@@carolyoung8945 No petrol - no tank assault. You cannot fill tanks, airplanes or ships with crude oil. Also Russia has awful logistics because of its size and poor road network in some areas, especially in Siberia. Stopping of refinery plants to work will make great impact on their army supply as well as for their economy. They already had shortage of fuel for agriculture last year. Loosing business of Russian folks doesn't disturb me at all. It also works for Russian defeat.

So Lavrov wants peace in space but not on our planet ? Jeez 🙄 what a total melt.
He is threatening in a veiled way that they will target western infrastructure in space and set off nukes in the atmosphere. He's first blaming the west for war in space, thereby claiming that russia has a pretext to go on the offensive in that arena and secondly threatening the world with something extreme (nukes in the atmosphere), which is a very very big deal if anyone does this. russia also does not like the fact that in 2025 the US will have almost completed it's spotter network of satellites which will give early warning for ICBMs (long range nukes) which puts them in a very weak spot because they like to threaten everyone in that fashion whenever they can't get their way. Once the spotter system is in place they will be in much weaker position because they won't have a trump card to play any more. The thing is if they didn't threaten the world constantly with nukes or invade other countries the west wouldn't consider deploying this gear in space to begin with.
Lavrov wants peace on our planet, too, but with all of Europe subjugated by Putin. Not acceptable.
I love how Russia is telling their people they are fighting the US and NATO. They can't stand the fact they are getting crushed by their Ukrainian neighbors. Look at what a country can do when all the men and women come together and fight for freedom.
This was hit by western weapons using western technology and satellites, directed by west. It is really not so difficult to hit a bridge or facility. It can hurt but will not change the course of the war. I feel sorry for Ukrainian people that will suffer because of this pointless attacks.

The main targets are the modern refinery equipment Russia installed in a limited amount of refineries after the fall of the Soviet Union to meet European fuel standards for today’s vehicle engines; including Russian military vehicle engines using Western made engine parts. Before the fall, cars were few and only for the elite driving non-Russian cars or poorly made Russian cars that smoked a lot using poorly refined Russian fuel. The Ukrainians don’t need to destroy all of Putin’s refineries, only the updated ones to affect the fuel distribution system and cause engines to start failing using poor quality fuel.

Territories matters more than cash because Eastern Ukraine is where Ukraine resources are located, and Russia can get their cash back in less than a year from eastern Ukraine, they've already captured.
