Lockett has been so amazing to watch. I just about had a heart attack during that gruesome leg injury afew years back and thought he wasn't going to be the same after, so happy to be wrong about that. Definition of a badass
I'd argue he still truly hasn't been at that level. He's definitely become a monster receiving threat but they stopped using him in the return game where he really shined early.
WOW! I still get chills watching these plays. Russell does well when everything is clicking. His Defensive lines needs to protect better. We're going to the superbowl this year! Yes Sir!
Here is a sad reality check for us Hawk fans. It has been 8 years since we won a Super Bowl and 7 since Pete and Russ threw one away effectively dismantling a potential dynasty as Pete Carroll hitched his cart to the wrong horse. We can only imagine what might have been if Lynch would have run the ball into the end zone and Wilson's ego was relegated to take a back seat to the legion of boom. This game was a microcosmic glance into the remaining years with Wilson and Carroll will look like. Our Hawks struggled to control and dominate a mediocre 49ers squad barely scratching out an underwhelming win in Carroll's much loved 4th quarter. No wonder, past Seahawks players had grown tired of Pete's mantra, philosophies and anecdotes. "Can we win the game in the 1st quarter? NO! Can we win the game in the 2nd or 3rd quarter? NO! Can we win the game in the 4th quarter? Not always and not against playoff teams. Nearly ten years into Carroll's Seahawks tenure and Carroll's offense still struggles to score early and/or often. Only now, the Legion of Boom is not there to mitigate Shotty's scoring deficient offensive scheme. Although it pains me deeply to admit, I am acutely aware that there is no way Seattle is good enough to win a Super Bowl this year and probably not again in the Carroll/Wilson era. One must ask, what will the Wilson/Carroll era legacy look like should my fear come to fruition and Carroll/Wilson fail to deliver Seattle at least the "break even" Super Bowl trophy that they owe the city. Our city will be forever grateful to the best coach and best quarterback the Northwest ever had. We will always relish in the memory of that one great year back in 2013 whilst we dream of an alternate reality where Pete stayed true to the game style that garnered success and valued the defense and hard nosed running back that got him there and Russ Wilson's ego allowed him to see that he was always only as good as the players around him and accept that he was blessed to be a good but not great quarterback on a rare great team.
How can you watch this video and say Russ is just a good qb? Whatever happened in the Super Bowl is done with. But to slander Wilson like that? This team would be hot garbage past few years without russ willing them each game.
Great work man, thanks for putting this together! Well this season, so far, I think there have been 3 game winning drives! GO HAWKS!
