NOT The 25th Anniversary Of Wrestlemania; this show was given a ton of hype heading into it. The 25th edition, a big stadium, a big fight feel, one of the biggest matches at a Wrestlemania in years; the results though...mixed. There were some good things, there were some not so good things, & overall it created a Wrestlemania that is really only remembered for 1 match; a match some say is the greatest match in Wrestlemania history. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, 3 championship matches, Money In The Bank, the infamous Miss Wrestlemania Battle Royal, Hardy vs. Hardy, & Jericho vs. The Legends; this is Wrestlemania 25. For the second time ever, a Triple H World Championship match at a WrestleMania is overshadowed by a match that is deemed an all-time classic by the fans and is supposed to be the real main event.

Main Event: Chris Jericho vs HHH
Match of the Night: Rock vs Hogan
WrestleMania 25
Main Event: Triple H vs Randy Orton
Match of the Night: Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels
The even crazier thing is the format was the same in both instances
All time classic, Triple Threat, Triple H Main Event
18: Hogan/Rock, Trish/Jazz/Lita, HHH/Jericho
25: Taker/Shawn, Cena/Edge/Show, HHH/Orton
@@WeAreProWrestling the matches that followed the all-time classics on those WrestleManias struggle to get the fans invested after they went all out cheering for the all-time classics and speaking of Rock and Triple H, since those two are heated rivals, Triple H may have the main event spot but Rock got the match of the night!
I watched this at a friend's house and we all fell asleep on the Trips-Orton match lol

This WrestleMania will always have a special place in my memories. I watched it with my brothers at my older brother house and we even brought our mom down for the trip. It was one of the last things I done with them before I left for Air Force basic training on April 13, 2009. It would also be the last few days I ever had with my mom because she died May 12, 2009.
Stone Cold’s HoF induction made the pre-teenage me so happy and being treated to the greatest WrestleMania match I’ve ever seen was the highlights of this show.
Now that Ms. WrestleMania was the drizzling shits because of the winner. I didn’t know Steamboat was 56 at the time, my mom and the Dragon was the same age. The main event was a let down because of being shackled by the match stipulation.

My thoughts:
Not an amazing show but not completely terrible show but saved by a 6 star classic. Taker. Michaels. Damn near perfect.
Steamboat (AT 56!) was stunning, I could not believe it. I've met him before (he's a year younger than my dad) and he's still in damn good shape, very humble.
Zero disrespect to Santino, funny as hell and can go in the ring......Ms. WrestleMania was a joke.
HHH vs Orton should have been complete insanity with one of the greatest builds ever and it got neutered in seconds.
Vince McMahon was an Idiot for that Kid Rock Concert and having Santina winning it.
He shudda Un-Alived himself for that 🥴🤷🏿♂

Wrestlemania 25 is the reason I started watching wrestling in 2009. I always had a deep love and respect for the show in the first few weeks and months of me watching wrestling. However, as I began to watch more and more wrestling, old and new, from different promotions, I started to realize that WM25 is not one of the worst Manias ever. Instead, similar to WM2000 and WMX8 it should have been a better show than it ended up being. Especially with it being the 25th edition of the show.
Undertaker vs shawn michaels at wrestlemania 25 was an awesome match the miss wrestlemania battle royal sucked for all the good things the divas era gave us this match was the low point in women's wrestling glad we have a wrestlemania battle royal for the women this year triple h vs randy orton sucked especially the rule that triple h would be disqualified if he used a weapon why not have the match a No DQ since the feud was personal that still boggles my mind 15-years later wow it's been that long glad You're talking about this PPV.

While Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels was the highlight of the event, I also enjoyed the Money In The Bank Ladder Match and seeing Ricky Steamboat face Chris Jericho in the Handicap Match.

Savage vs Steamboat and Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels are probably on the top spots for Greatest WrestleMania matches ever, it’s just a beautiful exchange of in-ring skills without unnecessary shenanigans.

Completely agree that the WrestleMania 26 Money in the Bank Ladder match is the weakest of the WrestleMania Money in the Bank ladder matches. Do you think having 10 wrestlers in the match really hurt it?

