I agree with what you say, but in USA they often black out tv coverage of games near the arenas, Sharks, Bay Area blackout for me, so you can actually see other teams more often on tv, if that is all you can follow. Even the NHL app will black out the local team for 24 hours, so why not follow a different team?
The St. Louis Blues. Born and raised in the STL area so they've always been the local team. Love the combination of blue and gold in the jerseys and the logo. Not to mention Towel Man counting off goals when the Blues score and the Power Play dance. Love going to Blues games.
One thing I would give as a reason to support the Kraken is that, unlike every other team where the fans understand the game and know all the players, if you're new to hockey, you can learn along with the rest of the fanbase who has no idea how any of this hockey stuff works. Like, in broadcasts, if something unusual happens, they do a pretty good job of explaining all the rules so that someone new to hockey can understand it.
I agree. New team, New fans. I would've loved that when I first got into hockey. Kinda weird they gave Vegas a huuuuge edge when they started (still love that team) and not Seattle. Their draft was weirdly really bad
As an Ottawa native it's been a tough time for us Sens fans since their decent postseason run in 2016. The owner, Eugene Melnyk, actually passed away about a month after this video was posted, and regardless of his management decisions with the team, may he rest in peace. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the team.
Awesome information man. I’ve always been interested in hockey and the oilers have always sparked my interest. And I’m gonna stick with Edmonton. Much support from the uk 🇬🇧
Growing up in Ohio and playing hockey when the Jackets first started, CBJ will always be my number one. Other than that I tend gravitate towards underdogs like Buffalo and Ottawa. I always like to urge people to cheer for their local team since it makes it easier to attend games and gives you a much stronger connection to the team.
grew up in Ohio as well! And not only that, but my dad is a big hockey fan, and I was born in late 2001. And because of that, my middle name is Odelein, the first captain of the team!
I descided to commit to hockey. I watched it a lot when I was younger but never picked a team. Its kinda difficult to follow the matches because I am from the Netherlands. But the Sharks caught my eye. Thankyou for this video! It helped a newbie like me a lot!
I grew up a Boston fan and still am of course. Like you mentioned Boston has been very fortunate with all of their teams winning somewhat recently. Sports culture in Boston is just so special the people there absolutely love their teams and it is for sure a great hockey city.
Became a new Hockey fan since I started watching the sport several years ago. I became a Devils fan because I liked their colors, their mascot, and because they're just natural underdogs against nearly everyone. They remind me of myself sometimes because I've always been an underdog in life and have always been counted out, so I felt like this team was best suited for me
I had no clue who you supported when watching this video (until San Jose of course) and that’s amazing. I suppose that’s the point. No clear hate or love for or against any team. Even talking about the Sharks it wasn’t bad bias at all
Love this. I need this for soccer. As a philly fan, I do feel the need to clarify that we only throw batteries at people that deserve it. If you're cool and nice and chill, you can be wearing a cowboys T.O. jersey and we'll give you a hug and hand you a beer. If you start getting out of hand and actin like T.O., yeah you're gonna get a full can of beer "tossed" in your general direction.
@@TwistedWristerHockey I love that Philly fans get lumped together as animals for some shit that happened at a football game when Eisenhower was president. Seriously. But this was a great video, man. Love the concept.
@@rc150 thank you! I’ve been watching some more premier league (mostly b/c that’s what’s on TV) but with the Internet I can watch anything lol. Really, I’m having some issues looking past the flopping, but generally, I just want a team that is willing to get a little aggressive and fight to win. Maybe they’re (potentially) willing to run through a penalty to try and score a goal. Bonus points for underdog teams. Superficially, I do like the name and look of crystal palace but don’t know anything else about them lol.
@@camero220 Hah we're probably in reverse situations. I'm a football fan in London who for the first time can finally watch all the NHL! Flopping is a great name for it! That made me laugh! Palace are known for being a good community club, very invested in helping the local area (one of London's younger, poorer, more diverse suburbs). Reputation on the pitch is that of underdogs capable of the big upset from time to time. They don't really go for the cups though so most seasons are about fighting relegation or promotion - and beating Brighton! No massive highs. Burnley might be the biggest scappers. Not dirty but surviving on physicality rather than technique, and rarely getting turned over. My local club Arsenal always top red cards, but it's more stupidity than fighting spirit! 😂 I wanted the same in NHL, have I chosen well in the Bruins? They get a bad rap on some US networks but I don't see any angels out there!
