Many thanks for you. I remember following several of your older techniques as well. This is exactly what I was looking for. Never know you can do that to the skirt. I normally just do the princess seam, but this heavy fabric I’m working on is not quite right for any darts.
Hello dear, pls do I also need the shoulder dart at the back? And after all the dart manipulation I should just place on fabric and cut straight and join? Thank you
Wow sis iam new here, watching the way you talk, I really inspired with your expression, tq for the good and very talented tutorial of yours.. watching from Malaysia here.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, this literally helped me with the one thing I have been stressing about for a while now. Could you please make a video now on how to make a dartless dress block smaller?
wooooow interesting,i understood this very well, please could you do a video on basic bodice blocks sleeve dress etc then i would know how to make them dartle ss
Hello E28, this is a wonderful tutorial...but my point of worry is the hip line, it was disjointed during the manipulation process and the hip line is no more perpendicular to the floor, and the side curve isn't as it was before. Please can you clarify me on this
Zazy, I tried her method on my pattern and it works. You can redraw the hip line. The side seam can always be manipulated to the shape of the body with fabric. Hope this explanation helps. Peace.
Ma please you said that if I want to make it two places that top and skirt, I should measure the waist fill up and share it half to the top blouse and half to the skirt to achieve skirt and blouse, well understood. My question is how do I manage the arm hole side for both front and back blouse to be equal. I have taken my side dart but due to the fill up, my front side is longer by 1 inch, please help. My back waist length is 16 while my front waist length is 18. Please I will await your quick response thanks
From what I’ve always understood, it can be helpful to tape a length of paper from the bottom of the armscye to the bottom of the skirt and draw a new curve to smooth out the waist and add the width that you took out back to the bottom side (which shouldn’t be too much)
Thanks dear.L's how do I make d bottom flare still without visible darts. Was thinking of slash and spread but am not getting a proper result. Will be grateful if u can help💕
Thanks for this video. Honestly I have been trying so hard to get my darts eliminated until I found this video. Please having eliminated the darts and I still feel like adding only the bust dart, can I still go ahead and add it? Thanks once again.
Good morning ma. Please I need a little clarification ma. I tried this dart manipulation but after every thing, I noticed that my circumference measurement like my hip and others had reduced so please I wanted to ask if I can place the manipulated draft paper on another paper and use it to draft out while increasing my measurement to get my actual measurements correct, please your response means a lot , thanks
My question is would this eliminated dart pattern affect the measurements of the person And my second question is am I supposed to use this eliminated darts on the pattern paper to cut directly on the fabric ? Like would there be a need to still put a dart on the fabric ?
If the skirt becomes longer, you can shorten it. A tight dress may mean you need a bigger size. You can add looseness at the side seam...no more than 3/4 inch or your sleeve will become affected.
This video was brilliant and so well explained but can I ask a question?? Is it possible to remove the darts from the skirt front but leave the darts in the back of the skirt?? I am copying a dress and there are darts in the back but not the front.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My question is, has this not affected the position of the waist at the side seam? Even the hip line would have been shifted a couple of cms lower.
So interesting 😂 I'm new here today My questions pls Will the shoulder not be shorter as needed, and when u extend it to the appropriate size, will it not be wider? And 2ndly, will the upper bodies be fitted? Thanks
I tried it but then my back and front waist lines didn’t match up anymore at the sides, the armholes too, neither did they align at the hem. If I tried to make it work at any point something would totally be off like if I tried to align it at the hem, the armholes and the waistlines would look so damn off
@@olapejufunmilayo167 thank you for this. I’m in the process of using the front pattern for the back as you said because my back wasn’t aligning also. My question is when you tried this method, did it give a fitted look? Your response will be appreciated
Heya, I have done this for my front bodice pattern piece which originally only had one dart in front the shoulder to bust. I then followed your tips to transfer and then remove it. But now it doesn't look like it will align with the back piece which was designed with no darts originally. Should I transfer a back to to the back and then use the same method as you showed us to remove it so that they will then match up? Thankyou so much for explaining this all so clearly ❤️❤️

Thank you ma'am for the encouragement
I just saw this video, and I like it. My question is, will the garment still fits perfectly well with the dart, elimination?
God blessed you
I tried it and the dress fits perfect
doesn't this make the side seam longer than it should?
Very good explaining and showing.

