If Angkor did not build by Khmer, it must have been built by your grandma! I know Thai historians teach you the backward history. Cambodians does not have to claim anything, its the fact. You just can't take it with the most exploded recent Cambodia economy and tourists at Angkor park. cambodia is not done correctly. As someone who has worked in ancient cities, UNESCO historical parks, people in the area can live with Boran city. There was no eviction. I did not renew my contract and came to work again several months ago. Lucky to have a job and have family benefits available. But I always miss UNESCO and love it.

Let me explain more about the situation. Situation in Angkor Wat is quite bad. It used to be in the USL list from UNESCO before since Cambodian people didn't know how to maintain and repair it, so they ask other countries to did it for them. However, after it is marked as safe and Cambodian government need to maintain for their own, but for the Stone temple like this, Cambodian government use pure cement to crave directly to it, no block to replace or globally accepted method. Furthermore, they add new things into the Angkor Wat that is not the way to keep the world heritage as global method. To Clarify this, ancient people would like to crave or in script the story into the stone wall or pillar to portray the belief or history. Currently, it means Cambodian government try to rewrite the history to be what they want people to believe. The worst part is they officially claim is UNESCO's intention to evacuate household out from the area for the business plan from China that is purely against the human rights. they force their own people to move out from their land near the Angkor Wat and Cambodia need to clarify it in the next meeting in February 2024.

And my evidence comes from many video clip where Indian visitors explain their perspective during their visit to Angkor Wat. And you can search it on youtube.
I trust the information from the actual builders' descendants more than your claims.
