- “Why isn’t he attacking you?!” Is the number one question I get, I’ve answered it a bajillion times, but here’s another talk about it since it’s asked so often!! The gators I work with are NOT raised in captivity, I didn’t raise any from babies and they’re caught from the wild generally as big as you see them now, they’re not fed before interactions or kept “full”, they’re not sedated, it’s JUST TRAINING!
You can come swim with me and Casper! I have tour openings this Friday and Saturday! We keep everything in low numbers and Covid safe. The tours have always been very small private groups anyways so it fits into the current guidelines, and we will be following CDC guidelines.
.
The tour appeals to both adventurers and animal lovers, and I offer to shoot my own photo package for them as well. If you want to come join you can book online now, go to www.crocodilechris.com
Let me know if you want to go!! Share the water with alligators in a safe and controlled environment! This is done safely at the Everglades Outpost Wildlife Rescue in Homestead, Fl. It is for people of any skill level, you don’t have to be scuba certified, just have an interest in wildlife! This is a no contact experience! Observation and photos only at @evergladesoutpost

Kinda really interesting to see the guy say '' Casper, come here '' and the gator just casually stopped and slowly turned towards him. Pretty cool
Even the wildest and dumbest animal out there understands the concept of behavioral reinforcement. So, in the 6 years of training he has been doing with the gator, he has trained him to recognize the "Casper, come" command and the gator knows it means he'll get food if he moves to the source of the sound. It's a thing of repetition and conditioning the animal to do what you want them to do.

I'm glad u said trained not tamed. Always remember no matter how many years you have with an animal they can tear your flesh apart at any moment and you'll never know why.
I learned something watching this, thank you. I graduated from U.F. and my undergrad adviser was Kent Vliet, head of alligator research. He took me to the Alligator Farm as an assistant. I saw him get in the lake with the alligators with nothing but a camera and a big stick. I changed the film in the cameras from the safety of the board walkways.
I've wondered about the reptilian brain and the mammalian brains interacting. "He's trained not tame." Clears it up a lot. It's a relationship between you two.
Alligator mothers care for their joung for up to half a year after they hatch from their eggs. This is extremely uncommon for reptilians. This indicates at least rudimentary social instincts, witch explains to me why alligators can be trained in such a way.
Relationship is still too strong. Unlike mammals, reptiles do not release dopamine during social interactions, so they have no incentive to develop relationships. This is why large snakes are known to sometimes stop eating in preparation to eat their much larger owner, even if well fed.
I recall being told that the reptilian brain is incapable of forming a social bond the same way a cat or dog can. Making a "tame" reptile virtually impossible. They can however see you as a source of trust
@@dmwanderer9454 Yeah. But damn. It's still kinda sad. It's like trying to make friends with someone, but they literally can't think of the idea friend or that idea is just alien to them. Finally a guy who don´t insists he "bonds emotionally" with reptiles but actually keeps it real. Huge respect.
To me he doesn't need to say it.
reptiles doesn't bond tho , even if someone insists , that's scientifically impossible , you can bond with a lion or tiger but not with a gator or python .
What ?
Are you trying to say that no reptile can bond with a human? OR are you trying to say that no human can bond with a reptile emotionally? Cuz u said dude didn't claim an emotional bond.
ALSO r you including birds in that comment? - after all they also descend from Dino's.
I don't tend to agree with you. He may not be trying to bond but both reptile and human have a bond. Even a hungry dog or an extremely hungry human is possibly going to eat ANYthing they can get. Humans eat chickens they raise all the time regardless of feelings for the bird.
Reptiles CAN bond and definitely humans CAN bond with a reptile. Reptiles have a limited way of expressing a bond and with some individual reptiles you may not see the bond it may still exist. Some reptiles have certainly expressed bonding characteristics. SO you can have a turtle that shows he likes you, and you might have another turtle that does not express it the same way. Yes MANY pets esp if they r hungry & think u r you are dead or appearing to be food -- might eat you. Does not means there is no bond. Further, other 'pets' like a pit bull or a lion can bond with you but yet eat you (on an off day). When a dog is home alone w a human & human becomes incapacitated or dies after a few days the dog generally will eat just like the Donner Party. PERIOD.
Explaining this is great for people who understand logic and common sense. but overall is wasted breath for those who argue without thought. even when you give them a valid explanation, or even show them how. they still think the earth is flat. keep up the good work. this is really cool.

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time.
Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them).
Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy.
Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).
Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.
Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement.
It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them.
(19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad)..

People like to talk about poodles, Pomeranians, Shiba Inu, but only men of culture know this breed is where it's at. So calm, friendly, and loyal to the Florida Man way of life
Hi kim
Bobuck
is that kim kardashian?!?!
Sure, he's trained and comes across as nice and peaceful in this video, but don't forget that this is an apex predator responsible for killing more human beings than any other vertebrate on earth and can snap at any moment. You can never be too careful.
The alligator is pretty cool too.

Every person who works with wild animals knows this. They can become accustom to you. They can even like you. You can read their behavior, their body language.
But end of the day, they're still a wild animal. There's always a risk when working with them.

It was actually needed. Humans pet anything that moves 😂😂😂
This video is so amazingly informative
So glad you’re explaining it to everybody said that some people can understand and not become dumb about things
The fact he wasn't raised in captivity makes this all the more amazing ! must be a fascinating experience being used as a head rest by an alligator !

Long story short…it’s the closest thing to “friendship” that a human is capable of having with an alligator. I used to have an alligator buddy at my grandparents’ place in Florida back in the day…naturally, we called him Al Bundy (anyone born after 1995 has no idea who that is). He lived in their park’s pond year round…obviously knew that small humans were “interesting” and likely to give him food occasionally since they didn’t know any better…so he’d swim by and say what’s up sometimes. We just didn’t get close, watched him at all times, respected the limits and it was all good. This was almost 30 years ago and as far as I know, he spent decades in that pond. He just never bothered anyone and nobody bothered him. By the way, I’m *not* advocating friendship with any wild predator capable of eating you…don’t go near wild alligators. This is merely an anecdote from my weird ass life.
This is like the best comment
Reptiles are much more intelligent than people give them credit for. They don't really love their human companions in the same way mammals do, but they can learn that you mean good things and can over time override their instinctual reaction to humans and be content to just chill in your presence. Tbh in my opinion trust is a better indicator of the depth of a relationship than love because trust has to be earned
@@madeliner1682 they see it as a means to an end just like when a big fish lets little fish cleans its mouth. And wild boars let some apes eat their flees and ticks and other sh!t on their back. A symbiotic relationship is the words I'm looking for.
