to be fair, that resident evil 7 healing is because Ethan Winters isn't human anymore, he's basically the same thing he's been killing throughout the game and the Baker family. He honestly doesn't even need the liquid he pours on his wounds, he just thinks he does because he doesn't know he's already technically dead. Hence why he can lose an arm and just stick it right back on and have it connect on it's own. That game and resident evil 8 fascinated me with Ethan, because you could physically watch his visible wounds heal up on their own. it's slow though.

Also because the RE Universe have the Green Herb (the healing chem is made from it) that isnt just a game mechanic, but also a very important world building element (this is also why it is so wide spread thru the entire world, because people plant it everywhere because of how useful it is)

      Correction
The herb is NATIVE to ARKLAY MOUNTAIN, so its not spread all over the world. Why they can go spreaded and end up in isolated place like in Europe is still a question. However, 1 theory suggest it was Umbrella work, since they have a base in Rusia before it also completely fail.

    • @necrochemical5572
      @necrochemical5572 Місяць тому +7

@@MA_690 that's an easy one, it's a different herb, leaves and stem structure are way different from Arklay herbs. In 7 at least, which is in Louisiana. resident evil 8 doesn't have any herbs and the liquid he douses on his wounds is only a disinfectant and not actually a healing agent. What its wiki says it does is just Ethan's body doing it on its own. Even the bottle just says Disinfectant lol

Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7 and 8 too. He technically doesn't need the health bottle either, just thinks he does. I'd always wondered how he could reattach limbs and then use them like nothing happened. and then 8 came along. and not only did he get his arm severed, when he reattached it his coat sleeve connected again as well. There's a part where he's hung by hooks through his hands and he has to rip one through his hand from the center of his palm to between his middle and ring fingers and over the course of 10 or 20 minutes, you can watch it slowly close up and heal until it's gone. wild shit

The adamantium in Wolverine's body isn't what lets him heal....he was born with his healing ability and had bone claws originally. The adamantium was added later and made him basically invulnerable.

After around 600-700 hours in the first game and 200 in the second, I can comfortably say there is no animation for a pill bottle in either game. In fact, there isn't any healing animation in Dying Light 1 or 2 that isn't a bandage or auto-injector. You either wrap your arm with a medical kit in both, or in 2 there's an auto-injector syringe for the military medical kit animation. No pill bottles.

When you commented on the prostetics and how closer we are getting + the connecting, i instantly though of the Automails from Fullmetal Alchemist , since the concept there is pretty much addressing it by creating a connection to the nerve. Albeit its quite something wherever you gotta get that part back on (or so it makes me feel wherever i saw the main character's reaction, Edward , getting the automail connected and the nerve reconnected to it).
Always wondered if we'll ever get to that level , maybe not metal limbs but the connecting part itself.

The bit with the shark just biting the guy and then leaving is actually very real. Sometimes when a shark encounters a large animal like a human they'll take a small nip at it to see how tough it is and to warn them to get out of its territory. They don't usually clamp down on people and actively try to kill them unless they're starving.

the liquid actually isn't doing anything, it's more like a placebo since his body is no longer human (and quite possibly not even the original body anymore, corpse could still be at the Baker's house) Ethan just thinks he needs it because he doesn't know he's not human. the liquid is nothing more than disinfectant anyway.

You got to love how the healing animations have the same crazy speed and snappiness to them like the reload animations. Got something stuck in your hand? Just rip it out as violently as humanly possible, what could possibly happen? Your bones are broken? Just yank the limb back into position, I'm sure the pieces will perfectly fit back into place and stay there. You got 5 seconds. You may grunt a little, but no screaming, and you better keep using those limbs as if nothing happened.

But again, Wolverine did say that everytime he let his claw out, he feels pain because the claw tear the skin, basically he have strong healing factor but he still feels the pain

4:01 small correction; we do have the technology to make a fully functional prosthetic limb to the general standard found in video games, it’s just not affordable for most hospitals or medical centers to provide. In reality, your best bet is if you know someone with a high degree of engineering, computing, and biomechanical knowledge, and all the equipment to make it. There was a man in I think it was Sweden who actually made his own prosthetic a few years ago, that was fully functional as a hand, and capable of using replaceable appendages.

2 I've thought of, one being monster hunter
yes, monster hunter is more of a high fantasy thing hunting humoungous creatures with special abilities, the player heals usually by drinking vails of green fluid. what happens to the empty vials? I can only imagine it brings a tear to the native wildlife's eyes
the other is a more unknown indie game soulstice. it's not a healing animation you'd usually see but the bridge the protagonist is standing on is sniped by one of the game's later bosses. she emerges from the ruble with bassically all of her limbs dislocated and they just snap back into normal place by themselves. I can see a doctor looking at the state of the protagonist in the rubble and saying "we tried everything"

I've practiced martial arts all my life and I've dislocated all my fingers except for my right pinky. After practicing for 3hrs straight, I thought I sprained my ankle so I stopped to inspect it. "Hey, that doesn't look like it goes there" so I start inspect it and, accidentally, slipped it back into place. I did have to go to the ER afterwards as a safety precaution to ensure there wasn't any lasting damage.
