TL;DR: As a Chinese Minecraft player I will say that the majority of Chinese Minecraft players (including me) just play the original Java/Bedrock Edition instead of Minecraft China, and IIRC most players of the China Edition right now are kids and some teenagers. I want to correct something first: These "most popular" servers shown in this video are actually not popular in Chinese player community (or, they are only popular in [Minecraft China] community which is not the majority); most of us play on various community servers (most are volunteered and accept donations as their only income, so they rise and fall frequently) and popular international servers like Hypixel and HiveMC. There are also some famous Chinese community (not Minecraft China of course) like Cthuwork (you can find some of their fantastic Minecraft building and animation on youtube I think). Actually, the server "花雨庭" in "Chinese Hypixel" part, is one of the most *infamous* PvP servers in China because of hacking and cheating. (And it has never been eradicated. guess they want to be *"famous"* for being *"infamous"* lol) Now let me explain why Minecraft China is not popular in China. (I will try my best not to use any f-word) The China Edition came out in 2016, which is a free-to-play version by NetEase and serves only to Mainland China players (you can check Minecraft Wiki for detail but I will be brief here.) -It is a heavily fusion of JE&BE- *edit:* they actually heavily modified and offer both Java & Bedrock Edition separately. So it has those fancy animations and decorates as shown in this video. Since its release, however, it quickly became awful because of: *- Nonsense monetization:* you can only get resources from its own "market", therefore you need to pay for some classic mods and resources that are normally free to download in normal Minecraft (and the ones on "market" are even reproductions published by some random guy other than the original authors) *- Lacking vanilla content and functionality:* at least one major version behind the normal Minecraft, like for now it's still Minecraft 1.20 (even not 1.20.6😅); also missing some commands and functions of Java Edition. *- Severe bugs and hacking:* as you can see in the first part of this video *- Censorship everywhere:* the system regards many words as sensitive and replace them as ***, such as "bottom" "grass" "hole". What's more, the censorship is applied globally in the game, so you may find yourself unable to execute some commands because parts of them are automatically censored (this also applies to command blocks😇) Therefore many Chinese Minecraft players nowadays play the original Java/Bedrock Edition instead. I mean, most Minecraft creators in China won't give the China Edition a glance. You might say "I heard that the normal Minecraft has been banned in China." Kinda, since minecraft.net gives you a popup and redirect you to China Edition website if you use Chinese IP address. I guess that's a reason why players of Minecraft China are mostly kids: they don't know how to bypass this and get normal Minecraft, and they don't want to pay that much for the game itself, so they just accept the most convenient way. But playing normal Minecraft in China is easier nowadays, comparing to 8 yrs ago when I bought myself a copy through the crappy network connection to Mojang servers. Anyone in China can purchase on Microsoft Store which supports Chinese payment method (Alipay and WeChat Pay). Most players are now able to use 3rd-party open-source launcher like HMCL -and PCL2- ( *edit:* PCL2 did publish its source code but under All Rights Reserved so its not open-source) instead of official launcher (official one is really difficult to use when it comes to modding). There are also "gaming network accelerators" that are special (and legal in China) VPNs that only maintain connections to specific game servers, so network problems are somewhat alleviated I think. (and I just found I spent 1hr on this beefy text lol)
in fact,as a chinese who once played minecraft china edition long time,i could tell you that there is nobody that is willing to play this edition unless he wanna mutilplay more convenience(most players don't have basic internet knowledge),because: 1.mystical censor: such normal word like 下面(downside),草(grass)ect, system regard them as sensitive word and then the whole sentence will be replaced by ***. 2.slow update: when mojang released 1.21,NetEase began to prepare to update 1.20 3.disgust market: unlike the market of microsoft's minecraft bedrock edition, many creators would recreate classic mod of java edition(like The Twilight Forest),which you need use diamond to buy it (there still are may reasons i don't mention) (and a obvious phenomenon is,most players like to call"网易" to"冈易" to express dissatisfaction)
For those wondering where they get those cool models/skins they use a mod called Armorer’s Workshop that we have on normal minecraft, also a lot of them use a similar mod to Custom NPC to make NPCs with quests. All the mods there are normal Minecraft mods with a bunch of different textures and mixed mods.

