    The perfect dress for a warm Greek holiday! 40+ degrees calls for Camis :) Love your dress as always Cheryl - gorgeous fabric! A helpful suggestion re lengthening a Tee or Cami to a dress length.

    Lovely dress it looks great, have a wonderful holiday, by the time you get back I'll be in Australia, not sunning myself as its winter out there, much like our Autumn, visiting our grandson for the first time who will be 1 while we're out there.

    Don't you love it when you can get more than one item out of a pattern? I love the Ogden, both the cami and the dress and they look great on you but I can't wear strappy tops (too white and wrinkly!) so I steer clear. However after our lovely heatwave I felt the need of something sleeveless so I have just made 3 sleeveless shift tops from the GBSB book and it is a great pattern. You can wear a bra with it, which I find essential now, and change it up with trims, different necklines and I added white piping and a breast pocket to my last one. Next I intend to lengthen it to dress length so will use the method you did. I love your videos. You are so calm and low key and have good advice. Happy holiday.

      Jenny Larking ahh thanks Jenny. It's great when you find patterns that work for you. I have a sewing bee book, have yet to try the patterns, but they look great. Thanks for watching and happy sewing. 😘💐

    I am definitely going to do this hack! It looks fab on you! Did you also lengthen the facings or just keep them as they are?

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 років тому

      Amy Bates thanks Amy 👍🏻🌷 I kept the facings the same but it’s a great idea to lengthen, especially if your fabric is a bit sheer.

    Thank you. I bought the Ogden pattern after watching your last video and made it yesterday - wore it today. I quite like it but the armhole gapes slightly - don't know how to change that (I can't go down a size). Love your dress hack, may have to try that too. I've also bought the Emerson shorts pattern from True Bias - have you tried that one? Just cut it out today but no time to sew yet. Have a lovely holiday in Greece. I live in Cyprus and its hot hot hot here. 🌞

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  7 років тому

      Joanne Robinson thanks Joanne, ahh that's a shame about the armhole, maybe try a size down with a full bust adjustment? Haven't done one myself, but there are loads of good tutorials online 👍🏻
      Not tried any other True Bias patterns yet, but good luck with yours. Ooh must be lovely in Cyprus, hope you can keep cool 😘

    I know this is an old video but wanted to pick your knowledge, on the Cami can you widen the straps without compromising the top in general?

    • @StitchyBee
      @StitchyBee  6 років тому

      CraftyClaire75 Hi Claire, yes you could but you’d need to widen where the strap fits into the top 👍🏻

    Hi. Love the dress. This is a great hack!! Did you extend the pattern from the bottom of the Ogden pattern or did you work out where your waist is and cut the bottom of the Ogden pattern.?

    • @StitchyBee

      Shelley thanks Shelley 🌸 I extended from the bottom hem 👍🏻

  • @spatch1000
    @spatch1000 7 років тому

    Would you please tell me what "crepe" fabric is? Here in the states it is not a common term for a fabric. Looking at how your lovely dress flows, I wondered if it is rayon, silk or lightweight polyester. Thank you for the inspiration to make a top into a dress.

    • @chantel2311
      @chantel2311 7 років тому +1

      spatch1000 hello, butting in here; a crepe can be made of all these options. It refers to the type of weave which leaves a (tiny) crinkly look to the surface of the fabric. Crepe fabrics, whatever they're made from have a lovely soft drape :)
