    Stump Buckets are really only as good as the Hydraulics on your tractor. I have a Heavy Duty 36" SKID STEER Commercial Stump Bucket. My little TYM 2515 25 hp Tractor really struggles on anything except small sap[ings. Where digging out a medium size stump will take 45 minutes, my New Holland 110 HP Power Star Tractor will take it out in 5 Minutes. I love your Videos. Keep up the good work!!!!!!

    Stump bucket is most definitely another option as long as everyone's aware of the leverage it takes to use one... and doesn't try to overdo it

      Right. They are pretty handy, but the longer the bucket the more stress you can put on your loader

    I have a stump bucket for removing roots from the brush on my property. It is an economical way to clear small parts of land. If I had a lot of brush to clear I would either hire someone to do the job or rent larger equipment. But for a weekend warrior, this tool is great.

    I still stand by my opinion on having a legit backhoe. I see so many spots that it could've been used and less trips. yes I get the compact tractor idea but man having a fullsize backhoe is a must have. to start up a business,homesteading and farming.

      Completely agree

    I find it's much easier to dig down enough to expose the roots and then cut them with sawzall, I use a Milwaukee M18 battery powered saw with a Milwaukee 6",9" &12" pruning blades, it's carbide teeth don't seem to be effected much by the dirt. Once the roots are cut you can decide if you want to pull them out or not, but the stump is much easier to remove.

      @@RockhillfarmYT I have done some testing with it already and reported back to Artillian with my data. It’s a fantastic bucket. I thought it would take a lot of strength away from my BX being that it’s got less leverage being a longer bucket but I found the Bx handled it quite well even with its smaller size. I plan to Debut this bucket soon as the snow melts. Stay safe out there!

    Thanks for your video’s been watching you for about a year. I have a 1025r with a backhoe. Since it is less powerful and lighter than your tractor do you think a root ripper on the backhoe is a better choice for me??

    What do you think about this version vs the 16” version? Do you feel the 16” version gives better leverage for the tractor or was this one just as good? I have a 2025R so mine’s not quite as heavy or powerful as your tractor

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  2 роки тому +1

      Felt like I get just as much leverage. I think the 2025 would be fine with the longer one but can’t say for sure.
      With either bucket I would recommend the ripping teeth that I show in this video: Testing the Limits of this Stump bucket - HD Ripping Teeth Upgrade

      @@RockhillfarmYT I’m pretty sure it would handle it as well, especially since I’ve seen people use 40” long versions from other companies. 😳

    Between this bucket and your grinder which do you prefer?

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  2 роки тому +1

      The Grinder is definitely a more efficient way to remove stumps. These stumps would have been very quick to remove without rutting up the whole area. You can also remove huge stumps with a Grinder where as a stump bucket has a limit on size
      If we’re doing pros and cons though there are a few things that are better about a stump bucket.
      First is that the stump bucket is much cheaper.
      The stump bucket takes up less space and is easier to take in and off the tractor. My Grinder is a hassle to put on it
      A Grinder is perfect for stumps, but that is all it can do. This stump bucket is also good for digging out rocks or for digging shallow trenches.
      If you have a backhoe then the stump bucket is a little bit redundant, and I would go with the Grinder. If you don’t have a backhoe then the stump bucket is kind of a Jack of all trades
      So it all depends on what you want to do
      Thanks for watching

      @@RockhillfarmYT fair enough. I was watching this to help make my decision. But your video plus several others really just reinforce, for me at least, it's much faster and cleaner to just grind. I have 11 acres of solid forest, so I know I'll get a lot of good use out of it.