One top reason that made me pick Coyotes was OEL. Ekman-Larsson was the most incredible defenceman I ever saw playing. I know he's in Vancouver now but after you commit to a team it's hard to change
Great video! As a brazillian I chose the Boston Bruins as my NHL team because I was always a Celtics fan and then when I got into baseball I fell in love with the Red Sox, so it didn't make much sense to me to root for a team outside Boston.
I'm from the UK and over time became a Penguins fan. Was also a semi-fan of Avalanche and Kings about 20yrs ago when first getting into hockey. Love watching any NHL games, but I think choosing a team when you're abroad you just go with your gut. Excellent video though to cover each team and help make a more informed choice!
I remember getting a Mighty Ducks cap in 1995 when I was 9 years old. I had no idea what the logo was or even what NHL was. When I found out I started to follow Anaheim's results and became a huge fan, rocking all sorts of Ducks merch like backpacks, pencil holders, pens, jackets etc. Then they brought in Teemu Selänne which was even better :) But in the last decade I've noticed myself paying less and less attention to the Ducks, because the roster seems so boring, and I have to admit that the lack of Finnish players has an impact as well. Now I pretty much root for any team that has interesting Finns on the roster, mainly Colorado, Carolina and Florida.
This is my first UA-cam video that I've felt the need to comment on. This was a fantastic video to a new fan from the UK and definitely went into good depth for all the teams and trying to match personality types to teams. This really helped me get a great jist of all the teams and what they stand for and where they will heading in the future. Cheers!
not a canadiens fan but you should cheer for them. Bright future and culture and its an amazing atmostphere when they play at home. One of the loudest fanbase. Don't know if you already have a team but I recommend the Canadiens.
Really cool video and I actually learned some things about these teams. I've been an Oilers fan due to growing up in the area and watching my first hockey game in their '06 cup appearance against the Canes. I've played hockey and followed the Oilers since, and grew up listening to my parents' stories of the Oilers dynasty from the 80's with names like Gretzky, Kurri, Messier, Coffey, Fuhr, Semenko etc. These stories seemed far away for the longest time, because when I got older, the Oilers were still going through the "Dark Ages" after '06 and going through a lot of management/coach/player turnover. Fast forward to now, where we have probably the best player since Gretzky in McDavid, flying with Draisaitl and some other hard working lads. I feel like there are some parallels to the 80' dynasty, and that we have built a competitive team identity again. A lot of pride, history and expectation in the fanbase, but a really fun and talented team to watch.
I grew up in edmonton and was a kid watching the 2006 stanley cup final run. Ever since then I've been on board, even if I haven't been watching every season. Lately they've been very fun to watch.
Honestly as an Australian I had absolutely no exposure to Hockey at all but my first NHL game I watched was a NY Rangers game and I’ve stuck with them since
started cheering for the blues based entirely on a tierlist that ranked their fanbase as one of the best. (also because of geographical location, they’re the closest to me besides the kansas echl teams.) will definitely take some suggestions from this video, though! love seattle’s mascot and jerseys, and the stars seem chill!
Great video. I have to agree with you about San Jose. I’m a Pittsburgh fan and several years back my husband took me to a Pens Sharks game in San Jose and we met some amazing people there. Definitely has a great fan base.
A good score of Penguins fans will crowd the Shark Tank when they come to town - had the fortune of seeing 3 games during the Crosby/Malkin era. We're much smaller in numbers now with the way the team is, but I'm not going anywhere (well, I did move out of state, but figuratively that's what I mean lol).
