It's funny how many people despise this dude for his honest assessment of humanity and nationalism. It's also funny seeing who walks out and how they fit in with exactly what he intends to point out. It's almost sad, though still funny.
That is such a brilliant closing bit. Stanhope is a gem.

It's funny how part 3 has shot up the You Tube charts. The last clip up, but with over 7,000 viewings, whereas the other two have only had fewer than 600. Has there been 'lively' chat about this particular part of the show on Polish forums?

@AirForceJuan3 Stanhope has had variations of that theme for years. It's not unlikely other underground comedians in this Lenny Bruce Tradition have run across it also. It's kind of the theme they all work around. People are self-important goofs, they point out how mediocre we are. Hicks was famous for that.

Don't feel bad, Scotland: Stanhope uses the same "comedy works best here because you're all miserable" bit about New York City in his most recent special. According to his Wikipedia page (for what it's worth), he apparently doesn't like big cities in general. To each his own, I suppose.
Nice to reason is back in town. A large proportion of people would probably find Stanhope's style too crude, or offensive, but over-reacting to the point of portraying allies as enemies is silly at best.

@Zootmaster I have seen 20 minutes of Dane Cook, and I smiled once. ONCE. And he is supposed to be a comedian. I dont even remember why I smiled. It might be because I realized the video was near its end, or because my demand for wit was so low at the end even a joke about ... uh... I dont even know what he jokes about. I dont remember and I am certainly not going to check.
There's a difference between a person who tells jokes for a living and the president of the united states. One of them is the joke.

@GnosticAtheist just because you didn't find his comedy funny doesn't mean he isn't doing for the most part original material and drawing stadium sized crowds. He is a solid comic just as larry the cable guy is a solid comic, while their subject matter may not interest me like stanhope/hicks, you can't deny the numbers.
also a 2.5 hour set with constantly changing material is pretty damn difficult to do if you know anything about the difficulties of standup.

Prettymuch every country has more physically atractive people than we do in Britain. It's a blessing in hiding though, as generally it free's us up to do other shit, good shit, like make the best music/films/art in the world (the last two are debatable, the first isn't)

All of the subtle cultural references in his speech are not completely understood. Especially considering his "pessimistic" viewpoint. Specific cultural complaints probably don't translate very well from country to country.
