I just showed this to my mother how is 73 & with embarrassment she told me she was scammed $1000 they told her that her bank needed to refund her $3000 but she needed to pay $600 to them she did that then they told her they needed another $400 for some reason so she did that. She found out she got scammed but then some other scammer told her she needed to fly to Sydney to testify in court we live in Brisbane Australia they were very threatening towards her which upset her greatly so she went to the police THANK GOD !!!! These people literally make me sick 🤮 Thank you for showing awareness to this evil crime you are a hero 😘💕🇦🇺

The CEO of the company I work for sent my boss, a PhD scientist and director of research, an e-mail asking him to do him a favor for some clients by picking up some gift cards on the way to work. The email looked legit and the premise was plausible because our CEO is often out wooing clients. Shortly After my boss finished emailing “our CEO” the codes for $2000 in gift cards he spoke to our CEO on the phone and immediately realized he was scammed.
It goes to show that no one is immune from these scamming scumbags, not even PhD scientists. This particular scam is called “the executive impostor scam.” The scammers look at the company organization on LinkedIn and then pose as a boss sending an e-mail to a subordinate. Sometimes the e-mail address is spot on because the boss has been hacked but more often it is an e-mail address that is off by one letter so you don’t notice it.
You do a great service with these videos. It is so satisfying to watch you eat away the time that they would otherwise be scamming someone else
Finally, I must say, as James Murray from Impractical Jokers once said, “Gift cards are the Dry-hump of Christmas gifts.” Although I suppose even without them, scammers would scam by some other means.
I had to help someone when I worked in guest services who fell for that one, I was amazed because I never would have thought of that! That's part of why the company i work for (I generally don't like to say the name but let's just say it's one of the favorites of scammers) has a specific number you can call if you're legitimately a company wanting to buy gift cards for a giveaway or whatever, and we would give that information out if someone wanted to buy more than a few of our gift cards
Phishing email make it appear to be coming from a legit person but the actual address is wrong. Same happened to a colleague got an email from the CEO to get gift cards for co workers he was stuck in a meeting. When they asked to email the numbers is when he should’ve realized it wasn’t legit but they got him.

I am Indian, I feel so bad about my country, How some shitty people scamming other innocent people.
India just has a huge population and good English skills so that's why most scammers are there. And they have established tech scammers there so it's easier for people to get into it. Same reason why Nigeria does love scams and Australia does investment scams. It's no reason to be ashamed of your country, most people everywhere would never do these things
@@johnsMITHhhhhh88 Australians doing investment scams in Australia? I thought they were just ex-pats (Poms, Sth Africans, Aussies, US etc) in Phillipines, Malaysia etc? Theres no where near as many as the Indians.
@@skullsaintdead Yeah it's not Australians doing it mostly, but it is specifically targeted by them.The point was that different places have different kinds of scams, whether it's the people doing it or the people scamming, it has nothing to do with the people but culturally some places work better then others for different things

We both know these scammers are in abject poverty and thrown into slavery by higher ups with organized crime. If they don't earn then they go hungry back to the slums. And that happens everywhere.
