Just bear in mind that if you take the total budget of this film and add Barbie's total budget on top of it, both films combined cost less money to make than the Flash.
What I love most about this movie is that I can literally ***see*** that the whole Nolan's team was working at some heavenly level. Now seeing how it was built is just so amazing.
Crazy that there was no Oval Office set available to use, it must be one of the most reproduced locations in TV appearing in almost every political thriller.
I'm surprised they didn't try to to contact Truman's Presidential Library to use their one, since you know the Oval Office there was part of the President they were filming of.
I am not sure. You've got Poor Things, Napoleon, Killers of the Flower Moon and Barbie which should be locked. Then, the remaining spot would be between Wonka, Maestro, Asteroid City, A Haunting in Venice and Oppenheimer for example. Anyways, it will for sure be nominated just for being called Oppenheimer.
Having worked as a draftsman and CAD technician for well over 25 years and worked in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architectural and land surveying, all of this was super interesting to me and I understood clearly everything she brought out in detail concerning the excellent drawings and lay out. Kudos to all those involved in this incredible project and bringing it to life. Can't wait to see the actual movie.
When the best of the best in their particular field collaborate, you get this masterpiece. Production designers, director, DP, art directors, composer, actors, editor. Awesome.
180+ page script shot (principal photography) in 57 days!!! mad genius of a crew!! there is a blockbuster story to be written about Nolan making a film about how he makes films !!
Y'all should respect the thousands of hours that was put into the CGI and VFX of Oppenheimer. It's already bad enough how many of the artists didn't get a credit at the end of the film
Interesting that it was called Trinity Avenue then. I lived there and it was Trinity Drive I lived on. But Central was the main road where example Fuller Lodge is.
I really don't understand why they have to rebuild the Oval Office and spend budget for every single movie? Why don't they create just one replica and then rent it out for every movie. There are so many movies shot with that scenery that it would make sence
Wow this was a great video!!! I had started watching this movie but then stopped because I lost interest because I'm boring..but this actually made me want to finish watching it.. getting the inside of it really made me want to watch it
Christopher Nolan isn't a Writer/Director. He has co-written most of his films with his brother Jonathan Nolan who is very largely the main writer up his last two films.
Respectfully@@barborab9343 it's not that you don't like CGI, it's that you don't like when you can tell that it is cgi. I promise there are hundreds of movies you enjoy, that you would never have guessed had hundreds or thousands of CGI shots
really nice documentary, but please stop editing between medium and close up shots of the speaker so quickly, or at all, very hard to concentrate on what she's saying, and doesn't add anything to the interview.
CGI means Computer-Generated Imagery, means a specific thing: entire images produced using computer. Gargantua in Interstellar is CGI, digitally remove the cables holding McConaughey in the tesseract isn't CGI. There's no CGI in Oppenheimer, not a single image was digitally produced. They used digital VFX to modify some details on shot, for example to remove cables or so. Anyway the VFX shot in Oppenheimer are around 200, a lot less than Parasite for example. You simply can't use CGI with IMAX without losing quality. Invisible CGI is an oxymoron.
Oh for sure, but first of all, those sets didn't have to hold up to scrutiny under the immense detail of IMAX cameras, but also, the industry has really changed. Studios don't like it, investors don't like it, it's much more expensive mainly because craft workers are generally unionized and receive fair wage while CGI artists are often pushed and exploited without repercussions. It's been done in the past, and on this scale, too, but to do it in the modern industry is a feat in itself
This comment made me cringe soooo hard... the 3D plan is for construction purposes, they LITERALLY talked about how they used the stoftware to help build the sets
@@JamesWestMusicMan Exactly they literally talk about it so why use that title. That title made me cringe, the undertone that it's somehow bad to use CGI or an accomplishment to not use it is childish. Not to mention that for the movie plenty of shots were worked on by CGI artists. Don't get my wrong I love practical effects and miniatures, but the CGI industry doesn't get the respect they deserve and this is another example.
The fact that they filmed the whole movie in 57 days makes this even more incredible

Since plans for using the Nixon Library (east of LA) fell through, I wonder if they contacted the Reagan Library (northwest of LA).
Honestly that's probably why it was hard to find; more than likely in use somewhere else
Note to self:
Build an oval office. Send note to Hollywood production designers, along with a ridiculous rental fee.
Doesn't Tyler Perry's have an entire white house replica on his lot in Atlanta
I'm surprised they didn't try to to contact Truman's Presidential Library to use their one, since you know the Oval Office there was part of the President they were filming of.

I was really impressed by the set designs, and it's wonderful to see how they were created.