There are many answers to this. 1. Be a Homer. Cheer for the closest team to you. This can be hard if you're from the American Midwest or northwest territories. 2. Cheer for the team your dad cheers for. It makes dinners very exciting because watching your dad explode can be amusing. 3. Find out who your brothers or family Cheer for and pick a major rival. Leaves room for tonnes of gloating, violence and possible heartbreak, 4. Pick a team thats doing good now. It's the bandwagon effect. Everybody loves a winner, but remember, things come full circle. Your team could be shit within a few years. You can be a Tampa fan, they have a dynasty going on now its hard to deny the great essence of that team. Colorado is another team who has become increasingly better. 4b. Be a fan of a team who's recent history has been extremely good or won cups in recent memory. Pick Tampa Boston, Chicago. 4c. Pick a team who has a great player on it. McDavid for instance the oilers may not win, but he's a helluva player, it makes cheering foe thst team exciting. 5. Pick a team that is just the shits or one who has never won at all. Youll gain the wrath of your peers and the sympathy of fellow fans. But remember, when your team finally wins, rub it in! 10 fold! Be a coyotes or leaf fan. The fan bases are disenfranchised and are dying for a winner. 6. The beercase effect. If you buy a case of beer and it has the hat of a hockey team inside it, become a fan of that team. That way, you have team merch and UT only cost 20$ I know a guy who became a Seahawks fan this way. 7. Don't become a fan of a team. Become a hockey fan. That way you win all the time. Playoffs are much more enjoyable when your team isn't being continually ousted.
I appreciate the love you gave the other creators. I am a huge THG/Shannon fan, as well. I think, of the NHL guys I have seen here on UA-cam, you and Shannon are certainly the best.
Back in '11 as I was first becoming an NHL fan, I set myself the "task" of finding a team to follow that A) wasn't already one of the established "powerhouse" teams but B) looked like they might be on their way up. I settled on the Wild. While they still haven't figured out how to get past the "out in the first round of the playoffs" level, I'm keeping the faith. :)
I became an Avs fan in 2018 because I had to do a presentation about the state Colorado in English lesson. After that I fell in love with the state so it wasn't really a question which team I should root for when I started watching NHL.
Great video, as always, Nick. Also wanted to note that I like that you stuck to your opinion concerning the hawks, and that you didn’t try to euphorise their situation at the moment.
Thanks Justus. I'm all in favor of the existing fans continuing to do just that, and if they acquire new fans, nothing wrong with that. I think it's important everyone knows what has happened in recent years though 👍
As a Leafs fan, my message to anyone considering following us is “don’t”. They’ll take years off your life due to stress and not even deliver on anything; since our latest first round exit this year I can’t see us winning a cup anytime soon
im originally from St. Louis, but I moved to Columbus for my undergrad. There, i finally started going to NHL games and fell in love with the jackets. Now, i've moved back to missouri and cheer for the Blues but my heart will always be with the jackets. Also a huge fan of the Kraken.
I've been a hockey fan for about a year now, even though I live in KY, I chose the Islanders just because of how fun to watch they were last season and how passionate the fans were (and still are) and i wanted to be apart of that so bad, I absolutely cant wait for next season to watch them again 🧡💙
Respectfully, for any non islanders fan (obviously every team is great to watch as a fan), the islanders are not very fun or at least exciting to watch.
I become a Winnipeg Jets(2011) fan because I like fighter jets like F-15 Eagle and Strike Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet, etc.
@@TwistedWristerHockey Rampage games were a lot of fun man, that’s what got me into hockey. Absolute bummer that we lost them but hopefully we’ll get another team in the near future
My Blackhawks have been on the downside last few years but hopefully we can get better. Despite the allegations, you can’t deny the greatness of Toews and Kane and the great play of Duncan Keith (before he signed with or was traded to Edmonton) and the Stanley cups won with Corey Crawford (before he retired) and we have an electric goal scorer in Alex DeBrincat. We have a great history with the likes of Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Glenn Hall, Tony O (Tony Esposito), Denis savard, Pierre pilotte, Ed belfour, and many others. I’ve been a hawks fan since 2006-07 and it’s been a wild ride as a fan for sure
Seattle fan from Australia. team basically got announced as i started getting into hockey, though why not follow the newest team being new myself, plus they have sick logo and sweater
I've been following the Rangers since the 2014 finals (which had a sad ending unfortunately..). But I have high hopes for the upcoming seasons! Great video as always! Cheers from Sweden
I've been a Rangers fan since birth, went to my first game in October 2010. I hope to finally see the Rangers win a cup, especially with an elite goaltender like Igor. It was sad to see Lundqvist end his career without one.
