Im currently hardstuck in Champion around 70%.I was already familiar with chain drifting but some of these new mechanics I did not know about. I find this guide super helpful, im going to take the time and practice so I can improve my drifting. hopefully I can hit Unreal before the season ends!
@@ShaneStanley109 Dude same I had 0 trouble until about 62% champion. Been stuck in about 67% to 62% for the past week and a half. Rocket Racing is sysiphys, you gain some points and instantly lose them.
Thanks for the tips. just last night I ranked up to Diamond 1. after practicing for a bit, I was able to get my Conduit lap to sub 60 seconds, and i would be consistently 1st on that track. but now, after Diamond 1, there was a massive shift in speed, on Conduit, a lot of them had about 2:45 races, even my new best of 2:55 came in 7th. imma definitely try to learn these tricks.
Last season i was stuck in elite when i finally decided to do the original RR tutorial once i new all the mechanics it gave me a shot of nos to fairly easily push me into the top 400 of UNREAL so don't knock the basics you'd be surprised how many casuals don't know all the buttons!
Same here. Stuck in Elite, last season, this season. This guide and "Key Mechanics They Aren't Telling You | Your Path To Unreal in Rocket Racing" are really helpful. Thx. And maybe I should take a look now into this RR tutorial ^^ lol. And as an other option, maybe I should play it on my Xbox and not on my old laptop ;)
Back in Season 0 I used to be struggling to do drifting especially air drifting with default settings. until I started to switch my controller binds R1 for drifting while L1 for boost while jump I kept it on X button and started to do practice on Day Drifting track. I made it to Unreal (around end of Feb) which I did in quickly due on the next day I had to go vacay with my parents
@@scratchx26 I was joking lol I'm actual top 100 unreal. I started day 1 and I think its easier now then it was but maybe like 6-9 games if you win them all?
You made me relize i was making a mistake too much and i been hard stuck on 60% to 70% champs in season 3 hopefully i can hit unreal mostly just want the gold drift smoke also would like more tips on how to take full advantage of the air roll i mostly get beaten by people who are better at it than me
i cant keep my car at a set angle while trying to drift, it always automatically leans towards forwards and ends the drift, how can i stop this from happening?
@@BlairZED Hey, i just tried drifting on RB, but since you just hold the gas button anyway, i liked following setup even more: Gas on LT, breaks on LB (we don`t need a finger on that, but if we need it it is reachable), drifting on RT and turbo, flight roll and jumping (flying) on the buttons on top like it is standard. The way you can hold the controller is more comfortable like this and RT works great for drifting. ;D
For new and experienced players alike I think everyone can take a little something from it. Drifting is probably the most important aspect of Rocket Racing.

You can do it!
Really me too I felt like the earlier percentage of champs was way easier till I hit 60 to 70 it got way harder
Yes same i can not get past 70% in Champion it's so annoying

Thank you! I had no idea about being able to hold your drifting and I’m in elite already lol
This should help my push to unreal!
Unreal yet?

Congrats on Top 400! That's awesome. This video is definitely for newer players but I'm hopeful that most people can take something from it.
I'm happy that my videos have been able to help you out. Keep grinding, you'll get out of there.

New yes. Just did my tutorial but also new to gaming since the 90s so usi g all these buttons is going to be a challenge.
You'll get there, just start slow and work your way though.
Maybe this will help me get out of silver 3
Maybe
New to this game how quickly did you get to silver 3 ?

@@scratchx26 if you ever need help learning game mechs and stuff lemee know. If your in Blairs discord you should be able to find me ez.
Thank you. This was exactly what I was looking for. There are a ton of mechanics that are not very well explained, and are not very intuitive.
im currently top 200, and i found this useful to watch, thanks man, i subbed
Thanks for the sub!

You bet!

Literally went 8th place 7 games. Watched half of this and took 3rd.
Insightful
Hey Blair, do you also tab the gas button to get your drifts exactly the way you want them to be? It sounds like that to me.
Nope, I'm full throttle all the time.

CODE MAP?
shhhhh dont give out the saucey sauce lol
Haha!
you really made a whole 12 min video to go over drifting?
I did a 20 min vid
@theYNG_D yup and that vid got me to champion one of the best tutorials I've seen and learnt Blair z and young d I thank you
