It really was pretty. I wanted to stay longer and hike all the way around the lake but we had already did 11 miles and that would of added on another 5 miles. I don't want to push my luck this early in the season lol

That first stop where the rocks were jutting out from the side below those trees, reminded me of the movie Tremors. Like one the giant worms (grabboids) training the rocks and was knocked out. I digress. That dam thing looked really amazing. The teared drop-offs were really fascinating. I find it funny manmade or not, we love waterfalls. So glad you took the side trail to the flume. Yes we did, but the first part about 3.5/4 miles of it was pretty flat and a dirt fire road. I'm not sure I could do 11 miles yet on a mountain. Soon I hope!

The first part of the trail was covered with beautiful pines and the smell was nice. It is nice to know someone else wont do the flume back.