Seattle Kraken, I currently live in Southeast Alaska and my son was born 2 years ago and needed to go to Seattle childrens hospital for treatments 2 weeks after he was born and we were there for 5 months for continued treatments. The city and doctors of Seattle were so unbelievably amazing to both my family and myself and I can not say in words how much I love the city of Seattle and appreciate all they have done for my son and wife, as a result I now cheer for all Seattle sports teams including now the Kraken.
Don't forget Amalie arena( Home of the Lightning) is the only hockey arena with two Tesla coils hanging from the rafters and when they light them off it's loud!!!
Vegas Golden Knights. When I was a kid, my brother had a PS2, and we played an early 2000’s NHL game, and we loved Anaheim because of the Mighty Ducks movie. But as we grew older we moved away from the PS2 and stopped playing NHL games. In 2017, my friend, who is a rangers fan, told me about this new team, and I started following from afar, checking scores and stuff like that. After their success, it brought me closer to the sport of hockey. I’ve been watching VGK seriously since the bubble playoffs. I feel they deserve my support because they brought me back into the sport of hockey.
I'm italian. Nice video! In my country unfortunately this sport isn't very popular but i am very very interested in it since the quarantine 2 years ago. I choose as my team Boston Bruins beacuse the 1st game I saw was Bruins vs Canadiens and i know their rivality. I choose them also for their colours, mascotte and their history.
Australian fan who played an old NHL game on the SNES (possibly NHL 96?) - I just started a season and picked the team with what I thought was the coolest sounding name, best looking logo, and best colours combined. Ended up with the Colorado Avalanche. Been a fan ever since!
Nashville Predators for me. I play guitar and listen to a lot of country & blues, favorite colour is yellow and love big cats. Plus Roman Josi is one of the most fun players I watched this year. 👍 This video certainly helped me pick, thanks dude!
I came across ice hockey accidentally. I was 11 and we start getting a tv channel with American sports. In Southern Europe no one knows nothing about hockey, or baseball or American football. It was mid season 86/87. It was love at first sight for the sport and for the Oilers with Gretzky, Messier, Lowe, Coffee and others. Flyers had a great team and there where Lemieux’s Penguins. Bruins were great also. Later that year Canadá cup 87 with that outstanding Canada team. And the Soviet Union was always a must see. Really strong. This is why I am Oilers fan and have special sympathy for the Flyers, Penguins and Bruins (great season this year!)
I’m English and played nhl 21 and laughed my ass off so decided to watch this video and see what teams I like currently leaning towards the San Jose Sharks and St Louis Blues
south florida native here. been a panthers fan since i can remember (1999-2000 season). i was born the same year the franchise was founded 1993 woot woot. growing up we would go to baseball and football games. but they were always so hot! so when i went to my first hockey game , i fell in love with the atmosphere i never wasted another penny at other sports events again. now i have a little panthers fan his turning 9 this year and all he wants for his birthday was a new jersey and tickets.
I'm a francophile, so it's "Allez les bleu, blanc et rouge!" I live in Boston, so wearing my Canadiens sweater is a definite NG. It's OK to root for multiple teams. I have a Ray Bourke sweater, so I wear that one and root for the Black and Gold.
i jumped on the bandwaggon of florida, even though they lost 4-0 to tampa im still gonna roll with them, watched almost every game during the regular season cause i was tryna watch the best team and they won my heart
I recently got into ice hockey and went to my first ever one. My local team called Bristol Pitbulls. Was suprised how good it was. Must be mad to watch a NHL game, way bigger arenas and obviously big branding!
Being born, raised, and native from West Borneo, Indonesia I've been cheering for the Oilers since highschool. This is before I watched hockey or know anything about it, I don't even know who Gretzky was or anyone in NHL. I don't know why I just like them and I think it was the first NHL team I followed on Instagram. Also being from tropical country where cold only exist in the fridge it confused me and anyone around me how on earth I even like hockey in the first place lol. Regardless I love this sport and hopefully one day soon I can learn to skate and maybe play my first hockey game.
