Right off the bat, IMO probably not "worth" $40. But man it's good. You used the word harmonious and that's dead-on. Kind of reminds me of some of the really great Parabola vintages where everything is in perfect balance. Amazing blending work; every flavor is enough, but not too much.
I’m curious how reg stacks up to this. I’ll find out on Friday but I’m doubting this will be close to 4 times better than reg even though it’ll be close to 4 times the price. Planning on sampling it at Goose but not sure on buying a bottle at that price. Is it significantly better than regs you’ve had?
I would not say that it is significantly better. It is more barrel forward, whereas the regular this year is more bourbon forward. Let me know what you think when you try them, Josh.
I honestly feel like this was a bad year for BCS. The beers weren’t bad necessarily, but nothing was great in my opinion. The biggest disappointment to me was coffee. Thin, bitter, and nothing like the great coffee variants I remember from 2017 back. Had huge hopes for the barleywine but thought it was only good, not great. Adjunct variants were ok at best. Put it this way, I drove to Chicago from Indy and left with only a 4 pack of single barrel regs (Willett).
@@joshquattrocchi6378 I didn’t get too much bitterness from the coffee but as I finished it off camera I did think it was thin, compared to the base. I assume that is because of the cold brew coffee being added…? I haven’t tried any of the other adjunct ones yet. Good info and thoughts. Thanks for sharing!
I have to admit that pricing plays a role here. Not with what I think of the beers but my opinion of value overall. For example, there are WAY better BA coffee stouts out there at a far more reasonable price (i can send you one). Also, VSOJ is $45 a 4 pack and is far superior to this bw that is $40-$45 for a bottle. Brewery only, so I get that but still. The adjunct variants the last few years have been more miss than hit, particularly given the price tag.. KY Fog, Cola, Cherrywood, Caramella, Mon Cheri, Cafe de Olla, Northwoods. Still fun to go try everything on Black Friday at the brewery but nothing was good enough to pay exorbitant prices for bottles.
@@joshquattrocchi6378 oh, I totally understand. I am kind of trying to keep two lists going in my head as I try this year’s lineup. 1. How much I like the beer 2. Is it worth the price? Revolution is a great example of a brewery charging less and delivering. Good call!
Great review. Well crafted beer. Having my bottle along with your review now. This is my second favorite of this year’s offerings after Sir Issac.
Awesome! Man, that Sir Isaac was so good! I should have bought a second bottle. Cheers!

Right? Hard to justify the price as "worth it" for sure. And I agree about some of those Parabola vintages. So good!
Great review. Gonna try and grab some myself. Maybe Chad will like this one too ;)
Haha I wonder if he likes big stouts like this, I know he likes the haze!
@@NoHypeBeerReviews Yea. He might.
Yeah, you've definitely sold me on that one! 🍻
So good, Mike! Cheers!
The 30th sounds awesome. All the barrels are under the beam suntory brand, I have a few bookers bourbon and I just love the whiskey. Cheers 🍺 🍻
Oh rad! I have heard that bookers is great. Cheers, Billy!
I will be looking for this one. Great review.
You should! I am so jealous that you had the coffee already!
@@NoHypeBeerReviews I felt the same way when I saw your review of the thirty. I think tomorrow is going to be an expensive day of shopping. Good luck.
@@endofthedaybeerreview yes it is!
The hits keep coming!
Haha I am trying!
Glad you are enjoying it and I hope to try some myself. The BIG QUESTIONS IS......... Price and availability??? TG for good friends : )
I think it is going to be around $40. I don't know about availability though. Cheers!
@@NoHypeBeerReviews DING DING DING -- WINNER --- My sister scored a bottle for my Christmas present in Chicago. Will this age well?
@@StudioGREGORIO awesome! I think it would for sure.
Bookers bourbon is phenomenal!!! Very hard to find I was lucky to get a bottle 2 years ago a bit pricey but was well worth it
Glad you scored some! I don't think that I have ever had it. Cheers, Chris!