As a Chinese myself, the ones that play this version mainly due to a lack of information about real Minecraft which is the result of China's high censorship, and lack of IT knowledge(some of them don't even know how to unzip a file because they use all their time to get a higher grade in school as grades meant everything to a Chinese student), as well as poverty (some of them didn't even have a PC to play and some of my classmates can't even afford to buy when Minecraft was half price on the 15th anniversary), making the free-to-play with a few clicks of your mouse Minecraft China the only option for Chinese players. But that doesn't mean that the Chinese version of Minecraft will respect their player base. Players are often disregarded just because of the large player base and the incomplete laws that lack human rights(for instance, it's completely normal for companies to delete player accounts because the account is rented to you, not yours, and personal information can be sold to third-party companies). Most of the servers that are listed are pay-to-win or doing their best to trick players into paying money. Hackers are everywhere just because they have a rank or have a close relationship with the server moderators(and Chinese Minecraft accounts are free so you can always create more when banned), but the ones that play normally always get banned for nothing if they play long enough, and appealing rarely worked. Even the content creators are just stealing mods from the Minecraft community and making players pay for them, and some of the mods that cost money don't even work, which leads to great disappointment. Custom texture packs and mods are not allowed to make you pay for the packs in the marketplace. Apart from all that, the saves are encrypted to make sure you can only access it with the Chinese version, and servers you rent(yes you can rent a server using money) will get permanently deleted if you don't pay the rent, and server saves can't be exported or imported, meaning that you need to start from the beginning if you rent a server rather than importing existing saves, and no way of getting the saves out. Mods and plugins are also disabled in custom servers meaning that players need to use command blocks as a substitute. Even if they manage to find out about Minecraft, they need to use a VPN(which costs money and is prohibited in China) to purchase because Minecraft is unavailable in China. If you are a single-player lover, mods, plugins, texture packs, and shaderpacks, are nowhere to be found due to heavy censorship, and can't understand forums and tutorials because of the language barrier. If you are a multiplayer lover, you need to set up a server first which many people fail to do due to a lack of IT knowledge. Even if you did manage to set it up, nobody will be able to play with you as they are all stuck in Minecraft China. If you want to play Hypixel, then the ping will be unbearable and language barriers and cultural differences will force them to quit. In conclusion, Minecraft China(and other Chinese games and apps) is a place where players(and users) meant nothing and money meant everything, caused by the flaws in laws and lack of knowledge and information about Minecraft and IT(and the world wide web) due to high censorship, language barriers, and school-centered living mode.

