  • A privilege to take part in a NATO Mountain Warfare Exercise supporting a gorge rescue. The scenario sees a solider require extraction from a very challenging scenario and receive urgent medical care. The demand for blood plasma is provided by the Jet Suit pilot who can respond instantly and cover any terrain very quickly in any weather. As it’s an exercise the pilot minimises risk by following the track.

    You get a bunch of people saying "These will never work"
    Yet a lot of groups have shown interest and obviously if professionals see potential id rather trust that than a bunch of youtube commenters who don't event realise this tech is still in development

    For some of these tasks, I think that a drone might do better, having to carry less weight than a human body, so that would provide more range as well. Also a drone would fly there much faster and on a straight line given the GPS coordinates of the target. A human pilot would only make sense to do stuff that humans do while on the ground, like physically helping in some way. Also it would help to develop a hands free version of this (maybe a gimbal mechanism at the end of a metal pole that supports the jet engines), so that a pilot has both hands to use for other things while in flight

      Yeah, it seems like they'll just use both. Different niches, as in needing or not needing a person somewhere in a specific amount of time and equip, will require the jet-suit, drones, a helicopter, or something else entirely.
      You probably understand, but it seems many people don't.

So I just played some pretty casual games on LAN with my brother, like we are on opposite teams but we just do those things where we just train up huge armies and then do a grand battle... For all here taking about drones. You need range, battery, software for full autonomy, connectivity and a butt load of things. Which is tough in situations like hills, low light and dense forest.

    • @DuBstep115
      @DuBstep115 2 роки тому +1

      Why would you need full autonomy? This jetpack suit is not fully autonomous so why should the drone be? Also drones have 2x the range compared to this and it could have delivered that same packet for fraction of the cost and no change for furter casualties.

  • @anhatur
    @anhatur 2 роки тому +4

    It makes me think: It should be possible to design a jet suit powerful enough to lift two? Perhaps with the added person strapped to the chest, like they do in parachuting?
    But what would that do to the weight distribution? So perhaps rather strap the back pack to the passenger and let the pilot be at the front? It would be hard to do with a stretcher at least so what are the options? Perhaps let it be.
    But power for load bearing would be great at any rate.

      theoretically until the air is too thin to power the turbines. so a few 1000m, but you have a death zone from 10 to 200m above ground or so in case of engine failure because the parachute wouldn't have enough time to open and slow down enough, so it is too dangerouse to fly high altitutes unless it is to bridge relative small gaps like the pits shown in the video.

      he could obviously fly ABOVE the trees if he wanted to, come on now... also, imagine a scenario where the pilot locates the injured person before the rescue-team arrives, giving him the supplies he needs to sustain him in the meantime. imagine locating and rescuing people stuck in the snow after an avalanche or any other scenario where having a person on site really fast can help tremendously. all i'm saying is don't let this single video limit your view of what is possible with this technology.

      I'd imagine it is a little harder to do stuff when you're way high up but the inventorman did say it was possible but he just didn't do it for I think was safety reasons and stuff.. Way I see it, speeding on the road is a faster, the jetpack can be faster than common land vehicles and does not need interacting with rough terrain

    The EU says its sanctions against the Kremlin in the light of Russia’s intervention in Ukraine could involve suspending some military co-operation.
    The ambiguities of national positions and limitations of Western leverage aside, there is one particular area which should immediately be on the table for discussion - exports of military equipment and military technology transfers that are taking place between some EU countries and Russia.
    Germany is expanding its military exports to Russia.
    Among many others, one sale is particularly worrying: German authorities sold to Russia a state-of-the-art brigade-level training facility, which is currently available only to the most technologically advanced Western nations.
    The order is worth over €100 million.
    It will enable Russian brigade-sized units to test combat readiness for combined-arms operations, using Rheinmetall equipment to simulate realistic battlefield conditions and assess troop and staff performance.
    This will be not a step, but a leap forward for the Russian armed forces and their capability to conduct large-scale conventional military operations.
    The German deal constitutes a significant transfer of technology, with sensitive computing and communications hardware and software ending up in the hands of the Russian military - to be studied, copied and built-upon in the future.
    *It means that for Germany - Russia is a partner, despite its aggressive behaviour in Georgia in 2008 and now in Ukraine.*
    There is a link about it.
