Hellloooo! My name is Clancy and I'm originally from Long Island, NY, whch is about 40 minutes from NYC. In 2017, I moved to Ohio to become a TV news reporter, but after waking up at 2 a.m. for 5 years, I decided to leave that job and pursue UA-cam full-time.
I recently bought a house in Cincinnati and love making all kinds of videos, focusing on everything from money and finances (saving, budgeting, and being financally independent in your 20's) to health, fitness, and nutrition, to beauty and fashion. I'm getting married next summer so I also love providing wedding updates and showing you exactly how I'm planning my own wedding.
I LOVE making "what I spend in a week" videos in the cities I travel to and love week in my life-style videos the most! Let me know if there's anything specifically you want to see!

I still think your dad should build a custom window bench with storage for a reading nook in your bedroom. It would be so cozy in the winter when you can’t use your egg chair outdoors.

Great idea but maybe make it removable because it’ll be the perfect place for a nursery until the baby is ready for its own room.

Ok, I’ve been married for 14 years but when Zac called the store and said “my wife was there yesterday” it hit me right in the feels. ❤
And also I make my husband make those phone calls for me too. 😂
I have to do all those calls. 😅
For the nook in the bedroom, first I would get curtains that touch the floor. Believe me it will look so much better. I like the idea of a custom bench or two chairs in each corner with a small table in the middle.

I think it’s great you’re taking your time to fill your home! Showing thoughtfulness. The more you have, the more there is to clean and potentially feel cluttered by.
looks great! maybe switch your summer color books out for fall colors to match your mantle decor. Pottery, ceramic, and wood decor would be beautiful on those shelves!
If you wanna fill the reading nook in the room, I’d suggest two caddy cornered chairs, an end table with a lamp or plant in between them, and a coffee table or ottoman in front of them with a rug underneath! Bonus points for getting a larger, matching rug for the end of the bed! :)
Those chairs you found at Home Goods would look so good in your living room!
Or even in the reading book in her bedroom!!
The decorations are very cute! Some fall pillows on the couch would really complete the look.
I like the greens. Sleeping next to real plants are great because they clean the air!
1 oversized chair with an ottoman in the reading nook in the bedroom. Love the fall decor. Makes it look so homey!
I hope those green chairs were still available. I think they would look perfect in your living room with the green throw and that it’s a great use of that space with the short wall at the stairs to add additional seating. You can always ask the store to hold the items until you get there. Hope you have them on the next vlog. You’re doing a great job with your home decor.

I love the lamps that you picked for the bedroom. Live with the neutral lampshades for a while until you find just the ones you want. You could also buy some fabric and cover the lampshades yourself - it's not too difficult. The corner of the bedroom would look great with a big comfy chair, a smallish round table and a floor lamp. The perfect reading nook.
I love the new decor! I feel as though the colorful bookshelves are taking away and super distracting. Color is awesome but maybe keep playing around and making it less symmetrical? You’re doing great!
I think you should switch out your pink flowers on the bookshelves. Something fallish would be great. Everything else looks great!
Have you ever tried other colors of carrots? They should have them at Trader Joe’s! 🩷🩷
I bought my first home (alone) last Sept in SW Florida literally closed on it the day before hurricane Ian. I'm only starting to decorate it now a year later because I was so overwhelmed with everything, the hurricane, first time homeowner, and my sweet little 17 year old dog passed away only 6 weeks after she finally got her own yard. So yeah, I'm behind. It's ok, I forgive myself.
I'm also renting until I can buy a long term home! My parents bought what they thought was their small starter home....they're still in it. You made a great choice!
I prefer to watch your daily vlogs. Those are my favorite videos, but the what I spend in a month sounds soo fun!!
Suggestion when you decorate for a season take down some of your other decor because otherwise the colors do clash and it done look good. The autumn colors don’t look good with your bright color like books or flowers.
Fall flowers are cute on the dining table😊...Also, I suggest full size pillows for your master bed...I typically like two pillows each😁...big mirrors in a bedroom are cute...a long bench seat with storage space would go nice in bedroom window space, just as long as it is the right length👍
I have to say you are really turning your house into a Home, I like the choices so far.

