It's all based on opinion though. Mine would be that South Africa has been historically famous both with politics ( likes of Mandela, Steve Biko, Walter Sisulu) and wealth ( minerals). They've been ranked the wealthiest country in Africa for decades and have been the envy for all other African countries. There have been a huge migration of Africans going to South Africa for a better life and has been like that since the late 90s, early 2000s rather than going anywhere else in Africa. Nigeria, on the other hand, would be categorized as new money, the past 20yrs they have influenced the world tremendously and their expats have literally made a global impact unmatched by any other African country. Plus the discovering of oil and creation of new black billionaires adds to their superpower. South Africa still has the stench of not being economically free and that causes a lot of people to feel like the Africans over there aren't fully liberated like Nigeria. Just like India, you can almost find a Nigerian in every country in the world. They've spread their influence throughout the world whether good or bad but they still did it. Both countries are great and both lead and influence in different spaces. God Bless Africa ✊🏿

It's all based on opinion though. Mine would be that South Africa has been historically famous both with politics ( likes of Mandela, Steve Biko, Walter Sisulu) and wealth ( minerals). They've been ranked the wealthiest country in Africa for decades and have been the envy for all other African countries. There have been a huge migration of Africans going to South Africa for a better life and has been like that since the late 90s, early 2000s rather than going anywhere else in Africa. Nigeria, on the other hand, would be categorized as new money, the past 20yrs they have influenced the world tremendously and their expats have literally made a global impact unmatched by any other African country. Plus the discovering of oil and creation of new black billionaires adds to their superpower. South Africa still has the stench of not being economically free and that causes a lot of people to feel like the Africans over there aren't fully liberated like Nigeria. Just like India, you can almost find a Nigerian in every country in the world. They've spread their influence throughout the world whether good or bad but they still did it. Both countries are great and both lead and influence in different spaces. God Bless Africa ✊🏿
