This makes a very good point - people want to see what they see in the videos not what the performer does on stage (and the singer does sound very different on stage than they do in video) I feel sorry for these guys really - they were kind hung out to dry by the corporate company they signed to. And apparently they signed contracts that were written in German and they had no lawyers present at the time. Sad situation (and it cost Rob hos life)

That's why it became such a big deal. If Milli Vanilli hadn't come to the U.S., they would've been fine. And yes, Black Box being exposed for the same thing as were C&C Music Factory and Technotronic, a short time later was for the same reason. Americans had never seen such a thing and it felt like we had been betrayed and deceived. Personally, I was in favor of giving Rob & Fab a second chance when they released their album in 1992, but I can understand why so many others didn't feel that way. It was a very ugly and unfortunate situation.

Rob lost control getting on drugs to cope and doing other things like stealing. Seems to me the last of his self-esteem crashed when the exposure happened while Fab was like the Phoenix who rose up again. Regardless I'll always love them both. :)

Everyone does not lip sync now. What a ridiculous thing to say. Natural voices are still respected in the industry. That being said, not many people did what they did--using another person's voice. That's lip syncing but also lip singing over another's voice. Most artists still use their own voice, I think Farian should have gotten most of the blame tho and I love Rob and Fab.
