Thank you for such an informative tutorial. You answered all my questions and some I had not thought of yet. I am about to tackle some jeans. This will be my first ever attempt. I’ll be using a Singer 201-2 which I am refurbishing. Straight stitch only. Thanks again. Your video is well thought out and very helpful!
this is awesome tutorial -thank you - i don't have a bidirectional pedal - so this will take me longe - what machine are you using - we are in the market - thanks in advance
I have a Babylock Crescendo, but pretty much any machine you buy now should have the reverse feature for backstitching, and most let you easily lower the feed dogs. Thank you for watching! 😀
Thanks for the tutorial! I have about six pairs of jeans and they're all wearing thin/have ripped I'm the same area. Just general wear, y'know the deal. I'll have to rent a machine and test this method out :D I don't think it was mentioned in the video, but what material did you use for the actual patches? Just some cotton scraps?
This video has probably saved me $50 by encouraging me to mend my own jeans!
Thank you for your quick response to my earlier comment.
I am glad I could help!

Yes, just cotton scraps they work great.
What material do you use for the patch?
I used cotton, but you could use a number of different fabrics.
What machine are you using pls ?
Babylock Crescendo🙂
I have a pile of my husband's paints that look just like that. I am hoping if I take long enough he will forget he has them lol lol.
I tried that, he bugs me like a kid until I give in, lol
Stitch Witchery.
I can never remember the name of things when it matters, LOL
Levis denim is awful lately...
I totally agree, they have gone to a much thinner denim fabric.
