I look at prayer as a conversation with Hashem. What Rabbi Aaron says reinforces what I interpret. Since God is perfect, He has no needs. Whenever we read or hear of Him needing something, what it really means is that this something is what we need. Hashem did not need to rest on the seventh day, rather we need to. Likewise, Hashem does not need our prayers, rather we need them. Brilliant discourse, Rabbi! ✡
So much valuable information packed into such a short video & it was exactly what I needed to hear today. I hope you continue sharing these short but truly important gems of information that are the foundation of our faith. Thank you for sharing this!
The desire to want to please God! To be forgiven and blessed to worship, pray, fast, study truth in truth! While God loves Israel, and the Jewish nation, many of us outside of judiasm, desire to worship God and have a sincere deep relationship with God as those of judiasm!...
It could have been translated as meditate. Except that meditation is something you do by yourself and Jewish prayer is something you do to get closer to G-d.
I’m always praying for wisdom, obedience and the courage do do the right thing. I also pray for those who are going down terrible and addictive paths. Is this wrong? Am I a beggar?
I completely agree. This makes sense. I can hope and express it, but I have to follow it up with my actions. I can ask for help in desperate situations to get strength to overcome it and help others in need. I can meditate because I need it for my mental health. But God is not Santa Claus and can't be controlled or persuaded by prayers...!
I’m converting to Judaism, and videos like this are helpful. Prayer has been something I’ve been wondering about lately, and one of my partners has been making an effort to pray more often.
What is really interesting is that Orthodox Christianity has a very similar view of the same things, as I've been told, the Orthodox church has held tightly to her roots in the old testament and thought of first century Jews.
Thanks kindly Rabbi. May I suggest an interlinear translation so that we can better have a right intention of energy of what we are saying, as we are learning Hebrew. Interlinear that the meaning of the word is below the Hebrew word.
Thank you, I have to prepare a shiur for people who maybe want to convert to judaism. I didn't know how to explain judaism in one sitting. So I will work with the brachot of the amidah.
Our praises are an insult to God? That's condescending and discouraging for people to nurture their relationship and express their gratitude to God. Don't you know that He sees the intent of the heart?
Hello everyone .at minut 3.44 of this video rabbi states that jew does not belive in God but in whom they belive ?????It ìs the first time when I have heard this .But Torra ? Can anyone explain ?thancks
As a Christian I really and enjoy this awesome explanation of prayer.
Oh! The sweetness of Jewish wisdom. Unparalleled...

THANK YOU ,THAT IS FOR ALL HUMANS ON THIS PLANET, SPOT-ON RABBI.
So many times misunderstood is the concept of prayer and so beautifully explained
This is a fantastic teaching! I’m energized to pray with the correct mindset.
Glad it was helpful!
Interestingly, the Greek word for prayer coincides really well in that it means “exchange of wishes”. Other words are used for “ask”, “beg”, etc.
It is all about me until I understand it is all about Him.
Finally a rabbi who understands how to have a RELATIONSHIP with Lord God.
Yaupppiieee !!!!!
Much blessings rabbi David Aaron.
Thank you, Rabbi.
So beautifully explained. Thank you, Rabbi Aaron. And thank you, JLC, for making this wisdom available to the wider Jewish community.

Excellent! I would add that Catholics engage in both personal and collective "scripted" prayer. Great vid!
Good call!

Nishmat kol Khai ...

Prayer is like internal housecleaning.

Jewish morning prayer morning prayer
Is it ok for me to pray in English, yet refer to G-d as his Hebrew name in prayer?
🙏🙏🙏
Hebrew is the sacred tongue, all other languages are just mixed up Hebrew. So why go to Greek?

Is God a concept?? What do you think?????
Amida
😲
So why Jews pray?
Because we believe in God
Looking at some of these men… omg when I go to Israel I wonder if I’ll want to come back 😂
I need to share this I’m sorry. Be careful!
Why would one pray if God already knew you first and last word even before you ever existed? Isn’t it all just in vain?