I love seeing fans from all over the world, especially somewhere tropical like Indonesia! I actually visited Bali a few years ago and had a great time. I would be amazed to see hockey develop over there, although I know of Thailand hosting a couple of tournaments. There's always roller hockey, or even ball hockey! If you're curious, here is my Bali vlog: ua-cam.com/video/uNscEeiUd3w/v-deo.html
@@TwistedWristerHockey wow nice! I'll check that out. Fun fact we actually have national ice hockey team and even a national hockey league consisted of 4 team pretty much sharing the same home ice. Not that impressive but it's definitely a start. Unfortunately for me the nearest ice rink is 500 miles away and separated by literal ocean lol sucks to live on an island sometimes..
I grew up in Los Angeles but the celebrity culture of the Kings just doesn’t draw me in. I got into hockey by watching the Avalanche vs Blues series happening right now, and to be honest the Avalanche stole my heart. Haven’t been this emotionally invested in a sports series for a while
I follow a couple different teams but my main would probably be Nashville. So for them I'll say the fan experience is fantastic and has that college/soccer atmosphere. If every other team hates you cause you're rowdy and can make a fun time you must be doing something right.
Watched this in 2024 I started watching hockey when Johnny Gudreau was in Calgary, and I thought that team was the most fun to watch that season. I liven in Columbus, so when he came to our team, I was excited. Now my love for both teams is cemented in the tragic death of Johnny and his ties to both teams.
I first rooted a little bit (8yrs-9) for the Detroit Wings, then rooted for Dallas Stars(16-26) I’m thinking about rooting for the Toronto Maple Leafs. My favorite color is blue.
100% sharks fan lived in a bay growing up not my whole child hood but most important part and all my relatives live bay just got sharks merch been outside sap and I love that make arena look like water
After watching some of the SC Playoffs last season, I wanted to give hockey a shot this season. Since I'm from Georgia, I wanted to watch a team I'm closer to. So it was between the Preds and the Canes for me. Both team are fun to watch and liking the non traditional teams make a name for themselves.
They made for a great postseason series last year, and with them being in different conferences, it's easier to root for them! It would be fun to see them play an outdoor game one year in Atlanta.
not a canes fan myself but they have one of the most fun and entertaining cores in the entire league with guys like aho, svech, necas. great group who should contend for many years to come
Australian and I am a proud Coyotes fan. I fell in love with the franchise from EA NHL 94. A year on and this didn't age that well - ducks or blues. Also, think we came into the league at the same time as your sharks and have won just as many cups.
i live in the UK and i’ve been a flames fan all my life simply to the fact my dad lived in calgary for some time. But then i fell in love with the players and the battle of alberta and haven’t looked back.
I started watching the nhl in last year's stanley cup finals and, since i live very close to tampa, i chose to root for the lightning. but since i also understood how bandwagon works, i shyed away from full rooting for them. this video came in perfect time for me to choose a team for next year.
@@pianosbloxworld4460 I used to think that way too when the flyers had their annual round 2 exit. I’ll take that over this crap we got now. We can’t even win the regular season
Great video. Became a hockey fan over the last few months. I honestly love to watch every team and all the players. I feel like you can appreciate the sport a lot more when you embrace the NHL as a whole. But have a growing affinity towards the Rangers as New York is the most similar city to my home city London. And the team is defo one to watch
Ducks fan here! Anaheim is such a fun team to watch and the Freeway Rivalry games are the best. Zegras, Drysdale, Milano and Terry are the future of the Ducks. So say it loud and proud Ducks Fly Together!
after the ice hockey world championships this year hockey has been all over my youtube recommended never really been too interested ngl only watched the goals of the final match between finland and canada. saw this video and thought why not i guess i could choose a team. cool video you gave a lot of insight for new people trying to get into the game
Thank you for this video! Years I have wanted to get more into hockey. I live in Indiana though, so we don't have a team in our state in the NHL. Because of football and basketball, hockey is not a huge market in the area of the state I live in. I know I'm surrounded by legacy with the St Louis Cardinals Chicago, Detroit, Philly in Pittsburgh, even Columbus, I also grew up in the mighty ducks film era and have always had some interest in them. I have decided that I want to actively try to watch hockey this year. I'm starting as kinda of a clean slate and I am excited to see where my attention ends up!