What can we do if the side seams are not measuring equal after eliminating the darts?
Thank you so much ♥️
This can also be done for a shorts or trouser pattern, right?
Thank u. It is very helpful
Can this work for any fabric ma . Can it work for stretchy material
This method look simple but how do you make up for measurements that are lost in the hip, knee area

Did you add seam allowance to the pattern ma
Thanks dear.L's how do I make d bottom flare still without visible darts. Was thinking of slash and spread but am not getting a proper result. Will be grateful if u can help💕
Draw some diagonal lines about half an inch from the side seam to your hem and you will get the flare.
Thank you so much. God bless you.
Please, when stitching a dartless dress, do you use exact measurements to close the sides
Thanks for this video. Honestly I have been trying so hard to get my darts eliminated until I found this video. Please having eliminated the darts and I still feel like adding only the bust dart, can I still go ahead and add it? Thanks once again.

How many inches did you use on the shoulder dart

does this method work for knit fabrics or only woven? thanks for the tutorial!!
It will work on both knits and women's. Try it out.
Thank you so much!!!! 😘😘😘😘
You're welcome
So nicely explain
My question is
Is this an Slash and spread method ? And could we eliminate dart with pivotal method ? And how?
Well, this method is pivoting in that the dart is placed somewhere else.
Thanks a lot for these
I need to know how to make the basic patterns. Please
My question is would this eliminated dart pattern affect the measurements of the person
And my second question is am I supposed to use this eliminated darts on the pattern paper to cut directly on the fabric ?
Like would there be a need to still put a dart on the fabric ?
Can these work on a busters gown ?
Is it only for tight dress cant be a bit loosen? and what about skirt dart ,if the skirt longer than knee. Thank you dear for the good explanation

Yes, you can leave the darts in the back alone. You will sew them up during garment construction and achieve your perfect fit.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. My question is, has this not affected the position of the waist at the side seam? Even the hip line would have been shifted a couple of cms lower.
Please what do I do if I want to add a bust dart to these two?
Love this!
Thanks. How do we make sure side seams are same length
Measure then and match them up by extending or shortening as required.
Is the hip not too small now?
So interesting 😂
I'm new here today
My questions pls
Will the shoulder not be shorter as needed, and when u extend it to the appropriate size, will it not be wider?
And 2ndly, will the upper bodies be fitted?
Thanks
Wouldn't side seam be too long
boa noite! linda aula. teria alguma coisa em Portugues?
Thanks for the tutorial. Those your eyes heeeen. Pls don't look at baba Sikira too much o make e no lock u down o. Thanks
Lol.... I'm already locked down😂😂😂😂

Thanks 👍👍👍

I think you should try again. I practically used the same pattern for the front and back. I only added zipper allowance to the back.
@@olapejufunmilayo167 okay, thank you, I would
@@olapejufunmilayo167 pls did you add shoulder dart at the back?
@@chidimmalinda3998 no I didn't

Thanks for the tutorial. But what if I choose not to put dart on the pattern while drafting since I don't want dart. Is there any implication for this
No there is no implications.... Just draw your slash line as normal
Which is slash line?
Without darts the garment doesn't hug the body tightly but it's the same size anyway
You are stunning
Covid has scattered all the plan oo but we thank God we are still alive
Hmmmmm.. Life is the most important thing... Can't wait for all of this to send..... The world is gonna change after Covid 19
What happens to the lost measurement on the hip
True up the line correctly.
So that means that the whole darts now come to the waist.
Ma will it add to the length of the pattern.
Whyyyyyyyy you don’t have subtitles for all languages?????😢😢😢😢
Nice, but d hip measurement will no longer be correct, and might end up not fitting if d person is not using a strechy fabric
Thanks darling

You just need to true up the lines correctly on your front bodice then match it to the back as was done in the video. Hope this helps.
@@haddiewillsburg1453 hi, do you mean .tracing out the front pattern for the back and then adding zip allowance? Your response would be appreciated

No, it eliminates the shaping you get with the dart.