I am Chinese, and it's not like people doesn't play Minecraft Chinese the way it's supposed to, there are many people playing in the “联机大厅” section, you only looked in the Server (网络游戏) section, and we usually don't play "花雨停 (the server with the cheaters)" we often like to play “布吉岛 (the one you said was more similar to Hypixel)” more, there's a term we use to call "花雨停“ : Server for cheaters, and so if you play “花雨停” your more likely just decided you want to play with cheaters. I know it's hard to make this video (well...super hard) so, Thank you! I've already subscribed and liked the video, Thank you very much
@@fearless4666 Not really possible since they use mods instead of plugins. The only server which comes close to it but still seem far is Wynncraft. If you use some external mods that they provide then you can create a true RPG experience
Actually, for a minor correction, most Chinese servers in Chinese Minecraft number in the tens of thousands. For one thousand players, it would add (number)千, which means the X,000. While for ten thousand players, it would add (number)万, which means X0,000. That means a lot of Chinese servers have more players than hypixel itself. The server you claimed that had more than 10 thousand players actually had more than 100,000 players online. After all, it wouldn't make sense for a player base of over 600 million players (less than half of China's population) to not play the different servers. Hope this helps!
as risky downloading random files like that, having the ability to play modded servers with it downloading the mods on it's own is cool. feel like modded servers like those would be more popular if that could be a thing
Very cool Video! I din‘t expected that some of the Chinese servers are just so weird and custom. This isn’t even Minecraft anymore that some servers are running, because the whole game some animations are going beyond the fact that Minecraft is a block based game, which makes it more difficult to realise that you actually play Minecraft (and not playing a different RPG such as anime). Example: Some of those GuI menus and even the maps there are containing curved edges and realistic looking trees, that seems completely illegal for Minecraft. Additionally, those charackters (which seem to be copied and pasted from a cartoon) in the GUI-Menu are also not fitting to a block based game. They didn’t event tried to change them to a blocky looking character. As I saw those non-blocky looking menus, I got completely lost sometimes, and I even doubt that you are currently playing on a Minecraft server. It rather seemed to be a video about an anime game or a different RPG. All in All some of those modifications on Chinese servers are going beyond the realm of Minecraft, breaking Minecraft’s Most important rule, by creating and/or pasting custom images and characters that are (definitely) not fitting anymore to the Minecraft grid. And also if you can't mine or craft anything, you shouldn't call it a anymore.
I think it's crazy that minecraft doesn't have a roblox-like game joiner normally. that seems something microsoft would've done years ago but it's only locked to the chinese MC. really strange.and like, having a thing that downloads mods for servers sounds like a pretty good idea
16:18 That slime behaved almost exactly like the big anemo slimes in Genshin Impact, they also fly up after a while and shoot wind projectiles at you from above.
honestly, that first MMO RPG looks super cool! reminds me of Wynncraft, but much more detailed. I wish there was an easier way to play this version of minecraft, id love to try some of these servers.
The two PVP servers used for playing videos are "挂雨庭" and "宝马岛". These two servers are only the most popular but not the most popular. The first server, "hvh Ting", is anti cheat using GrimAC, he gathers the most powerful detourers of China's new generation The second server, "BMW Island", has four anti cheat servers, The owner '妖猫' only has the idea of cheat money to buy a BMW We found a backdoor code in the running files of "BMW Island", which means he can steal your account at any time
Man. I do wish I could play that first Minecraft rpg server, it looks so awesome. There aren’t any mods like it. Maybe one day someone will port it to single player, but that’s very unlikely.
That first MMORPG seems so cool, it's a shame we can't play it on the global java version same with the last hypixel rip-off of the video The skins are fire
Is there any legitimate English or NA specific Minecraft MMO's like the Minecraft China one showcased first (6:16)? I'm super intrigued at the thought of having a new thing to grind in a game I already own, but I've not heard or seen of anything even close to that. Looks dope
As a Chinese player who has used the Chinese version of Minecraft for 2 years, I said that the Chinese version of Minecraft is not good. The modules of the Chinese version of Minecraft need to be purchased with RMB, which is not as good as the free modules of Java. Some modules are rough, and some are carried from the Java version. Most of the Chinese version of minecraft with PVP mode is full of plug-ins and cheating, etc. 布吉岛 server is a high version of 1.18.1, there is no low version of the anti-chop, and kb is very poor, and the bedrock version of interoperability, there is a probability to match the bedrock version of the players, unfair to Java players
Real good video I remember another Minecraft china video I watched 2-3 years ago which was really good you should try to look for a Minecraft china anarchy server that would be really cool