One bigger oversize chair with an ottoman and stand up.lamp in your nook in the bedroom! The wall across from the chair a light wood bookshelf. Small round wood table next to chair! Sorry I got carried away! Hope this helps😊

That decor made a difference for sure, very cute. Clancy, I did notice the "getting orange" but thought is was tanning. Also I always get anxious every time you eat out because of your allergies.
What about putting a chaise lounge in the little bedroom nook? Or maybe just one chair by the window and a bench along the wall.
Reading nook: I would get one of the oversized circle chairs, side table for your tea on one side. Then a wood/brown bookshelf on the otherside of the wall to bring some warmth and a standing lamp

the bedroom nook should have a comfy couch, and a fireplace or floor to ceiling books. also a window treatment that goes for to ceiling for a finished look. your wedding photos could hang in this space too.
It took me 2 years to decorate my 1 bedroom apartment. Go easy on yourself. You'll be there for many years, no rush :)
Clancy, I would suggest to switch the three seater and the love seat if you do get the 2 chairs. I do think the chairs would work because in interior design you want to create conversational seating! Also, maybe you can find a green lamp where the base is green instead of the shade! I am someone who loves to decorate and loves interior design so I add to my collections every year. (yes I decorated in an apartment to because it just made me so happy). I also would try out the chairs for several days or a week or two before making your final decision! Right away everything will seem weird because your eyes aren't used to it.

you definitely need those green chairs. also I would switch the couch and the loveseat😅 the bigger couch facing a blank wall throws off the focal point of your gorgeous fireplace (in my opinion) then the two chairs would balance out across from the loveseat

Girl you need a mood board for your house a organized Pinterest board per room with a layout sketch it helped me narrow down instead of just buying stuff and regretting it
Clancy, we did the same thing! We bought a house we could grow into and skipped the starter home! I am so glad we did bc of the unknowns of the house market/ economy. We have all the space we need to stay for 10+ years!

For the nook in your bedroom, I’d do 2 chairs and a small side table with a lamp between the 2 chairs or a chaise chair with a small side table with a lamp! Or even installing a window seat with skinny bookcases in front of the window. I’ve seen a lot of those on tik Tok and they turn out pretty cool!

Less is more. 2 chairs in your bedroom will be too crowded. Do 1 chair & a small side table. Also, don’t rush with decorating. The fun part of owning is going to home goods regularly & adding to your home.

Also, have you considered a layered rug look for the living room? It would add an extra layer of texture and dimension which could help tie the arm chairs into the space

What if your dad does some built in benches in the extra space in your room? Then you can add comfy pillows and maybe even do custom upholstery to make it a true reading nook?

Clancy I think you should get a house cleaner every 2 weeks, or at least once a month. I think you’d be surprised at how much easier it will be to upkeep. They will take care of the deep cleaning tasks while you do your normal every day type chores. All sorts of people hire house cleaners!

Clancy, you may even be able to DIY hanging hooks on the jewelry box you got for your necklaces. So on the lid of the jewelry box you can add mini command hooks. I don tknow if it will stick well, but maybe worth trying if you already have command hooks at home?

For the little nook in your bedroom maybe two chairs on one side of it placed slightly inwards towards each other? Then a lamp, and book shelf, or some sort of storage you could put a plant faux or real on top of? Then perhaps a cute rug? Also maybe some longer curtains that touch the floor almost.

All the fall touches made everything feel so cozy. You guys are so cute. Zac, calling HomeGoods made me laugh so hard. My vote for the nook in your bedroom is a big cozy chair with matching ottoman and maybe a fun arching floor lamp so you can curl up and read a book.
The green chairs ontop of the rug so close to the couches and so people can use the coffee table when sitting there and then a narrow, long table against the back wall with pictures and knick knacks on it!
I really like my wicker chair. I've had it a really long time, since high school. It survived all those moves.
Clancy all your décor you got looked so good for fall, you got me wanting to decorate now lol. I think a reading nook built by your dad is a great idea as I have seen in others comments. I also like the idea of two cozy chairs with a small table in between with a candle perhaps? Either way your house looks so good and the trees in your back yard at the end of the vlog looked so nice.
