    Just watching these top guys practice is inspirational to me.

    Amazing the difference that slow-motion shows. Regular speed seems to show him with a really compact motion but slow-motion shows how long a path his racquet head makes through the forehand.

    The slow-mo's are really helpful

    Funny how he seems like an aggressive flat hitter on TV (top view) while here, he's clearly loops the ball (top spin)
    I don't remember how the comparison looked like for other players but this is intriguing

      Yeah he actually hits with quite a bit of spin, at AO his spin rate was 3000 rpm on the forehand.

      I think what makes it seem so flat and fast is that he is able to play on avg very close to the baseline. He gets quite low to deal with those deep balls and he is very consistent on his rally Ball height. Naturally, standing closer is going to make your rally ball faster because the ball has not lost as much speed before being struck again. One of the reasons fed was so deadly.

      Yes it was. They were feeding so people could demo racquets all day. This particular session was with Technifibre and LaCoste racquets and Technifibre brought in a couple of their players, #30 & 31 in dubs to play points with the participants. She was “emceeing” it.

      @@marktace1 Cool, thanks for confirming! Wish I was there, would have loved to demo racquets and play points with pros

    How did Head manage Sinner not endorsing the 2024 Speed cosmetics at the Australian Open is beyond me. Looks like he's still with the 2022 cosmetics... What is Head thinking?!

      It's up to the players what they feel comfortable with.
      Some top players use older versions with the Newer version paint job (for marketing reasons)

    • @experientialtennis
      @experientialtennis 3 місяці тому +4

      @@Braselton21 yes, I know he's not using a retail Speed and that most players use pro stocks under new cosmetics. My point is, from a Marketing point of view, not using the new cosmetics (glossy finish of course), is bad for business.

      @MrPatrickbuit 3 місяці тому +2

      @@experientialtennis I agree with you. Maybe Sinner specifically wants to use this model even though they newer version is identical. Some players have placebos like that.

    • @experientialtennis
      @experientialtennis 3 місяці тому +2

      @@MrPatrickbuit Sinner plays a Pro Stock version of the Graphene Speed MP 16*19. I'm just talking about the paintjob he uses. From a marketing stand point, since he's under contract, he should be playing the paintjob he endorses. The 2024 colourway.

    • @MrPatrickbuit
      @MrPatrickbuit 3 місяці тому +5

      @@experientialtennis Yeah I am aware. I phrased my point poorly. What I mean is that some players will genuinely care about a paintjob even though it has no effect on their tennis. That's what I meant with placebo.

    His elbow seems pretty low (and tucked into his body) when hitting his FH. Makes it even more impressive how good it is lol, as you’d think the lack of spacing would be sub-optimal.

      So is Iga Swiatek. Now both WTA & ATP No. 1 have bended FH.