Even though there are A LOT of flaws, there are definitely some features i would love in vanilla minecraft. The incredible amount of modding capabilities in servers, detailed cosmetics and UI, an actual server list (you won't have to go to some sketchy website to find a server) and more interesting servers (instead of every server in vanilla minecraft having bedwars).
that mmorpg looked awesome (the first one that had souls-like stuff in it), sad we don't really have that sort of thing outside of china aside from just using similar mods or something of which usually aren't compatible with eachother lol
You'd be pretty hardpressed to find servers like 6:50 in regular Minecraft. I suppose this is what happens when every server has easy access to Forge mods, and the mechanisms to preload custom server assets/mods are built into the launcher so the frontend user doesn't have to do anything except click a button...
14:13 there is the plugin similar to this in Java but in Vietnamese language but since the command are still english, I guess they translated the plugin file
One thing I wish they'd give international players more is the bountiful modding support for UI. I don't think even datapacks are given enough freedom over here in Java.
wish we had that amount of custom cool stuff like they got ngl but it's pretty weird to me how they have like aa completely seperate version of minecraft
7:55 wait a minute. I’ve had dreams about this stone arena and the boss (although the boss was more of a large shadow than a defined entity. Also the arena had a bit more cobblestone). I’ve never seen it irl before now. Wtfffff Edit to add: also in the dream, it was a collaborative boss fight. There were other players and we all had red health bars above our characters’ heads, along with the player name. Maybe it’s an old let’s play I saw back in the day 🤷 if anyone recognizes this stuff, lemme know.
6:19 if there is some way to port this servers content over to "somewhat" re-create it on more global software (along with a full-ish translation), I would probably get more addicted to it than most FFXIV players
As a Chinese Minecraft player, I feel really bad. The game launcher is full of advertisements that induce consumption. There are a lot of hackers in the many servers, such as the "Hua Yu Ting" mentioned in the video. In a game of Bed Wars, there may be a team full of hackers. There are also a lot of people who paid money to get ugly skins. In short, the gaming environment in China is really rotten. 果然是来自东方的神秘力量
Not gonna lie but minecraft servers wont be able to make crazy stuff like custom guis when you press keybind H or J or K cause its limited to minecraft vanilla thats prob why you download some files and i would say that it counts as "Mods" only modded mc servers could do these crazy things but im 99% sure that not many ppl would download mods just to play on one minecraft server But there are some cool servers that are close to this like originrealms, wynncraft and spellforged (not yet released server) Bonus: Pretty sure its blockman go on steroids Particles are also limited you can only edit the existing ones in texturepack, you cant create your own particles, you can do it using prob only mods
You need to try Wynncraft man. It’s also an MMO RPG, has a complete story line, huge map, custom bosses, dungeons, classes, abilities, clan territory wars and much more. All without any mods.
I was using an image translator, but the issue is the translations aren't always coherent. I did try to translate the quests I got stuck on, but it didn't help
@@adriano760 the issue with using deepL is how do u type a chinese character that u dont really know what means already. unless theres a way to do image with deepl which atleast i cant find
If anyone’s curious if you can get those very cool cosmetics in normal minecraft, you can Even the custom made weapons from the mmorpg I think were made with armourers workshop, a mod which allows you to customize the appearance of anything by building and coloring stuff inside a grid But I gotta give them props, they made the bosses, the hud, and the attacking animations themselves
10:19 The Hive and Cubecraft on Bedrock edition each consistently have around 20,000 players online during the daytime hours… 11:04 Bedwars on the Hive Bedrock Edition peaked at over 9,000 players the other day and is consistently at above 5,000 players online at most times
I am very serious when I say that Java is the only version of Minecraft we can discuss. I find the idea of comparing it to Bedrock to be an affront to the game and its fans. To be honest, I don't understand how anyone can possibly consider Bedrock to be the better version. It's not even the original version, and it's missing so many features, including some of the game's most important mechanics. I just don't get it. If you want to play Minecraft, play Minecraft Java Edition. Anything else is just a pale imitation.
@@BBGOnYT I never said bedrock was better than Java, I just thought that since he was comparing the very different Chinese version then it’d be good to also have bedrock.
I work in Shanghai, and my firend works in NetEase(West R&B Center).I have to say that althought most Chinese players hate "Chinese Minecraft",But it has become a profitable project in China. Many companies specialize in making Minecraft RPG servers to make money, and the R&D cost is often less than normal game development. By the way,Chinese children are generally willing to spend on it.Some kids even stole their parents' money and recharged thousands of dollars in Chinese Minecraft severs. I saw this video reprinted by someone else on the Bilibili(A popular website for video in China) and I glad to share you something of this special Minecraft.①the server(the Chinese Hypixel) you mentioned in this video called Hua Yu Ting,we call it hyt in short, but its another meaning is Hacker Yu Ting(Gua(hacker) Yu Ting) because of cheaters everywhere.②I saw the bad player killed you many times in your base,I want to tell you this behavior is very common in hyt.③Most of Chinese Minecraft players think this Special Minecraft launcher is bad ,I saw some reviews say that the launcher is a shit, the operator only think how to get more money and they sell many gaudy skin so that when we are PVPing we can't even hit the box.Generally speaking, the special Minecraft is hated by a lot of people, but it also became easier for young people to touch MInecraft .
I love your content and that you put so much effort in each one of your videos which I also always watch within like the first few hours upon upload, keep going!
The reason all these RPGs are built in Minecraft is because of how hard it is to get a game license in China its faster and cheaper to build it in an existing game