The NHL is gets more exciting each year as the game evolves to a more skill-based game! Not saying I don't like a good fight now and then, but the athleticism and speed of these players is pretty bananas. I'm actually in the middle of a fan guide like this for the upcoming season 😃
Coyotes fan here. First of all, we have Kachina. Secondly, we have a lot of draft picks and a potentially good future. Thirdly, our cult franchise player is Shane Doan, and he's an absolute chad.
If I like the newcomer, I would show them to teams with lots of success recently, like Lightning, Avs, etc. If I didn’t, then I would introduce them to the Leafs.
@@monkeygamenow3731 I know, but most people looking for a new team to support will lean towards the ones doing well. I was born into Leafs fandom by Leafs parents though
Honestly this video is just gold! I am from Germany and have a season Ticket for the "Südtribüne" in Dortmund for the last 15 years. So i am a really passionate sportsfan with experiences in the Ultra-subculture. I like to sing, jump an waive the flags for the majority of gametime, often not really watching the game :D So going into the stadium is more than just watching the sport! Since Borussia Dortmunds colors are black and yellow, i needed a team with these colors and a good fanbase aswell. I decided to watch some games of the Boston Bruins in the near future on NHLtv. Its a longtime dream for me to revisit the US and watch one or more NHL games live. Cheers!
Danke, Marc! The life of an Ultra is something that not too many people in the States know about - except for our soccer leagues. I wish we had something like that in the NHL. You are probably extra-excited for the playoffs this year!
@@TwistedWristerHockey @Twisted Wrister Hockey I am just getting used to the standings. Boston seems to be crisp this season. I am not the usual winning team joiner, but ill take it :D In general, when it comes to us sport i was always more of a player fan, than a team fan, since as a german you rarely have any connection to a team. But Players are more relatable. in europe we maybe have the "better" fanculture in terms of active support by ultras. but the draft system in the us is WAY more fun to watch the league as a fan in general, since you got this circles where teams are good for a few years and the they rebuild in the most part. In Europe you have the team with the most money, buying every good player with almost no restirction. And those few restrictions in place are easily outplayed by the clubs investors. It can be very lame as a fan. for example in germany we have the same club winning the championsship for the last 10 years straight... its not very tense for the most part. Although we have high hopes for this season. Sorry for the long post ;)
As an Australian I adopted the Rangers as my team for two reasons: they where one of the best rated teans in NHL'95 and the Lady Liberty jersey is the best ever hockey jersey 😉
I loved this video! I'm not from North America, so I have no reasons to support a team based on its city. I just got into NHL and the teams that caught my attention were the Ducks, Blues, Devils and the Flyers. I'll be watching those four teams until I find out which one is my favorite. Thank you for the tips!
The Oilers to me (maybe a little bias since I am an oilers fan) are probsbly one of the most fun teams to watch if you want offensive action in your games. They're in an exciting spot being poised to go to the finals and challenge for the cup potentially next season if they can pull off this off-season going into the 2022/2023 nhl season. They're a few pieces away from being one of the top 5 teams in the league. If they can strengthen their defense and find a good stating goalie they will be a terrifying team to play against. Here's to the oilers pushing for the cup next season!
Thank you for your kind words about the Nashville Predators (and our amazing city)! Nashville is extremely proud of our hockey team.... Our other team is the Titans so.... Yeah... Easy to be a Preds fan, lol. We are very welcoming to tourists as well, if you have a rival team's jersey on we'll still drink with you after the game. I may be a bit bias but for visitors it's good to know that by large city standards downtown Nashville is a very clean and relatively safe city (stay the F*** out of Antioch though!!!).
