notes? Not falsetto, but full-on diaphragm pressure amplifying range and dynamics? Because I have, and I can't sing MCR songs while strumming a guitar because it's hard to brace while changing chords alot. Connor can get away with it in Drawing Pins and Soda, but in songs like this, he NEEDS to focus on singing and singing alone.
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