5:45 Average Roblox Bedwars spawn kill moment
I love how dramatic your commentary is when you’re just describing Minecraft gameplay
I think the reason so many of these servers an MMOs is because of how easy it is to make them P2W.
you need to upload the server mods even if they are encrypted, im sure someone could get them decrypted.
as risky downloading random files like that, having the ability to play modded servers with it downloading the mods on it's own is cool. feel like modded servers like those would be more popular if that could be a thing

Example:
Some of those GuI menus and even the maps there are containing curved edges and realistic looking trees, that seems completely illegal for Minecraft.
*you shouldn’t call it a “Minecraft server anymore”.

The animations are sick af. Wish we had an rpg mmo like that on Minecraft
wynncraft, i highly recommend
You'd be pretty hardpressed to find servers like 6:50 in regular Minecraft. I suppose this is what happens when every server has easy access to Forge mods, and the mechanisms to preload custom server assets/mods are built into the launcher so the frontend user doesn't have to do anything except click a button...
14:13 there is the plugin similar to this in Java but in Vietnamese language
but since the command are still english, I guess they translated the plugin file

Wtfffff
Edit to add: also in the dream, it was a collaborative boss fight.
From what I have seen all of these mods shown in the video have Java mods so it is possible
But on the other hand you don't possibly want obfuscated and hashed code if you would even manage to extract the code from it in the first place
Java would need to implement native mods, that can install automatically after joining a server
that second server is what minecraft dungeons should have looked like
3:24 the way the cosmetics appear and look IS identical to the armorers workshop mod, idk what that means but I doubt they have permission to use it.
The UI, the models, details, everything about that MMORPG was beautiful. I have never seen stuff like that in Minecraft
I remembered when a type of reinforced deepslate appeared in the Chinese version for a time
Proof?
that was chinese bedrock edition iirc
"mysterious frame"
Not gonna lie, that one server at 6:18 looks pretty rad. Would totally play something like it if someone managed to replicate it well enough.

Shoutout to the Chinese subscriber who gave MisterEpic their login.
I love how smooth it is to join a server with a mod pack.
Not gonna lie but minecraft servers wont be able to make crazy stuff like custom guis when you press keybind H or J or K cause its limited to minecraft vanilla thats prob why you download some files and i would say that it counts as "Mods" only modded mc servers could do these crazy things but im 99% sure that not many ppl would download mods just to play on one minecraft server
But there are some cool servers that are close to this like originrealms, wynncraft and spellforged (not yet released server)
Bonus: Pretty sure its blockman go on steroids
Particles are also limited you can only edit the existing ones in texturepack, you cant create your own particles, you can do it using prob only mods
That MMORPG looks insane, I am extremely impressed at how much it made it's own game from Minecraft

Java
I am very serious when I say that Java is the only version of Minecraft we can discuss. I find the idea of comparing it to Bedrock to be an affront to the game and its fans. To be honest, I don't understand how anyone can possibly consider Bedrock to be the better version. It's not even the original version, and it's missing so many features, including some of the game's most important mechanics. I just don't get it. If you want to play Minecraft, play Minecraft Java Edition. Anything else is just a pale imitation.
