I dunno - that much thinning of foliage (forcing it to climb up) ... wouldnt that encourage sun scald in the fruit its already set ? Oh wait ... that's UK. 🙄😉 Ah, who am i kidding ? I'm USA zone 7. Very cool, and instructive, on the pruning ... I learned a lot.
@@homegardening98 I've been doing cherry tomatoes in 5 gal pails for 10 yrs , but this will be the first year ive started my own from seed (2 months early too), indoors. Thus is also the first time i'll be trying this highly groomed vertical vine/stake method. Before this year, ive always just let em go bushy, and never removed any suckers, so this is a radical change for me. Thanks again for a very instructive vid. 😃

@@mzundastud07 There are old pallets dumped in many places. Look near the bins behind just about any industrial unit, etc - and a bag of nails is a couple quid. If someones willing to spend a few quid on compost what's wrong with a few more quid on nails? You're seriously classing a bit of wood as a permanent structure? When the compost in contact with the soil it will tolerate drought better and contain way more biological activity. Not to mention, a temporary raised bed is a damn sight less ugly than a plastic bag.
Save the seeds from the aldi store tomatoes To know how to save tomato seeds, watch my video. I have made some videos on how to save or collect seeds from store bought tomatoes 🍅
If the tomato is a hybrid it will not breed true. Since the tomato came from a supermarket, it's probably a hybrid. That means, the plants you grow from the seeds wont produce the same type of tomato you bought from the supermarket. You could check the packet to see if the variety is listed. Don't cut the suckers off 'determinate' tomatoes.

would this work in a greenhouse in very warm climate?
Not indoor, keep it outdoors during warm weather
HAVE YOU PUT HOLES IN THE BOTTOM OF SACKS TO REMOVE EXCESS WATER
Yes, the hole is very important at the bottom of containers/pot to remove excess water, but I forgot to record this. Thank you

How do you keep animals from eating the tomatoes?
It's in home garden UK 🇬🇧, build high and close fence so no animal can come in to your garden
I'm in the UK, we found squirrels and even the fox family in the garden, unfortunately! 😢
@@eitherphone yeah, squirrels keep digging on my plants

You showed dozens of ripe tomatoes but on your plants show just fewer tomatoes

Might as well forget the bags and make a raised bed.
OKAY 👍 but this video is for someone who doesn't have a space for garden
@@homegardening98
If someone has space for those bags, then they have space for a raised bed of the same size.