My favourite teams are Edmonton Oilers (Western Conference) and NY Rangers (Eastern Conference), hence we had the "wrong" Stanley Cup Final, at least for my taste. 😉 I hope for the next cuuple of seasons. 🤞 At least the Oilers have the best arena and a great branding. Congratulations to all Colorado Avalanche fans anyway - the title was well deserved. 🏆💪
You didn’t have to wait long for Seattle ! Year 2 was so magical and special while beating the reigning champs and having the greatest “FAMILY Like” fan base I have ever seen was amazing
Support the Coyotes because we have a history of the best captain in the leagues history. Clayton Keller and Jakob Chychrun are rising stars. Lawson Crouse is a leader with grit. The new owner is building an arena with no taxpayer money and has shown a commitment to the desert that previous ones haven't. Every team goes through rebuilds but we still have a good playoff history, young stars and 12 picks in the first 2 rounds this season to get even more. And Loui Erickson is the king
German here! Grew up on soccer and hockey and have been a fan of my local 3rd tier hockey team but never rlly got into the nhl. This year ive made the effort to stay up late and watch all games of the rangers. My uncle brought me a rangers hat from his new york trip when i was 10 years old so i thought why not just go with them 😅

NY Rangers bcs of cool jersey and vibe, Capitals bcs of jerseys and Ovechkin, Canucks bcs they had one of the best OVR i n NHL 11😅

I’m no Seattle native, but I’m sure they understand the game way more than Vegas
The Kraken has failed to unleash, but then again most expansion teams do unless you are funded by the Vegas Mafia Knights.
Another reason is if you go to one of the games you’ll get your car broken into as well

Then they brought in Teemu Selänne which was even better :)
But in the last decade I've noticed myself paying less and less attention to the Ducks, because the roster seems so boring, and I have to admit that the lack of Finnish players has an impact as well.
Cheers!
Cheers James! I notice a lot of UK viewers getting into the NHL with the help of this video. I'm happy to help grow the love of the game 😃
Couldn’t have said it better!

@@monkeygamenow3731 Ah ok. My grandad was born in montreal so there's a bit of history there. Thanks for the recommendation!!!
I’m a pens fan from California for the simple reason that when I was a kid, I liked the mascot
Coyotes: you just start off disappointed. Hard to go down hill from there.

Leaves room for tonnes of gloating, violence and possible heartbreak,
Maybe not Chicago, though...
Hard to be a homer when I'm brazilian lol

Back in '11 as I was first becoming an NHL fan, I set myself the "task" of finding a team to follow that A) wasn't already one of the established "powerhouse" teams but B) looked like they might be on their way up. I settled on the Wild. While they still haven't figured out how to get past the "out in the first round of the playoffs" level, I'm keeping the faith. :)

Dude with all due respect the coyotes arent gonna be good till they move since theyre consistently losing money
New Ducks fan here! Thanks for posting this video
I usually just recommend new comers to the capitals. It’s not my team but Ovechkin is so fun too watch.
If I like the newcomer, I would show them to teams with lots of success recently, like Lightning, Avs, etc.
If I didn’t, then I would introduce them to the Leafs.
@@pianosbloxworld4460 I wouldn't say Tampa cause they're very hateable. Great team but they did go 18mil over the cap.
I am not the usual winning team joiner, but ill take it :D
In general, when it comes to us sport i was always more of a player fan, than a team fan, since as a german you rarely have any connection to a team.
Can’t decide between the golden knights and the panthers, I love the logos
I think it's perfectly fine to choose both teams, so you have one in the West and one in the East.
I loved this video! I'm not from North America, so I have no reasons to support a team based on its city. I just got into NHL and the teams that caught my attention were the Ducks, Blues, Devils and the Flyers. I'll be watching those four teams until I find out which one is my favorite. Thank you for the tips!
Why you should cheer for the sharks, sharks are cool animals. Teal black and orange kinda looks cool. Last cool uniforms.
I might just give it a shot next season! Either them or the ducks those teams got my eye for some reason
What’s wrong with the titans?
My favourite teams are Edmonton Oilers (Western Conference) and NY Rangers (Eastern Conference), hence we had the "wrong" Stanley Cup Final, at least for my taste. 😉
I hope for the next cuuple of seasons. 🤞
At least the Oilers have the best arena and a great branding.
And next year's already going to be an exciting one with the Winter Classic coming up!
Loui Erickson > Gretzky
But honestly kinda hard to justify being a totes fan atm
Well I chose the Oilers because I live in Edmonton and McDavid and my family are Oilers fans so I was destined to be one too
German here!