@@WeAreProWrestlingWhich participants do you think they should have taken out of the match? I know it might be an unpopular decision but I would have taken out Shelton Benjamin because he ended up getting released only a few days after WrestleMania 26 anyway.

The Hell In A Cell & Wrestlemania 25 are 1A & 1B; both amazing
Here's my thoughts on this particular WrestleMania: it was a great show but as far as the triple threat match for the world title, it was all about Edge, Big Show and Vickie, nothing else mattered. The Money in the Bank ladder match was alright for what it was worth, but if you listen closely, sure CM Punk was a Babyface heading into the match, he was booed near the end. CM Punk as a heel in 2009 was actually pretty good. The Ms WrestleMania was one of if not the worst match of this show. The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels was the best match of this show, but I figured Taker was gonna win. The Extreme Rules match with Jeff and Matt was good, but the story leading into it should have been just Matt being jealous of Jeff's success and that's it, but when they went the personal route, that's when I was thinking "really?" HHH vs Randy Orton was an ok match, but given the hype it had, it failed to deliver. Golden Ring Bell goes to Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels, brown ring bell goes to Ms WrestleMania battle royal.

There would not have been any uproars about the name of this WrestleMania had they branded it as the 25th Annual WrestleMania or even WrestleMania: 25 Years or WrestleMania: the 25 Year Celebration.
They should have just called it Wrestlemania 25

This is most definitely a one match show with HBK Vs Undertaker being fantastic. Everything else is just eh. 2009 WWE was pretty terrible overall. Side note, I have been following Luna Havoc for a few years now, and her content is great👍

I will always say that once Matt said he killed Jeff’s dog, that killed the feud for me.
You can tell parts of this story was last second & thrown together, because this wasn't the original plan
Rumor was it was suppose to be Jeff vs. Christian at Mania, with Christian being the one to cost Jeff the belt at the Rumble
But things changed because Christian returning there was "too predictable"; again, all rumored

Undertaker VS Michaels at Wrestlemania 25.
Looking back at the Jeff vs Matt feud was great and all but the matches was a letdown still good but I prefer them as a tag team mainly.
Crazy thing is they weren't even suppose to split up here; because rumored plans were Jeff vs. Christian
But they thought "too predictable" for Christian to help Edge, so they went the Hardy split up route

@@TheKDogBrand That's why they thought it was "too predictable"; word had gotten out that Christian was returning & it looked as if he was gonna be the one behind all of the things with Jeff(from Survivor Series, the pyro, & eventually costing Jeff the title)
This was literally a one match show but you can argue that the edge vs big show vs John Cena match was a fun entertaining match. But everything else looking back wasn't that good even the jeff hardy vs Matt hardy match which that and the Orton triple h and Shawn michaels vs undertaker match were the three matches I was looking forward to at this mania and boy the hardy Boyz exploding and the triple h Orton match were very disappointing
I always thought 25, 27, and 29 are among the worst modern wrestlemanias, the only saving grace from 25 was Taker and Shawn. To me the greatest match will always be Austin vs Bret at 13 ironically also one of the worst wrestlemanias in the new gen era.
Funny how the 2 best Mania matches ever(Bret/Austin & Taker/Shawn) came from 2 not so great Mania's

WrestleMania 25 is a disappointing and bad show. WrestleMania 25 is in the top 10 worst WrestleManias ever. The build to the show was shockingly solid, but the show failed. The Money In The Bank is a good match. The Divas Battle Royal is a bad match with a stupid finish. Ricky Steamboat's performance in the handicap match is awesome. Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy is a solid match. I have to agree, their matches with each other are hit or miss. Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels is a classic match. Next to Stone Cold vs Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13, it's the greatest match in WrestleMania history. It's a top 3 match of either man's career and it's arguably the greatest match of the PG Era. This match should of main evented WrestleMania. John Cena vs Edge vs Big Show is an ok match. Triple H vs Randy Orton is a bad match. It's one of the most disappointing and worst main events in WrestleMania's history. The build up to this match was very good, but the match failed miserably.
