TOTALED! A First 2023 Mazda CX-50 Turbo Was Wrecked

- It was really just a matter of time until this happened. Last month several online automotive news associations including Car Buzz, Autoevolution, and Car Scoops reported a 2023 Mazda CX-50 that had been wrecked and damaged already. The CX-50 vehicles had been on sale for a little more than a month when this news broke.
The damaged CX-50 was one of the original allocated Turbo Premium Plus models in Polymetal Gray. The photos published on Copart, a salvage auction platform, show the front and rear of the vehicle severely damaged. Inside photos showed the steering wheel airbag deployed and no power seemed to be available perhaps from the battery being disconnected.
Copart auctioned the totaled vehicle on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. They do not publish nor share winning bid results since some vehicles are rebuilt and some are parted out.
I wish the best to the previous owner of this vehicle and hope that they were able to find a suitable replacement.

Just totaled my 2022 cx-5 sadly, but no injuries. Walked away with just a couple bruises. Will definitely be getting another Mazda. Thinking about getting a cx-50
This has been discussed by other UA-camr a month ago I guess. I was surprised that the rear glass didn't Crack, this car can save lives.

Jonathan I have a question but it's not about the CX 50. There's no news on a 2023 CX 5. I've been binge watching the CX5 videos for a year now and finally decided on the Preferred package that being said are they discontinuing this model?? Doesn't make sense not everyone want or need an off road type of vehicle (CX50). Shoot it to me straight 😌 . There's nothing else out there that I like enough not even at the dealership I work for .
There's definitely going to be a '23 CX5 - I would imagine it releases later this Fall. By '24, the latest generation of CX5 will be starting to get long in the tooth and so who knows after that ...

@@JSS I'm a CX-50 TPP owner and I appreciate this video. It's great to see real world examples of the car getting in accidents. From what I've seen, I have incredible peace of mind knowing how safe myself and my passengers are in this vehicle.

Looks like it, but not sure, it may have just been reclined for the driver to get around the airbag

Charcoal grey is a terrible colour safety wise..it blends with the asphalt/road daytime...and especially bad at dawn , on a rainy day or foggy day awful...perfect colour to get rear ended
